I read this book after I read Lireal, but it was still just as enjoyable. It's got all the right stuff.

I have got to say that Sabriel was the best of the three books. It was the most enjoyable and actionpacked.

I can never pick which of the books I like the most, but that's probably for the best.

It certainly stood well on it's own, it didn't need to become a trilogy to be a good book like so many others. I loved Sabriel, it just seemed...to work. Everything went smoothly and I never got bored and I hardly ever put it down when I first read it.
Oh and did you know, there are two more Old Kingdom books due for release? In 2010 there will be a book called Clariel: The Lost Abhorsen coming out which is the story of the young woman who eventually became Chlorr of the Mask. It takes place about 320 years before the events in Sabriel.
2011: Untitled Sequel to Abhorsen which is a sequel of sorts to Abhorsen, taking place several years later.
Nix hopes they'll be out in that time frame and I hope so to, I cant wait!

I loved Sabriel. It did work well as a stand alone book but also fits well into the Trilogy. I can't say that one of the books where better than the others. I think that I could relate to Lirael much better than Sabriel- but not so much more that Sabriel's character was beyond me.

Sorry, but a movie is probably not really going to happen because it does not have a popular enough fanbase. It would not get enough people in theaters to see it.
