My tattoo is between my shoulders and I've been doing what my artist said to do but. it's got lumpies that feel like the scabs did, Bit it isn't scabs. so my question is... what the hell? and how do I fix it if need be.

That could be a number of things. Without seeing a picture, it is hard to say. The most common reason for lumps; are clogged pores (too much lotion or not enough washing), a reaction to the lotion being used, or the artist did not shave you in the ares with lumps, which results in ingrown hairs. Post pics if you can.

is it random lumps in the tattoo, or is the tattoo raised up and puffy where the ink is? It could be scar tissue if you are more prone to scarring, or if the tattoo artist went to deep while doing the tattoo. I have one between my shoulder blades as well, and the tattoo feels puffy and raised up even though it has been about ten years since I got it done. As long as it isn't providing discomfort, and it looks ok, it shouldn't be a big problem.

I found out I was allergic to the lotion and cream I was using for aftercare! ahh
