DROWNING
The eternal ocean is all I can see
The sharp scent of salt surrounds me
Moonlight illuminates my drifting form
Lost amongst the wreckage of the storm
I call out to the souls of the dead
With a voice of desolation instead
Of the hopeful cry I earlier made
Knowing now that I won't be saved
Staring at the empty stars I let go
My efforts erased by the ocean's flow
Stealing both my faith and fears
Calm in the midst of the ocean's tears
Limp limbs and mind relax forever
Abandoning the vain endeavor
To save my life a thought forsaken
When hope is gone the soul is taken
I take a long final breath as I sink
The sight of stars gone before I can think
Just how sad it is that I am dead
The water swallowing every tear shed
The quiet melody of pulsing sea
Quiets the pulse of the heart in me
Slowing as silence steals my thought
And grants the peace only death ever wrought
I'm falling now into Oblivion's arms
Apathy reviving her majesty's charms
She welcomes me with a poisonous grin
Beckoning me to "please come in"
Sapphire blindness gives way to dreams
And floating in the pain between
My gentle murderer's lethal intention
And my soul's grand reinvention
Something living, something dead
Something thought, nothing said
The quiet shapes form all around me
Souls forged from my fading memory
Lights of emerald with crimson eyes
Hatred surviving just as love dies
But loathing robbed of that victory
By the knowledge that it means nothing to me
Nothing to me, just like the world
Drifting away past the ocean unfurled
Before my eyes knowing only the sea
And the eyes of the lost staring at me
I seem to have forgotten all the names
But the souls gaze endearingly all the same
I can't recall how to hope or fear
I only remember I'm drowning down here

Wow, it's long. And dark. And depressing. And awesome. Anyone tell you you are a great poet? Yes, no, well I'm telling you now just incase. Keep writting Imagine.

dude your evil..hat makes me wanna see more of your work. Its so much better than my writing...maybe not my stories but my poems at least. that poem makes me see everythin in my minds eye its very good.
