Death Note and Code Geass are very similar infact both animes were released in 2006.

If you haven't watched Death Note I suggest you do unless you get frightened easily because Death Note is a bit darker than Code Geass.

After you watch the first three or four episodes you'll how closely reated they are.

That's actually very true. I noticed it as well. There's so many similarities, like...
--
*SPOILERS*1. Both main characters have some sort of newly acquired powers.
(DN: The Death Note)
(CG: The Geass)
2. Both main characters have a "mystic" entity that gave them their "power" and stay with the main character throughout the series.
(DN: Ryuuk)
(CG: C.C)
3. Both main characters want to change the world.
(DN: Kill all criminals and people that get in his way)
(CG: Create a new, peaceful world)
4. Both main characters know their enemies at a friend-basis.
(DN: Light knows L)
(CG: Lelouch knows Suzaku)
5. The main characters had at least one family member killed in their conquest.
(DN: Light lost his dad)
(CG: Lelouch lost Euphie and Clovis)
6. The main characters have love conflicts behind their backs.
(DN: Misa and that woman reporter fight over Light [rhyme biggrin ])
(CG: Shirley thinks that Karin likes Lelouch, and got hurt when she saw Lelouch kiss Karin...cat-fight, etc.)
7. The main characters have people in the news on their side.
(DN: The newsreporter lady)
(CG: Diethard Reid)
8. Both main characters have a little sister. (?)
(DN: Sayu)
(CG: Nunnally)
9. Both main characters begin their conquest at the same age.
(DN: 17)
(CG: 17)
10. Both see the entire process of changing the world as a game.
(DN: Light looks like he intends to just see who could out-think the other in the end)
(CG: Lelouch even went as far as representing his army with a chess board)
*SPOILERS*

There's probably a bunch more, but I'm too lazy to think of it...

Sorry for editing your post but some of the content would spoil it for the English dub watchers.

Don't worry I didn't delete anything I just white texted it.

Oh whoops... sweatdrop ...
I didn't think about that. Sorry.
But anyways I also saw this cute fan flash of Death Note that actually related to the plotline, but it has a few spoilers...
(chuckles at the biggrin smiley floating in the whited text...)

Death Note is such a brilliant anime (and an even better manga).
The only problem I had with the anime was the ending, I didn't enjoy as much as I did when I read the manga.
I love how the characters are all really developed and well thought about and the storyline keeps you thinking. mrgreen

But now that I think of it...I think DN promotes unhealthy eating habits (L and cake, Mello and chocolate, Light and chips)...excluding Ryuuk, who promotes eating good ol' apples. sweatdrop

Which brings into question the point of Ryuk needing to eat healthy in teh first place when all he needs to do to survive is to steal other people's lifespans with his Death Note... xd

Ryuk just likes the taste of apples in the human world. Have you even seen an apple in the Shinigami world. Rotten and decayed vs. Nice, juicy, and sweet.

You should watch the movies they end completely different Mello and Near weren't even needed. *hint* *hint*

The first movie was pretty much exactly like the story line but the second movie has a few changes but not enough to ruin the storyline...

Misa-Misa isn't blonde in the movie ... sad I think it takes away from her charm as a cheerleader lolita.

i liked both the anime and the manga but i thought that the ending to death note in the anime was better because it shows light as more of sad and not so crazy person, so in a way it was a littile bit better like that and also with the part were the "deleate" guy is in the manga he turns agenst light while in the anime he killes himself to let light escape. crying that really got to me so thats why i like the anime version better

I agree that Death Note and Geass are very similar because I noticed several character similarities between Lelouch and Light because they both wanted to change the world and believed it was their job and they had the right way to do it.

I totally agree, they are very similiar. After all Code Geass is pretty much Death Note mixed with Gundam.
