The city of Keldabe. Ruled by the powerful sorcerer, Shadetwist the Unspeakable. He has ruled the city for several years now, & has proved enough of a problem to a neighboring country that they have hired a group of adventurers to 'remove' Shadetwist. Why they want to do this is unknown, as the city of Keldabe is prospering under Shade's rule. The standard of living is high, the city relatively wealthy, & Shade is generally liked as a ruler. Unfortunately for them, Shade learned of the plot through his spies, & cursed the adventurers as soon as they entered the city. Shade cursed the adventurers to slowly turn into animals. Whether they'd be completely animals or some human-animal hybrid is unknown. Shade said they might have a month, they might have a few days. The clock has begun ticking for the adventurers. They need to succeed in their mission or lose their own identities. Our story picks up just after they have been cursed by the mad sorcerer.

Appearance: Kira. She stands at about 5 foot 6 and has kind of icy light blue eyes, with platinum blond hair.She is thin and fit, often wearing light clothes that allow her easy movement.
Bio: Kira is an assassin and sort of personal guard and hench woman for Shadetwist. Nobody knows much of her past, and she does not tell them the details. What is known is that she hails from a clan to the far north and has their symbol both on her headband, and stamped like a brand on the inside of her right wrist. She has been trained in killing others for a living, and has been working for Shadetwist since she was about seventeen.
Weapons: throwing knives and stars, daggers and wires
Magical Abilities: teleportation and shadow manipulation. Senses magic and spells. She can also manipulate her wires more precisely by sending her power into them. Her demonic blood gives her faster reaction time, more stamina, an ability to jump higher and farther than many humans, and sharper hearing and sight, especially in the dark.

Bio: Tabitha was found in the forest, as a baby, by travelers. These travelers were heading back to the city when they found her. They took her in as their own. At first her adopted parents thought she was an elf because her ears are pointed and she didn't physically age fast. But then she started to shapeshift into different animal species. Tabitha became to much for them and was given to the magical leader of the city. Then she began to work with as a servant for Shadetwist.

Appearance: Titi has straight blonde hair reaching just to her shoulders, and slightly almond shaped blue eyes. She is possessed of the pale, flawless skin that most of her kind are privileged to have, as well as the usual pointy ears and sharp, small features. She has the same stature, being 5'7" and weighing only 115 lbs. What she has that is unusual, however, is a recent development. The first adventurer to show signs of the curse, Titi came into possession of a pair of beautiful, 6 ft. wide blue butterfly wings just a few hours after the curse became known to them. She usually wears fairly masculine clothing, britches and white tights being the norm, but has more feminine tunics that show her figure, although they aren't bodices by any means.
Bio: Titania was born to two elf parents in a small city mostly populated by that species, resulting in an extremely philosophical community, where most men and women don't have jobs at all and no one had to make money - rather, everyone shared food and products, and they were given to another out of sheer compassion. She has a fairly normal life up until age 8, when a group of hobgoblins escaped from hell attacked and destroyed the city, murdering almost all of the citizens. Titi lived when her father hid her in a church - a place the demons couldn't enter no matter how hard they tried. She spent a week there with no food or water, and was nearly dead by the time she was found by a young male mercenary. After he rescued her and she became healthy, he began to teach her what he knew, and by the time she was twenty, she was as proficient at the talent as he, despite her peaceful and spiritual upbringing. She discovered and cultivated her magic in her twenties, and broke off from the mercenary who saved her. He was getting old, and she didn't want him dying, so she convinced him to live in a home, in a village, rather than wandering as they used to. He did die 10 years later, but it was of old age. She's spent her life from that point doing the same as she always did, traveling with companions sometimes and alone other times, trying to find a place to fit in with the world - the one thing her teacher hadn't given her.
Weapons: Titi carries identical dual scythes, which she is able to use in perfect tandem with absolutely deadly affect. The handles are made of silver, intricately designed, and each bears a sapphire gem which adorns it at the center. The blades are incredibly unique, each being made of perfectly carved diamond - stronger than any steel she has yet to encounter.
Magical Abilities: Titania has very basic healing skills, being able to fix small scrapes and bruises with little effort, and to patch up fairly drastic wounds if she expends energy, though that results in her becoming fairly exhausted. She could even fix a mortal wound if she really needed to, but it would probably result in her passing out for a couple of hours. She can also manifest magical energy in the form of mild time control, slowing down enemies in battle or speeding herself up, though it adds up in terms of energy drained should she use that ability too long.

Bio: Rene heard of the sorcerer ruling the town and the name, that's all he needed to know. Although the city may be doing great, he does not trust the ruler one bit and joined in the party to take him down. He was cursed but he doesn't care and it in fact made him want to work faster on finding a way to stop Shadetwist.
Weapons: He has a single sword he uses in one hand, sometimes two hands though.
Magical Abilities: Currently he can enhance his own physical abilities for a few minutes.

Bio: Kalik was born and raised in the neighboring city. When he was three, friends of his parents, along with their new born daughter, disappeared on a trip into the forest. The search parties gave up hope. All they could find was the remains of traces of magic. They said that a powerful sorcerer must have done it. Some of the citizens blamed Shadetwist for this. Kalik has joined the adventurers to see if he can find the three that went missing over fourty years before. He has pictures that his parents had, and is on a search to find them. He wants to know if they are alive and captured, or if they died because Shadetwist killed them.
Weapons: Magic, and his Sword.

Kira, hearing her master return, pauses and listens a moment longer, then, flipping her blade around sheaths it in the hidden sheath in her wrist, then silently stands up. Kira crosses the room, then stops and knocks lightly upon his door before entering. She could hear him wheezing, sensed he was drained, but still acted with cold, reserved respect and waited for him to permit her entry.

Kira entered, and if she noticed his fatigue, she did not make an signs or comments of it. Instead, she stops in the doorway, standing stiffly at attention. "How did you fare with your spell?" She asks, her voice sounding as if she didn't care either way. Actually, she rather hoped that the intruders still remained humans, so that she may kill them herself. It wouldn't be very interesting to kill a bunch of cats and dogs after all. That was not work for an assassin, but work for an exterminator.

Kira's eyebrows come together slightly in her equivalent to a frown and shakes her head. "No sir. We know that they were hired by a neighboring kingdom, probably due to that fact that they feel threatened by you. Because of this, we cannot yet determine who might have done it, or if it was just one kingdom, or multiple kingdoms, which is a considered possibility. We are looking into it now, however." She replies, listing off what she knew in an almost robotic way. "Do you have any orders for me, sir?" She asks after a brief pause so he could consider her information.

Kira was mildly surprised, but did not show it. Compliments were rare... but this one well founded. Killing and tracking were her life, after all. She had better be the best, or what good was she? "Yes sir." She replies, bowing slightly, then steps back, not out through the door, but into the shadows near the door. Kira seemed to melt into the shadows and disappear in the blink of an eye, racing off through the shadow realms to find a portal back out that would bring her near to these unfortunate adventurers so that she could begin her mission.

"Not now, Tabitha" Shade said, going over to his desk "If you wish, you could follow the adventurers I cursed a little while ago" he added "Hired to 'remove' me from power here"

"Ah, but I never told you to kill them" Shade said "I merely said you could follow them. I already have Kira trailing them, but having 4 eyes on them is even better than two" Shade explained
