So, I have a friend that's an athiest but I was hoping that with time I could make and influence on her and help her know God. But my parents I told me that she's a bad influence and won't let me be friends with her (of course, that doesn't do too mush cause I can still talk to her at school, on the cell phone, and AIM). I'm conflisted on what to do? What do you guys think?
P.S. Pray for me

In this case, I think it's okay to ignore your parents. They object toher because she's a bad influence? So what? Maybe by spending time with her and showing her how fun it is to be a real Christian, she'll become a GOOD influence in their eyes.
Honestly, people can't be told the Good News if Christians avoid them. I'm friends with a Wiccan and a Satanist. o.O Should I never talk to them again because of their current beliefs? I don't think so. I want them to NOT go to Hell, so I plan to get them to accept Christianity gradually. That's probably the tactic that's best in your case. Talk about God now and then, invite her to Uprisings or whatever. NOT the main services. A youth group, maybe, but DEFINITELY not the main service until she's accepted God.
Good luck!

Your parents are doing a bad job as Christians(if they are). The point OF being a Christian is to become a "fisher of men", is it not? :3
I would say stick to it. The nice you are to her, the better influence you will be.

It is true that you should spread the word and i wish you luck but be careful not to force anything on your friend just throw in a few things now and then and with luck your friend will ask you about it. (hope I have been helpful)

(hope I have been helpful) That's exactly my plan is. Thank you everyone for your advice! I'm not going to give up on my friend. She only has one life to be saved and I don't want her to lose it. I'll still respect my parents wishes and not hangout with her everyday. There's still school to be with her. whee

Whatever happened to 'honor thy father and thy mother'? Disobeying your parents and hanging out with this girl when they told you not to is breaking one of the Ten Commandments.

Why shouldn't she invite her friend to the main service? Is the church so sacred that people who aren't born Christian can't attend the main service until they've accepted God? How do you expect someone to accept God if you deny them the chance to meet God in his house?!

For someone who doesn't believe, a traditional church service like that would be quite uncomfrotable, I'd imagine. Youth group, hopefully anyway, is like getting together with friends and hanging out, and talking about God a little bit, just sort of hinting it on if you don't believe. Its a much better place to start. After they get more into it, then invite them to the main service, it'll feel more comfortable for them.

Maestro is right. ^^ Perhaps your Youth Group is different, Novembere, but most of them are a lot more teen-friendly than main services. If you drag an aetheist to a normal service, they will either just leave or be resentful, but if they are brought to a lighter, more firendly atmosphere with a lot of people about their age, they should respond better.
