So I was sitting in college bored as hell when a idea popped in my head. Random trap placement for the area. Simple enough but when I started to figure out the formulas using only dice I realized how hard it would be for a square arena setting and it would be even harder for a not square one. So here is what I have:
You would have to roll the formula twice, once for X and the second time for the Y coordinates.
Side
length=formula
= 2d3 - 1
= 1d6
= 2d4 - 1
= 1d8
= 1d4 + 1d6 - 1
= 1d10
= 2d6 - 1
= 1d12
= 4d4 -3
= 2d6 + 1d4 - 2
= 2d8 - 1
= 3d6 - 2
= 2d6 + 2d4 - 3
= 2d8 + 1d4 - 2
= 3d6 + 1d4 - 3
= 2d8 + 1d6 - 2
= 4d6 - 3
= 3d8 - 2
= 4d4 + 2d6 - 5
= 2d10 + 1d6 - 2
= 5d4 + 1d10 - 5
= 3d10 + 2d12 - 4
= 5d12 + 1d6 -6
= 4d10 + 2d20 -5
= 9d12 - 8
Im weird and find that figuring out these sort of things is rather fun. Also another note: these formulas will fit perfectly within the length given.
