While walking the museum's stately halls and lush garden courtyard, you come across a small baby sleeping in the sun. Surrounded by toys and seemingly no sitter, what do you do?

Huh. The Darwin Wing of the VoE sure wasn't what Trishtar had expected when she had first heard of the place. Before information on the wing had become public, she had assumed that it was more of an experimental wing rather than a museum. Her feet led her from exhibit to another and then out into a courtyard. Shading her squinted eyes, the young woman shivers as a small chill crawls up her spine from being touched by the sun's warmth. Eyes closed, she walked blissfully into the sunlight only to trip and fall onto the not so soft grass.

Pushing her self off the ground with her arms, Trishtar got onto her knees and glared at the object next to her foot. It was a toy. A wooden doll to be exact. She grabbed the doll and was ready to chuck the offending object into the bushes when she felt a piercing stare on her back. The young woman slowly turned her body to find herself staring into fierce orange-red eyes. Eyes of fire. Strangely enough the face that held such passionate eyes was a blank. Not the blank stare of an idiotically annoying brother who just realized that his sister could care less that he could chug tobasco sauce and eating ice cream up his nose, but the uncaring blank stare that the sister would give the brother.

Trishtar blinked. Repeatedly. Unnerved by the baby, she had reached one of her supporting arms behind her only to bring her back onto her back. Her brown eyes attempted to focus on the blue sky before she gingerly sat up. Steeling her self, Trishtar meekly turned to look at the baby. This time there was a small smirk and all expression had left the eyes, leaving them blank and bored. If Trishtar hadn't known better, or at least she thought she did, she could have sworn that orangey-pink baby was about to chuck the rubber ball in her small hands at her.

Laughing it off, Trishtar got on her knees and slowly crawled her way closer to the baby. Stopping at a good few feet away from the baby, she had only stopped because the blank stare had begun to give her goose bumps, the young woman smiled nervously at the baby and took a deep breath. A subtle yet overwhelming scent of persimmons filled her lungs. The beautifully sweet fruits that her grandmother plucked for her whenever she visited. A dreamy smile bloomed on Trishtar's face as she thought about how her mother used to give her dried slices of the fruit. Her eyes in turn became dreamy until she met with the baby girl's eyes.

Twitching her nose in nervous annoyance, Trishtar smiled brightly and asked, “Where's your guardian? Are you here by yourself?”

Instantly, the young woman felt as if she had been slapped by the way the baby's eyes dropped as if the exclaim, 'I'm a damn baby and you expect me to speak? Do you see anyone here, but me?'

“Uhh.. yeah.. what was I thinking?” Trishtar laughed at her self. She looked around her and picked up one of the toys on the ground. She brought one foot in front of the other of the stuffed animal, marching it towards the baby. “Do you want to play?”

This time the baby raised her chin and looked down her button nose, the older woman's shoulders huddling closer to her body. Again, Trishtar could hear the silent response, 'What? With you? I don't think so.' The woman wanted to drop her head in failure, but didn't have the chance as her outraged eyes became as round as the sun when the baby crawled away from her like a smug cat waving it's behind and tail at her.

“Did I just get insulted by a baby?” She paused then exclaimed, “A baby that didn't even say anything?”

While walking the museum's stately halls and lush garden courtyard, you come across a small baby sleeping in the sun. Surrounded by toys and seemingly no sitter, what do you do?

It wasn't often Mr. Tiansay left his home for the grandeur that lay beyond it...

It wasn't because he was by any means, sluggish mind you; nay, far from such accusations. But being as enigmatic as a riddle from the Jester's tongue, he being both labyrinth and minotaur, nobody could really distinguish a pertinent if not plausible reason for his suspiciously shifty retreat into the depths of his curious home despite how ill-fitted the notion felt. But what seemed more curious than even the menagerie of odd pets he kept or his sallow, angular face peering out the window, was why he had chosen this day in particular to finally leave...

Sporting his outlandishly outdated tophat with his charming genteel to follow, he had spent his visit fuitfully, examining exhibit upon exhibit with the euphoric wonder of a boy many years younger. Albeit even though his love of science and history was great and begged competition from even the most astute professor, his love of nature outweighed either. The quirky fellow was never above the most indiosyncratic of habits, and upon noting that the brim of his hat would not be enough to shade his eyes from the intense sunlight that washed over the verdant courtyard, he produced a compact umbrella from his light leather satchel, and proceeded to pop it open with the telltale "Fwoompsh". Content with the knowledge that being prepared had saved yet another day, he offered the nothingness a clipped smirk, and began to navigate the splendor the garden offered from the sanctity of the dark ring of shade from which he stood. It did not take him long however to stumble across the most curious sight of all...

An infant. God's honest truth; an infant. Lazily napping in the warmth of the sun amongst a fertile patch of grass. Mr. Tiansay had always adored children, his interest piqued by their unique brand of knowledge and their honesty regarding the world around them. He would always contemplate the wondrous things man could achieve had they only taken the time to preserve this same imaginative intuition instead of spoiling it with the rationality obtained from the soul-crunching environment of the workplace. But infants? They were arguably something else entirely, representing nothing short of the untainted innocence all enter the world with. To make a long, dry, story short, they intimidated even the currently sound state of Mr. Tiansay...

"What's this then..?" He spoke, more in the direction of the toddler (Who, despite all infants' semi-androgynous appearence, was decidedly a little girl).

He still had some reservations about picking the child up, but being well aware of the dangers that lurked from leaving an unmanned baby out where the elements could get it moreso than the ones of holding an infant the wrong way, he asked kindly, "Certainly that heat must be getting to you... Would you care to share my parasol?" To accomodate the child's small shape in the ring of shade, he stepped forward a few paces and held the umbrella with a steady hand. Once cut from the sunlight however, the child responded. It sleepily opened it's eyes to half-lidded spheres and smacked it's lips a few times prior to initiating the most adorable yawn Tiansay was sure he'd ever encounter. Her eyes were so intense...so gorgeous that shade of orange. In him it stirred a variety of ineffable emotions that he wanted to linger. This illusion of peace, of beauty shattered soon enough. The child seemed to be looking for something. Very precocious, and after grabbing at the plethora of toys the man adjacent of him only now seemed to notice, but no search yielding results, it looked skyward...what was that obnoxious film over the sun it seemed to wonder. It clearly didn't like it. Without any other recourse for communication, it's tiny face began to screw up uncomfortably before bursting into shrill cries. A little less than he hated conflict, Dian hated being the center of attention, and making the connection, quickly stepped out of the baby's light. "Dreadfully sorry!" he sputtered.

He decided he couldn't make the situation any worse than it had just jolted to unless of course the child keeled over right there, so perhaps the best he could do was keep the baby company until a guardian of some sort returned to claim her. It wouldn't sit right if he were to just leave her there pretty as he pleased. First seating himself with a series of soft grunts, he would then pull her into his lap where at least the risk of dropping her was greatly decreased. Bouncing her gently while she gradually returned to her previously peaceful state, he affirmed, "You're absolutely right, that was quite rude of me." She gave a small sniff in response. On that note, she smelled somewhat...different. From the few babies he had come across in his time, they often had a sweet, unique aroma, but he was sure a baby wasn't supposed to smell like...that. Not that it was a particulary bad smell really. Just unidentifiable and peculiar. "Have you been rolling in potpourri or something?" he thought aloud. He was met with those large, unblinking eyes and her tiny clenched fists nestled under her chin. "Aaaah well. No matter, little one." He patted her bottom methodically and glanced around, waiting for some over-protective mother or a young, unexperienced nanny to creep out of the bushes and give him a good thump for even looking at their infant. But seeing no sign of the former or latter, he would toss a few unkempt tendrils of his inky black hair, almost identical to the shade of the whispy locks of the head of this creature, from his bright golden eyes and give her due attention. He released a hand from under her and extended it like one would a handshake, "My name is Dian..."

He grinned as she took a firm grasp on one of his fingers.
