{pending ideas}
Ideas that are currently up for review.
o1. Antagonist Practice ACCEPTED Should the 'Diversity through Adversity' thread be created so players can practice creating unique, flawed characters? If so, what else can you recommend to add to this idea?
o2. IC Chatroom ACCEPTED A thread where characters from all of our favorite animes can collide and hang out. A creative way for canon characters to interact with characters from other shows! Should we allow only canons or OCs, as well? Keep in mind, if we put this in the main forum all posts will have to abide by our literary standards. (third person, etc., etc.)
What do you think?

{accepted ideas} o1. IC Chatroom The OHSHC chatroom has been created. It is currently out of commission due to guild inactivity, but will be re-opened once we have more members!
o2. Roleplay Training The Training Hall has been created by Media to help new roleplayers (and even some of our oldies) learn how to perfect their writing style and get in character.
o3. Antagonist Practice The Cave Of Antagonism has been created by Kunasaki to assist roleplayers in creating more diverse character types; specifically antagonists (or the "bad guys")

Can we post here? I hope so...
About the new generation thing. I acturaly have a FMA RP in made for that...It takes place in the year 4214, roughly twenty centuries after the anime version of FMA ends. Originaly, it was going to be both a RP and a fanfic, but the fanfic part isn't doing so good...~sweatdrop~.
I'll post the sumary/opening here, and if enough people are interested, I will create it.
The year is 4214. It has been over twenty centuries since the war between humans, chimeras, alchemists, and homunculi started; ten centuries since Earth was the colorful world everyone didn't charish until it was gone, vanished forever, leavning behind an ugly, deserted, red desert with a few cities here and there; and decadies since the decrese of homunculi and chimera population had swivled to the less than thousand it is now. With that on their mind, homunculi and chimeras have no choice but to be terrified for their life.
However, there are two homunculi who have survived from the begining; who were also apart of the originials, Envy and Wrath. After the death of their leader, Dante, Envy had taken over, keeping everyone under control. Wrath helps as much as he can, but with his body and mind still of a child, he can't help but be scared for his life every now and then.
Since Dante's death, the homunculi were free to do as they pleased. Many roamed free, but many were also confused and afraid of what lie ahead. Freedom was a very frightening experience to them.
All they want is to belong, to be loved. Dante had been controling them from the start, threatening them with the Gate; they didn't have much of a choice. Now that they were granted freedom, they wanted to act how they wanted to, be who their own person. The humans and alchemists didn't understand. Because of their past, the homunculi were quickly forsakened by the humans, and alchemists started hunting for them. It soon became a source of entertainment - a game.
Thus the war began....
The homunculi were failing...
The chimeras were dying...
The alcehmists were winning...
The humans were laughing...
Amongst the groups, however, lay a handful of bodies who want to change everything. Who want to help.
Alchemists whom wish to save the homunculi and chimeras at any cost - even if it means dieing for them...
Homunculi who want to save their kind...
Chimeras who fight to servive...
And humans who, although powerless, help the inhumans with weapons in hands.
All of above, cry, laugh, hurt, and have every other emotion 'normal' humans have. Some homunculi and chimeras commited suicide, tired of all the fighting. Many turned themself into the alchemist, whom quickly disposed of them. Seeing this, the helping groups knew they had to get together and quickly make up plans to stop it.
Their plan:
To end the war.
To change everything.
To save eachother.
To show everyone that it is never too late to change their ways, and that everything will be alright when the ending arrives.
OC Canons will be allowed (as homunculi), aswell. Tons of OCs will be needed...So, yeah. If enough people enjoy it, I will make it a RP. ^-^

Personally, I like some new generation roleplays, some aren't that..believeable. But ones like Sin's those are the kind I join, they're intresting. Yeah so maybe the characters you love aren't there anymore, but still its a good thing to have. Its fun and exciting even without the main characters...
But thats just me.

Personally, I like having some of the main canons around as it makes it feel more authentic. However, in some cases, the new gen. roleplays actually work out very well. I like the FMA RPs in new generations, but for some they just don't work out. The idea of a future Naruto, for example, always seems a little strange. Unless you can make OCs that are just as unique and interesting as the canon characters, it's really just a roleplay about a bunch of ninjas doing whatever they want (which isn't that interesting).
I like the idea presented by Sin of Tragedy, it's new generation but it has some of the elements of the original story which is important. That's more of a mixed RP than a serious new-gen. RP, though. I think we may have to take this on a case-to-case basis. Or just decide whether or not we want COMPLETELY 100% new generation roleplays.
By the way Sin of Tragedy, and please don't kill me for this, dying is not spelled correctly. ("dieing" should be "dying") -cringe-

I haven't played many new gen. Role plays to begin with, to tell you the truth; not even Fullmetal Alchemist ones (If Envy's not in it, I refuse to be a part of it. XD). Though, I might have played some Fruits Basket next gen...
Naruto is a tough anime to RP to go with for someone like me. I hate RPs that involve lots of fighting, mostly because I can't do a fighting scene to save my life.
All in all, I do hope that any of you would like to make a cannon a homunculus. I'm one thing I am positive about if I do start the RP, is that Ed!Pride will deffinitly be in it. I've played BBI's Fullmetal Alchemist, and I have got to admit that Pride is a very unique character in it (love him to DEATH, but not more than the cross-dressing palm tree).
Oops. I guess I forgot to edit that. ~edits~. Don't worry, I won't kill, or hate, any of you if you point out my spelling mistakes. In fact, I encourage you to. I'm an okay speller, but not the best. Don't worry, though, I'll use Dictionary.com if I'm really not sure. ^-^

-still alive-
That's alright, Sin. Not everyone enjoys the heavy action RPs- FullMetal Alchemist has some pretty good fights, but it depends on which character you play. It's a better balance than Naruto or other fighting-oriented shows.
I think I may start a new RP soon, actually. Strangely enough, I haven't done a YYH RP in a very long time. I'm not sure I want to put in the energy to manage one on my own, though. Unless, of course, someone else wants to co-create it with me, in which case I'd gladly participate. Or if someone's already creating one I'll join. Somehow, I always end up playing Kurama, though... >< Seriously. Every time.
It's okay because I like the character, but I'm probably a little rusty because it's been such a long while. Whoops-- This has nothing whatsoever to do with new-generation. I'm going to have to send myself a warning now. T.T And I don't even have a good excuse for breaking my own rule.

.SUGGESTION
Idea for a thread in the character development subforum:
'Diversity through Adversity' (or hopefully, something catchier than that)
It would be a practice thread for players who want to improve their ability to create character profiles. A profile skeleton will be supplied at the beginning and the players will have to fill in the skeleton with their original character. The catch is, they'd have to create an imperfect character or a character that people don't like. They can come up with their own entirely or be supplied with a few basic details by a mod.
What do you all think? Sound like something you'd enjoy?

.SUGGESTION ii
Okay, another idea: An IC Chatroom. Perhaps this will help get some activity in this place. Good way to get people to start RPing and it'll give everyone an opportunity to RP together, despite their different interests.

Hmm...
Excellent suggestions but I must say I would definitely love to go for suggestion ii. I've seen a lot of threads similar to something of that nature in the Writer's Forum and they all did pretty well.
Maybe it could be something like 'How Would Your Character Respond' or something a long those lines. I also saw a thread in which the person wrote a letter to them self from their character's point of view. It was a lot of fun to me anyway.

You seem to know what you're doing, McDoogle.
How about you create it?
Or, we could make the thread together if you want help. Just tell me what to do and I'll do it. ^^

Hmm, okay then. Only question is where should I put it? I don't know if it exactly fits in the OOC Sub Forum. Maybe in Character Development? What do you think dear?

It depends. How do you want to set up the chatroom, butterfly?
If it's characters actually interacting with each other and following our lit. standards it could go in the main forum. The C/PD Subforum would also work if we want to use it so that people can practice "getting into character".
I personally like the second option. Seems a little more useful.
