I really like it! I wasn't so sure when I read the part about it being almost like X-men. (I like them, but I'm thinking about originallity here) but as I read on I became more and more interested!

ok this is alot but goes quick
-The Shattereds-
In the close future an event, that most would think to be straight from the pages of an X-men comic book, occurs. People begin to change and develop powers but the difference is that there is no change in genetics. This is not only their story but it is my story as well.
Most people think it started happening around the years 2006, 2007… I’m not sure when it did actually start but then again no one really is. Many researchers think the earliest of us hid it for a few years. Its not widely welcomed by the major population yet but it’s getting there; I can’t stand when people say it’s like gay rights all over again. Interestingly this ‘condition’ does not seem discriminate between cultures and races. I don’t believe everything I’m told anymore but reports of extremist attacks has sky-rocketed. Though proof is not found many believe that it is evolution, others turn to religion hoping for comfort and answers.
Sadly all who have been affected are turned away by the Roman Catholic Church being deemed “abominations unto God” by the Pope. The Jehovah’s Witness people are still acting mostly the same as they usually do aside from ignoring it. Many Baptists are scared but large numbers of people still help in whatever ways they can. The Jews are still waiting for the messiah, whom they’ve unfortunately already missed, but they’re sure that this is a sign he’s coming soon. Many firm believers in God claim that these are gifts from God to be used for his glory, but if so than why are all these attacks happening?
“Shattereds”… it came from some newscast when it had just started happening becoming popular. The guy said to “think of humans as a pane of glass, we may be different shapes and sizes but we all do mostly the same thing. These other people have taken that that glass and shattered it and can now do anything they want with the pieces.” The name grows on you a little.
The only disturbing part of this to me is the symbols, or at least what some people are saying about them. Mostly it’s just the Catholics that are following the Pope’s every word, they’d probably follow him off a cliff. I’m not sure if he is or isn’t right about this being a sign of the tribulation but it infuriates me that he says these symbols are the mark of the beast. I know for a fact he’s wrong! Not only am I a born again believer in God but I’ve read most Revelations and it states quite clearly that, one the mark is either put on your hand or head by someone, or they kill you, two there has to be an anti-Christ to call for the mark to be put out. It is weird that regardless of level, everyone I’ve meet does have it on the back of their right hand.
Look I’m not saying this isn’t the end times but I’m not saying it is either. As far as I know no one has been raptured which is relieving since I should be a part of it. True people don’t know when the rapturing will actually be in the tribulation but let’s not get into that now.
I guess I left you hanging on that whole level thing from a second ago didn’t I? Alright I’ll break it down for you; there are six known styles of symbols that have appeared. I have talked to people that have said they saw a seventh one but seeing is believing in this case. It starts with a simple circle, on through two different spirals, a complex conjoined diamond like shape, then a five pointed star, followed by the Star of David. Two things they share in common are that they can all be drawn in one line and all have a connecting circle on the outside. I would say that the shapes were just something that varied among blood types or something like that if I had watched mine change on my hand.
Before you freak out I need to warn you that if you’re in the first three stages it’s very volatile and can put you in a bad situation quick. In the first stage you don’t develop your powers; you just get a little increase in your natural abilities like strength, speed, reflexes, and so on. Stage two is the most dangerous for those around you because you start to develop your powers, thing is you can control them. Basically you could turn into a pyro-kenetic maniac and would be fully aware of what you are doing, but have no will to stop it. Three brings fortunately control of what you’re doing, just not when it happens. So instead of you burning your grandma’s kitchen down on ignition and then going after the rest of the house, you’ll just burn down the kitchen. Four, five, and six gives you total control of your actions just not your potential.
That’s almost exactly what I told my friend Josh after he had come out of his comma. He just sat there and stared at me. When he did finally speak it was nothing I wouldn’t have expected. What threw me was his seriousness when he said “Please tell me you’ve just fried your brain on computer games again”. No humor in his voice, no emotion in his tone, nothing.
Maybe it was because I looked much older than last he saw me. I was in my late teens when he went under and was now in my mid twenties. Half our friends had moved away or gradually just drifted out of contact.

there might be a seventh level but then again maybe not, i mean its a possiblity but im not sure if its likely or not -hahaha i love it i got some on a cliff hanger, im not sure if i could even finish a book though; let only a series. dude i can almost here the begging in voice at the part rofl its fun doin this!!!

even though i havent really given any actual story updates in a while im not gonna be doin it any time soon. im gonna go back and rewrite alot of it, change the story a good bit, alot is gonna stay the same but im redoing how the shattereds' symbols/level thing is gonna work
[spoiler- its gonna work less level-up rpg system and more or less kinda like moodrings].
also im thinking about just making the name "shatters" instead of "shattereds i guess ill put a vote thing up, let the 3ppl that look at this decide, well thats all dont expect the new soon but do expect a new story[plot]
