I prefer the Pink Noise because it has added low freq. but they can both be used in essentially the same way.
I haven't tried it for the soul fact that i don't really care to, but what you do is turn it on and raise the volume JUST until you don't have background noise.
And after that you start asking questions and you will get answers.

 What are some of the differences between white and pink noise? White noise I've heard of but not pink noise, so care to explain it a bit more?

Ohhhh very cool! Pink noise reminds me of the ocean.
Can you clearly distinguish the answer as male or female? Because I wonder if you can if you'd tend to get a girls answer for what are considered stereotypical girl colors like say pink.
