I'm debating whether or not I want to blow 1Mil. Penya on a collector...thoughts, opinions? Also, are they tradeable and how often do you really get sunstone or moonstone pieces? heart Thanks heart

If you don't have the penya or cash to spend on getting a +5 collector and the week-long batteries, I would say that collecting isn't really worth the time or effort. Without the +5 collector, you collect too slowly to get the most out of the NPC batteries (a measly 30 min) and assuming you're able to get your hands on a Cash Shop battery, you're going to want to have the +5 collector to get the most back from your money. That being said, there are tons of people who have already benefited from collecting (I've seen shops selling several stacks of 99 Ocean cards), but if you cannot AFK collect for several days, your time and money are better spent just grinding and hoping you get drops.
Yes, you can trade collectors.

Another question...
A friend of mine just got a collector, and she used the 70k battery you get from the npc. Now, I had read that the batteries recharge...but she can't figure out how that happens. So, do the batteries recharge, or do you have to spend 70k every time, because that seems ridiculous.

((The batteries themselves don't recharge. You need a new battery in order to recharge the collector. So you have to buy a new battery once the previous one reaches zero.))

That sucks...how can anyone afford that? Sigh. Well, I think my friend is going to sell hers now...do you have any idea how much a +1 collector would sell for?

Well, I sold my Collector for 900k and someone else for 800k so people will take it if it saves them a little Penya. With that in mind, I would say make sure you sell it at a million or a million + since a regular one starts at a mill with the NPC. I lost a lot of Penya dealing with that Collector. Since I stopped buying envelopes from Gaia, I think I might pool my money into Flyff, but $20 doesn't get you much in Flyff...even with that damn battery.
Oh, and when I was collecting it pulled a piece every 2 minutes so you can do the math for yourself on that one. A +1 would be faster.

:3: @joshuawy: A collector is like a vaccum. Those areas that are shiny and stuff is the collecting area. They are 1mil each *Or you can find one for a lil less if someone is selling it* and batteries are 70k. You stay there for 30mins and collect stuff like card pieces. @choco: I bought one so when I go AFK for a while I just start using my collector. I might sell it in the future.

collecting is stupid and personaly i think it should be removed from the game. you'd make wat more moeny killing giants, grinding, or killing CW on the occasion.

It's worth it if you actually put the time into it.
+5 collectors are pretty cheap nowadays that Collecting has indeed 'died out' because of it's slow money-making nature and they're excellent because you get one piece every 30 seconds. Which means, with one battery that lasts half an hour, you get 59 items with one battery.
I'm actually creating a chart around item frequency, and I've only got about 10 tests done at the moment, and want to do about 100. It'll take awhile, but I'll manage. smile
