have never used downloads before (custom content), and decided i would look at some before getting any, but sims2.com wont let me! it says i need to create an "account" does anyone know what info this asks for? do i have to put in my game # (proof of purchase!)? because i really dont want to give that away. another thing, are the downloads free and safe for my game? I DONT WANT TO RISK MY GAME!!! last thing: how to they work *feels stupid*???
ALSO: will this make my game or computer slower!?!?
ONE MORE THING: how do i get to my downloads folder on vista?

I'm pretty sure when you install each game, it will give you an option to make an account on Sim2.com. Apparently you can also make an account at an option at the top right corner. (pretty sure) You don't have to put in your game...
Downloads should all be free and safe for your game. However I have heard stories from other websites that had viruses in the custom content. Sims2.com however, is 100% safe because it's EA that surveys it.
I know for sims2.com all you have to do is click the download option when you find the CC you want. It will automatically download when you pick save to disk. After it downloads, an EA?sims window will open and at the bottom, there will be an option to INSTALL. Click that and the CC will be in your game/computer. You can find it matching it to what item. If it's a hair CC then when you're in your hair option (I think #3), there is a star/flower button at the top. Click that and all the CC should be in it.
It only matters how much CC you download/install. The more you get, the slower it will make your game. But that really matters how much space is left in your computer. If your computer is one of those really super ones...congrats...it should hold up. Vista I know is pretty good.
Go to Documents and then there should be a file there saying EA. There should be a downloads file in there.
