Softly Dea closed her eyes in resignation and almost palpable relief as she stepped into the mostly quiet shop. It was really quite a relief from the almost constant noise and bustle of her new -well not so new anymore- home. It was a wonder her human had time to take her to shows at all considering the things the foolish woman felt she had to do and take care of! The purple cat stepped to the side of the door to carefully clean the nature from her paws. ugh. That's what happened when one walked outside. Once her paws were clean Dea fanned her golden tail as she stood, ice blue eyes coolly searching for a suitable place to rest while having a proper bath. Ah. There was a plump regal red pillow that would do nicely. Sauntering over Dea climbed upon the plush surface, spreading it out with her toes until it was perfect before laying down upon it. Her maw actually curved in a pleased smile between the comfort and relative silence that surrounded her. Relatively satisfied, Dea set to her usual beautifying routine. Well... without the cream Trel used to bring out the shine of her gold markings, but it had been used only that morning. Dea could no longer be truly upset at the former show Xuxa for suggesting it... for it really did do wonders. Even through a few baths, like now.
So her gold markings were still shimmering slightly as Dea bathed. Every hair, every whisker carefully put into place. She actually began purring in contentment, simply to be her own beautiful self and not hassled. And now... perfectly groomed as well.
Regally Dea curled upon the pillow, ice blue eyes but slits as she half heartedly watched the room. She really was not tired enough to sleep and it was not time for her toning exercises or anything like that. So she did not wish to sleep really, but keep an eye on who may come to the shop this day.

A few minutes after Dea had settled herself on the pillow and was bathing herself, a slight wind picked up outside, and a few wisps of sand blew inside through the cat door. The very next second, a sand colored paw stepped through, a golden band around his ankle and slowly the flap was lifted up by the head of the cat coming through.
Ramses pushed his way inside the shop, not bothering to look around. He didn't have any flashy markings, except for the 'Eye of Ra' on his thigh and the Egyptian patternings around his eyes, and the only symbols to show his true status were the pure gold bands on his front paw ankles.
But he held himself as though was truly king of everything he laid his violet eyes on. It was the way he held his head up, how he walked, how his tail was held and curled in just the right manner, even how his ears were pointed at just the right angle.

mmm? Now what was this? The slits of ice blue watched the sand pelted male's entrance with cool indifference. At least he was a feline of regal bearing. A very regal bearing. Dea almost smiled. Almost. The unknown yet regal male was not looking anywhere, which to Dea was slightly annoying. Half the fun of being a show was being seen. She would be seen. Casually she let the golden fan of her tail spread across the front of her pillow where it would catch the light. Nothing much, but well if he could not notice her than regal or not the male was not worth her time.

The flash of gold off to the side did catch is attention, and for a second, he thought he had finally run into another Desert, since they were the only ones permitted to wear gold to show their status over other FTC's.
What he saw was quite unexpected, and it caused him to pause, violet eyes looking over. He had never seen a female so....flashy in his long life, though the markings on her back were quite elegant, as though they were painted on by human hands.
He looked at her as if he if were looking down at her, like she was a commoner in his kingly presence, his violet eyes having an almost stony bearing to them. Blowing some air from his nose, he turned his nose up at her and walked on further.

Snubbed?!? Snubbed?!? How dare he? How dare he? Internally Dea fumed though she let none of it show. Oh no. To let her hackles rise in indignation to this insult would only mess up her fur. Especially her markings of which she was quite fond. No... raised hackles were out of the question.
But he had dared to look down upon her! And then to turn up his nose at her like that.... just who did he think he was anyway?
Golden ears twitched, tempted to flatten against her head in anger and the very end tip of her tail did flick with very real feline anger. He had however both noticed and looked at her... but Dea was no longer sure that was enough to make him worth her time.
A challenge perhaps? hm. It would be something to pass the time. Could he possibly be any worse than Antonio? Yes. Quite possible. How perfectly annoying. But still... better than the hunters and their kits.
Of course if Dea knew about this supposed 'Desert holding status over other FTCs' she might not bother. Ice blue eyes opened the tiniest bit from the slits they were. [You look that long & yet say nothing?] There is a casualness about her question, as if the tone of her meow indicates more curiosity or indifference. She is certainly not going to let some stuck up male know he got under her skin by snubbing her. Oh no. Bad enough she once lost her composure with that Antonio. In a graceful move her golden fan brushed around the edges of the red pillow she rested upon. Purple, gold, red: the colors of royalty.

Ramses had made his way to one of the bigger windows and with an ease and grace very few cats had, almost like he was flying, he leaped onto the window sill and sat himself down, above everything and looked out the window, the same stony, regal look on his feline face, his body held up right and front paws close together, tail curling underneath him.
His long ear barely twitched when she spoke to him and he didn't even turn his head to look her way, as if he didn't hear her. He then slowly turned his head and looked down on her, figuratively and literally, that same look in his eyes that seemed to say 'you are still beneath me in every way.' He turned his nose up at her again and then slowly turned his head to look out the window, as if surveying his kingdom.
When he did speak, his voice was deep, a husky type deep that wasn't normal on those types of lands, "When I choose to say something, it will be something worthwhile. You have yet to prove you are worthwhile of anything." he spoke.

Yes... he could very well be much worse than that Antonio. But somehow Dea kept her anger within. The show had to remind herself she wanted some sort of a distraction, perhaps even some sort of civil and cultured conversation. Delicately a brow arched, as if this was merely news indeed. [oh?]
Slowly she lifted her cold ice blue eyes to meet the stony violet gaze. Dea would not show how despite the abominable words he had said how she was rather intrigued by this haughty cat's voice any more than she was showing her ire. [and you have?]

Ramses hopped or glided down off the windowsill and stood there on all fours, still giving the female that same, 'I'm better then you in every way' look, "...or...I choose to speak to those I see as equal to me...or need to be treated like a child...." he started making his way toward the kitchen, "You are not my equal in any way shape or form." he said in his usual deep, husky voice.

[well I never...!] The exclamation was out of her before Dea realized it was coming. The tip of her golden tail flicked with the double insult. Fine! He wasn't worth her time after all! Really... she should know better than attempt to start a conversation with anyone. They really weren't worth it. Now she knew better. This was not going to be something she was likely to try again soon... if ever. Oh no. That's what she got for attempting to be sociable. Well then, fine & thank you, Dea would rather not! She would stick to Trelweny or the Princess Maryline's lap. Or the dragon medusa. Yes. Much more fitting company than some stupid desert cat! No matter how nice his voice! Setting her head back casually on her paws Dea closed her eyes so she wouldn't see the desert cat enter the kitchen. She was furious. Deathly furious at the insults and insinuations that were even more insulting...
... and hurt too. Lightly wrapping her tail around her, Dea did not notice the single tear that escaped her eye and hung glittering to the outside of her closed eyelid.

Ramses made his way out of the kitchen, a can of incredibly fancy, exspensive cat food clutched in his mouth and he silently started to trot his way past the one who he stomped all over her feelings. But when he was finally close enough, he stopped, ears forward, violet eyes staring straight ahead. Mentally he sighed, wishing he had better...cat skills, especially in these times. He hated hurting others feelings, especially females, if the lessons he learned at his humans home had taught him anything.
Sighing to himself again, he approached her pillow, and, sitting a few paw lengths away, he put the can down, facing her to show it's contents and then, setting his paw on top of it, he closed his eyes, the eye on his thigh glowing a bit and when he opened his eye, a purple flower, the color of her fur, was laying on top of the can. He smiled at the flower, thinking of his old home, and then he turned and headed back to the window sill, hopping onto it and taking his usual, kingly position, violet eyes staring straight out.

Oh.... she knew when he returned. Hard to mistake the sandy, masculine scent. Dea was not about to open her eyes however. Oh no. She wasn't going to give him the satisfaction! She...
Why was he stopping? Her whiskers flicked but pride (and hurt) kept Dea from opening her eyes. She waited until he was finally gone, a slight little sigh escaping her. Slowly she started to open one eye... and nearly gasped. Her mouth formed a small 'o' as her vision was filled with a lovely and elegantly exotic purple bloom complete with a golden ring about its center. Very slowly, Dea reached out a single paw to touch the soft petals and now she did sigh. It was real and... On a can of her favorite brand. not perhaps her favorite flavor, but certainly one of the better ones. Ice blue eyes softened. A gift? For her? She batted, lightly and uncertainly at the can. No one had ever given her a gift before. Oh sure... perhaps humans did but they did not count. But... had the desert male not gone into the kitchen for his own food? Why...?
Her eyes lifted to the cat in the window, not holding the cold and aloof hardness that was usually there. She looked... touched. [... thank you...] Dea said softly, though loud enough her meow could reach him. Carefully she pulled the flower to her before glancing back at the male. [Would you... perhaps care to join me?] Lightly she pat the can for it was more than Dea liked to eat in a sitting and she was not very hungry really. Now her almost smile -though weak from lack of use- fluttered briefly at the desert male.

Violet eyes contineud to stare outside the window, occasionally scanning the outside world as a bird flew by or a squirrel skittered about between trees. The only indication that he even heard her was a slight flick of his ear and a twitch of his whisker. He glanced over at her, turning his head slowly and then nodded his head. He hopped off the windowsill and made his way over.
"You look much better when you smile, I believe you should do it more often." he said, giving his own round about compliment to her. Glad to see the can was one of the pop top ones, he let out one of his claws and pushed it under the tab, pulling back the lid to reveal the rich, juicy contents inside.

Ice blue eyes watched the sand feline for his reply as she breathed in the scent of the flower near her head where she had pulled it closer. Its multiple petals brushed lightly against her cheek showing just how closely in shade the exotic bloom was to her own fur coloring. Relief stilled some of the faltering in Dea's smile seeing the male nod. She had not known she was waiting for it so. Somehow she managed to watch without staring or even too much anxiety or trepidation as he moved to join her.
Then she had to glance away as that deep husky voice hit her with a multiple whammy. Dea looked at her paw, at the flower that lightly was held there. No cat had ever said something so nice to her (well, maybe Xuxa, but Dea had a hard time considering her conversation with the soon to be former show a 'friendly' exchange) and she was not quite certain what to do or say about it. [...thank you... I...] Dea lifted mildly confused ice blue eyes. She was in unfamiliar territory with kindness. Or rather, in reacting without indifference to kindness. [I shall try.]
It might be difficult. Dea found so few things to smile about. Especially -as she guessed- for the type of smile the desert cat spoke of. Snide or smirking smiles where relatively easy though still rare. And yet... this cat had drawn from her a real smile. The show cat was baffled even as she sniffed at the tasty contents of the now open can as they wafted free. The quiet, gnawing hunger inside her was not for food however. Dea was not quite sure what it was for.
[I am called Dea.] Her name she offered politely, uncertainly. Almost as if she was afraid something would take this moment and spin it on its head. Her cheek never strayed far from the flower as if it was some sort of talisman though held casually beneath one paw.

Ramses took the metal top fully off and set it aside, pushing the can gently towards her, the stony, contemplating look still on his face. He then sat there, tail curling around his legs and then unwinding again as he looked to her, nodding his head when she gave her name.
"I go by many names, but I prefer Ramses." he said in his deep voice, bowing his head in his own type of greeting.

Instead of being angry she lightly studied the male's stony contemplative look while glancing at the can he pushed nearer. Somehow... well perhaps...
Dea closed her eyes slightly as she sniffed the food appreciatively only for them to open once more at the sound of that voice to watch him say his own name. There was an almost sweet smile on her face as she repeated his name. [Ramses. I like it.] Yes, there was a hint of the 'typical' Dea that held that her opinion was of course very important, but it was curbed somewhat by the soft smile that lingered as if a stranger upon her maw. It was honest enough, and the show did not seem aware of its existence.
Being mindful of the flower Dea reached her head and neck gracefully forward to nibble delicately of the food. She really could not eat much though, not really having been hungry and not having a huge appetite normally, however she did try to eat more than just a taste or two.
