The FTAA shop was quiet that day, the only occupants were a sleep Tsuki close beside the basket that contained his mate and his 5 newborns that were clustered around each other and close by their mother. Naruto was sitting on a chair, close by, his blue eyes on the sleeping family, Kyubi perched on his shoulder, tucked against his neck.
He was quiet, a contemplative look on his face as he waited for Seifer. He choose the shop because it was some sort of middle ground, a neutral spot if you will, especially with newborn kittens residing there, the shop owner, staff and Tsuki would probably do them both damage if any harm came to the newborns or their mother.

Seifer Almasy strode into the shop with what appeared to be his usual casual indifference. He had not been back here since the day he had 'arrived' one could say. He had not felt the need. Now there was a need.
Anyone accustomed at all to the gunblader would notice an immediate difference to the way he walked regardless of how close he kept himself to 'normal'. There was something very clearly missing. Any warrior would see it: how the gunblader was unarmed. And though he tried not to show it, Seifer was very much feeling the absence of Hyperion from his side. Blade marked ears flicked uncomfortably as he turned to the ninja. There was an odd mixture of relief and a frown upon his face. Sighing heavily -and being aware of the kittens & avoiding them completely- Seifer grabbed a simple backed chair and crossed the space between him & Naruto. Spinning the chair backwards Seifer straddled the back, resting his arms crossed on top as he looked the shinobi over. His face twitched, knowing he should say something like 'thanks for meeting me' or something along those lines and yet being unable to actually say them. "We need to talk."
He frowned, dissatisfied with his own words. Heart to hearts were not exactly his forte. "Relm's special."
Again, not really what he wanted to say but perhaps it would be enough of a starting block.

Naruto heard him come in, heard him bring a chair over, heard him sit down and heard him speak, but he still didn't look at him, not making any hint he knew he was there, his blue eyes still on the sleeping family.
"Don't need to tell me twice..." he said in a low tone, blue eyes finally turning to look at Seifer, but whether he was refering to Seifers statement of they needed to talk or Relm being special, he didn't give an indication.

The gunblader let out a heavy sigh. He knew this was not going to be easy... but he hated being proved right about it. Scowling he cast his eyes to the right, not really wanting to look into Naruto's blue eyes at that moment.
"Never had anything 'gainst you." He said at last, gruffly, even as blue eyes returned to meet blue eyes.

"You know, you could have really fooled me." he said, folding his arms in front of his chest and leaning back in his chair, not in the mood to act jovial or scared.

Seifer's scowl deepened. "Look... didn't matter who you were. Could've been anyone. Soon as Relm..."
He growled suddenly, soft and low. "Damned pictomancer means more to me than I like to admit, okay? You could've been a god for all I'd care and I'd've reacted the same damn way! Dammit it was just too damn much to witness!"
Beneath black gloves knuckles tightened gripping the back of the chair.

Naruto's blue eyes went over to Tsuki, his own silver eyes open, but not moving from his curled up position next to the floor. He knew the hunter could hear them, and was giving them a look that basically said, 'Watch what you do and say...'
Naruto looked away, staring off, "So, what do you want from me?" he asked.

The chair creaked from the force of his gloved hands upon its back. "From you? From you? Not a damn thing!" Blue eyes were narrowed, Seifer seeming to have forgotten about the existence of anyone else in the place. Growling softly he closed his eyes. His breathing was too controlled, as the gunblader tried to keep his emotions somehow in check. "I'm trying to tell you... maybe explain... Look I don't know all right? I get upset 'cause I'm worried you're going to hurt her and this s**t about something in your past comes up that I could give a rat's @$$ about that just blows everything out of proportion. I know about bad stuff happening in the past. I don't need to know what the hell happened in yours though I bet I could find out if I wanted. You need to know it has nothing to do with anything I've said or done, got it? NOTHING. I could care less, unless it's something that could hurt Relm which if it is you had damn well better tell me, get it ninja?"
His voice dropped, barely reaching the ninja. Seifer's whole countenance seemed to shift. He was still Seifer -still hard, still tough- but there was something else there as well. Something almost tender. "What would you do... if that little pink girl from the park was all grown up, getting close to some guy? Even if you liked the guy... could you just sit back and watch them fondling on their first date? I was doing my damnedest to have patience at the park... to see you guys get together knowing how you both cared for each other. I'm not against you Usimaki. Could say on some level I'm for you. Just couldn't... wasn't ready to see... that. Not Relm... not... the only sister... ever gave a damn about..." Seifer was looking down, which basically put his narrowed blue eyes somewhere along the vicinity of Naruto's crossed arms.

Naruto listened, he knew he had to, just to see where Seifer was finally coming from, to understand why he always seemed to be all over him most of the time. At first, he really didn't understand, but when he brought up Katsumi, his blue eyes went wide and then settled down in something that could only be deciphered as understanding.
If he watched Katy grow up and then some male showed up, courting her, he would be all over him to make sure his little one didn't get hurt in any way.
But still, he did everything he could not to let his 'before' influence how he was now, even with Kyubi beside him instead of locked away inside him. His family insisted he tell Relm, so she could understand, like Rikku understood for the Audio Naruto, but he still refused, something inside scared Relm would never look at him and Kyubi the same, especially his Kyubi.
".....I would rather die then hurt Relm..." was all he could think to say, looking straight into Seifers eyes.

Seifer huffed, blue eyes meeting blue eyes. He couldn't even get angry. Not really. "Think I don't know that?" Another huff, almost more of a sigh. Narrowed blue eyes looked pained. "I lost it, okay? I know she loves you. I know you love her. But seeing you guys that close on the first date... dammit but I know where that leads! That she was instigating it only made things worse 'cause I couldn't yell at her for it. So you got the full brunt of it. Really thought you'd just listen to me. That's all I wanted: you to end the date on something more innocent that I could accept and pretend maybe I'd never seen her being all over you like that. I know sooner or later you two will... but like hell I want to be thinking about it."

"Don't you think I know that!! But that sure as hell doesn't give you the right to take out on me!! I know we were getting heated, it's just...." he wasn't sure how to word it. He let out a sigh and slumped down, running his hand up and down his face.
"Look, all I want to do is make Relm happy, that's all I have ever wanted to do." he said in a whisper.

He growled and gripped the chair as the ninja yelled back at him, trying to keep in check on one hand and on the other almost... glad to see the runt showing some backbone. It was an odd combination. Squeezing his eyes shut Seifer breathed out heavily listening to the shinobi's whisper. "I know. If I wasn't damn sure of that do you think I'd let you near her? I want her happy too. That's why I asked for this, ninja. For her I'll try to clear things up between us, which believe me is not something I'm prone to do. You make her happy and that there's bad blood between you & me does not so the least I could do was try to reach some sort of understanding 'cause no matter how you look at it I'm the over protective big brother and you're the punk that's stolen her heart!"
Then in that moment, with that exclamation, Seifer switched. He became almost sheepish, like a lost or caught little boy tilting his head away. An odd smile touched his lips. "Damn... don't know where that came from. Never expected... to say that. Hadn't really thought it. Damn you, Usimaki. Damn stupid pictomancer. Getting me to admit something like that..."

Naruto almost laughed over Seifer calling him a little punk, finding it amusing instead of insulting. He was about to say something back when the sound of a tiny, crying mew caught his ear and he snapped his head to the basket, eyes going wide when one of the kittens woke up, probably from all the growling and yelling, and she moved her head about, as if lost, eyes still tightly shut.
Tsuki growled darkly at the two, his silver eyes looking at them like he wanted to tear them apart for waking up one of his daughters and he stood up from where he was laying and went to gently groom her head, quieting her down and nudging her to her mothers belly so she could feed and go back to sleep. He watched all the kittens quietly, looking over his shoulder back at the two anthros, as if their size didn't matter, he would tear them apart if they woke up anymore of his kittens an upset them.
Naruto shrunk down in his seat, blue eyes wide as he glanced at Tsuki from the corner of his eyes, knowing what a mother cat was like when they were protective of their kittens and not wanting to take a chance with the father, especially a devoted one like Tsuki. He watched as Kyubi hopped off his shoulder and fluttered down to the floor, sitting on the edge of the basket, which to Naruto was quite bold, especially when Tsuki made no move to make her leave.

Blue eyes flicked at the noise and Seifer groaned softly, landing his head heavily on his hand even as he shook it from side to side. Dammit. Now he was waking kittens up! Rune would be disappointed in him... dammit couldn't he do anything right? Bad enough she was the only Rune in the family without young of her own. Sure the kitsu's was really those she carried for her friends, but it still made her a mother. Something he couldn't give his Rune just because of what they were. Sure... she said she wasn't bothered by it... but Seifer saw it when they were playing with Refies and Nahnia. The slightly sad look that would come to her eyes. If they could... oh how he would.
But that was neither here nor there.
"Look. Maybe we should take this outside. Not to fight...." The gunblader snorted. "Just outside."

"Yea, that is probably a good idea..." he said, slowly getting out of his seat as Tsuki turned to watch them with a predatory gleam in his silver eyes, making his way for the door, knowing Kyubi would be fine on her own.
