I'm sorry for notbeing active. I've stopped coming to Gaia because it's gotten boring. If you want to contact me, I can be found at: Carmelmarxist@yahoo.com

I recently read a small article on dialectic thought. Essentially it's thinking outside the box, and away from common knowledge. Darwin was a dialectic thinker. People thought things that had no legs, but fins and lived in the oceans were fish. He studied, and concluded that some fish HAD legs and lived out of the water for a while. He took something that was supposedly common knowledge and changed it to be more accurate.

I'd like it if all of you would go out and change not only the way you perceive your fellow man, his actions, and his surroundings. I went out into my city that supposedly was remaking the entire city to become a "biking city". They had 2 laned streets and everything that was important was put within 3 square miles, including 4 parks, 7 playgrounds, 2 water parks, and a few art galleries. Unfortunately though, after riding my bike around for a while, not everything was as it seemed.

The mayor played off our city as a glorious crime free zone, but all he did was put a fresh coat of paint on the city, and swept all the crime into back ghettos. I saw a back alleyway that led into an old demolished courtyard where there was a congregation of bums, deadbeats, and drug users, just sitting around. Cops walked past the alley, but they were sucked into the scene and never did anything. People were beaten, but noone was they for their defense. People were robbed and extorted, but the man never once paid attention unless they had money.

That's why I'm trying to live less worldy. I'm trying to cast off my material possessions and give more to those who I don't even know. If you see someone in trouble go out to help them. If someone tries to help you, or pamper you, cast them off and apologize. Don't make others strain to help you. A little off topic, so I'll get back on track. Anyway, the whole point of this little article was to look beyond the veil of society and see things for what they are, not for what you are told they are. Don't ever trust something that scores of people are doing unless you do some research to find out if it's all it claims to be.

Yeah I agree, I do the same thing but I don't have much to give. I hang out with a lot of homeless guys, friends that dropped out back in high school, whatever, but I always share what I can.
