((Because of issues involving name recognition on my dice roller, I will be rolling under "gaia duel" for the duration of the tournament at Invisiblecastle.com. All out of charecter and similair thoughts will be place in double parenthesis so you can easily pick out my battle actions.))

Initiatve=4

As your intitiative is at least 5 (1+4=5) you automatically win initiative over me, and may post your first round's actions.

((Edit: and I see you got a 24...well, that beats me by a full 20, game on!))

Jeran Pulls the bow off his back and notches an arrow.
"Let's see if we can't take you down with little trouble."
He pulls the string and lets the arrow fly, then moves 20 feet to the side.

Ha! Take me down with little trouble!? Psssh, you're dreaming friend.

Stephan pulls his tower shield up to easily deflect a poorly-aimed arrow and remains ducked behind it, completely shielded by the massive tower shield. He reaches for a potion in his belt.

We'll see how you feel in a little bit now won't we?

Ok, Stephan opts to use the tower shield for its secondary function: granting total concealment. Stephan cannot make attacks while using the shield in this fashion, but he cannot be targeted by attacks, either melee or ranged, as long as the shield remains in the fashion. He can be targeted by area of effects. His shield, however, can still be targeted for disarm attempts, sunders, etc.

Stephan uses his move action to withdraw a potion of bull's strength. He then takes a standard action to drink it, raising his strength by 4.

In an aside, Stephan will continue to drink potions for two more rounds, drinking next a shield spell, and then an enlarge person. This means that you can effectively skip my next two turns of posting to save you time. You can take two turns of action if you want to prepare/target the shield. After those two rounds, on the fourth round of combat, the shield will lower and you may attack as normal.

Jeran will ready to shoot when stephan reveals himself
"I see you hide behind your sheild instead of fighting."
As soon as he get's a shot he will take it then drop his bow and take out his shield and sword.
The roll is for the attack.....
stare and there's another 'Great' roll brought to you by the gain dice system....: total 12..... sad

Stephan drinks two additional potions, presently safe behind his wall-like tower shield. He tosses the vials behind him, where they shatter upon landing. The most recent of his potions has made Stephan grow to double his size, giving him a clear reach advantage. He stands, and hastily unloops his arm from the shield, dropping it to the floor of the arena. He is rewarded by an arrow that clanks harmlessly off of his silvery-white mithril chain shirt.

He draws his sword with a practiced ease, and then lets his emotions get the better of him. A chaotic rage envelops him, and Stephan charges forward, swinging his blade at his opponent at a distance farther than his oppentent can swing. Unfortunatly for Stephan, he is still getting used to his larger form, and his ill-coordinated blow is barely deflected through the skillful use of a steel shield.

Ok, during the fourth round of combat Stephan takes a free action to drop his tower shield. This is where Jeran gets a bow attack at Stephan, but an attack of 12 misses (cursed Gian dice and all that). Stephan then draws forth his greatsword, which has now been enlarged by one size catergory, raising its damage, as a free action due to his quick draw feat. He then flies into a rage as a free action, and uses a charge action to draw within 10' of Jeran (a charge must stop at the closest possbile space). Since he charged this round, he gets a +2 to his attack rolls, but his AC for the next round is now 17.

Attack=18

((Hmm, it seems invisble castle dice arent working so well either. That was a 3 sad oh well, i suppose that Stephan is now sufficiently "buffed," but I would rather have hit...curse your quick-drawn shield xd ))

[oh wow...I feel meek....]
Jeran felt the sting as stephans sword punded into his sheild, he decided that the only way he was going to defeat this opponent was going to be to wear him down, He brought his sword back to a position that would allow it to slightly deflect blows his sheil to a place that it could be used most effectively and moved his feet into a better position for defense.

Jeran went into total defense, adding a 4 dodge bonus to his ac.

((lol, don't be, you've made a far better charecter than many people i've seen on gaia, and I take a good deal of pride in my charecter-creation abilities.))

Stephan sees the briefest flash of fear in his foes eyes and knows that he has an opening. As his foe raises his sword in a defensive manner, Stephan really does feel a little sorry for the man; surely the man had not expected as veteran a fighter as himself.

Remember that should you call for mercy, and lay down your weapons, I will lay off immediately.

Having left his oppenent with a way out of his predicament, Stephans concience is more at ease as he brings his sword up for another powerful blow. This time he is more coordinated, and although Jeran makes cunning dual use of sword and shield, the sheer brutality of Stephans attack plows past his defenses with enough momentum to pierce the heavy armor beneath.

Attack=28

Because of its large size, Stephans greatsword hits for 3d6 damage and since it's a double-handed weapons, 1.5 times his strength for a total of 3d6+12 (str=+8 )

Damage=18

[[Yeah....I was expecting to be putting up more of a fight though...this is just not right...and you're right, you've got what ]]
He dropped his sword and let his sheild slide of his arm. The last blow had slipped through the plate and dug deep into his side.

I have dropped my weapons, I am no threat to you.

It was a gamble, but it was what had earned him his title, and he wasn't about to fight fairly. His arms slumped down to his sides and he dropped his head, as if in defeat.

Jeran attempts to bluff and get Stephan off his guard, he'd fought people like him before, and he knew that if you could outlast them then they get exhasted very easily.
[[-big sigh- From now on I will not be using gaia's cursed dice system...just my luck....if I would've made the change to the dice you're using, I would've got a 16....lame....]]

Sense Motive=18

As his opponent drops his weaponry, Stephan cannot help but note that the dangerous fire in his oppenents eyes has not gone out; still, he must honor his word.

A quick battle, but well-fought friend.

Stephan reaches down to pick up the discarded sword, thinking the battle over, as well as the shiled.

Well-fought indeed, just to clarify then, you honorably surrender the battle?

Stephan will use a free action to sheith his sword due to quick-draw. Next, he will take a move action to pick up Jeran's longsword, and then his standard action to pick up the shield. You are allowed an AoO both times if you choose to take advantage of it. If Jeran surrenders, Stephan will give him back his equipment and walk out of the arena. If otherwise...
PostPosted: Sun Apr 20, 2008 4:12 pm

Jeran notices his hand drop down reaching for the sword and rushes forward in a tackle, using his body weight and the spikes on his full plate as a weapon. He put all his effort into it, Trying to keep stephan occupied so that he wouldn't get out that deadly sword again.

Jeran is initiating a grapple, yeah I know, desperate times means that I need to try and keep that dam sword out of your hands.

((yes, well, Stephan also has a monk's 1d6 unarmed strike and a +20 grapple modifier, so only slightly less deadly))

Grapple Check=40

Stephan lets loose a roar of fury at the tretchery, and easily throws Jran away like a pitiful rag doll. He finishes the action of picking up Jeran's sword, and then uses his foe's own weapon to strike at him. Even without his shield and sword though, Jeran manages to avoid injury as the borrowed longsword falls just short of piercing his armor

Lying fiend! No quarter!

Attack=17

As Stephan needed only a move action to pick the sword up, and easily deflected your grapple with a roll of 20+20=40, he can then use his standard action to attack with Jeran's own longsword. Sadly, he misses by exactly one (on a roll of four).

((who says you're lucks ran out?))
