My brother and I had this discussion a while back. His conclusion: I'm the only evil person he's ever encountered.

In English we had to read this story called "The Possibility of Evil"
Apparently we were suppose to assume that an old lady that sends letters that have Messages that are only skimming the line of being brutally honest, makes her evil, but then there was revenge where one of the families recieving letters came and destroyed her rose bush.
I don't Understand how being brutally honest is Evil?

There is no true thing such as evil, because evil is a state of mind, and what is evil to me, does not mean it's evil to you.

My brother's argument is that nobody does something that they think is 'evil,' or even 'bad.' If there is a feeling within them that what they're doing is wrong, they've justified it for some reason; it's better that way or whatnot.

evil is just a word used to describe an act or object that is just to abrupt for a peaceful few.

Oh wow, I forgot I posted this in here. Isn't there anyone that thinks there is evil in the world? A few people I've had a rant-off with say there is evil in the world, since some actions carried out are seen as bein' evil by both the viewers and the one carryin' it out, but they do so because they want to be evil.

<3 Basically, he's right. People we generally think of as evil don't think of themselves that way. But sometimes they know they are doing things that won't meet with general approval. Which is why the Nazi leadership kept the death camps a tight secret.
