The day was quiet and warm, and that is how the female preferred. She loved her home very much, loving the acceptance, fun and pure randomness that seemed to occur on a daily basis. But sometimes she just needed quiet, and sitting beside the almost endless lake helped her clear her thoughts.
She wasn't tall by any means, almost a tad bit shorter then Naruto himself, but she could swim just as good or better then the Ayens in her family, the otters being the only exception at swimming masters. Her fur made her look like a cat that took on the skin of an exotic fish, her body perfect for swimming.
She kicked her webbed feet about, not minding that her pants were getting wet, she liked it better that way. She flopped onto her back, letting out a sigh as she silently wished that someone else was around.

Already deep within the water, his red eyes burning out into the distance of the murk, Raphael was amusing himself as he swam, keeping his body in shape. Of course with Akamichi around that was easy, but when it came to getting any activity out of the others... Akiva was always trying to get him to speak and that little egg and the new kitten were driving him completely insane.
Since he was the only anthromorph he was instantly responsible for all of them, making sure they ate and such. Akiva's master did that for her but not for the kitten and Aka.
Breaking from beneath the water, Raph stared off into the distance. He was close to shore, but his eyes peered out towards the ocean far beyond.
He was a tall gangly looking thing, green with freckles on his cheeks below the red bandanna and on his shoulders. His body was lithe and trim, almost moreso than necisarry. However Raph wasn't as nice he appeared, neither was he mean. Just somewhere stuck inbetween.
Right now he was sliding more towards irritated.

Deciding a dip in the water might do her some good, she rolled herself and then slipped into the water, barely making a ripple as her body glided into the cool liquid. She closed her eyes as she rolled into her back and let herself just float, her hair spreading about her and glinting in the sunlight, above and under the water.
Taking in a breath, she rolled and then dove down, gold eyes opening wide as she swam, not having any real destination in mind. She just loved to swim, whether it was as far as her body could handle or wading around on the surface, she was born for the water.
Right now, since she didn't feel all up to throwing up hunter instincts, she didn't know someone else was in the water with her, swimming about. She let her eyes drift shut as she rolled to just float under the water, expertly holding her breath and keeping it there until she needed to breath again, which wouldn't be for a good while.

Crossing his arms for a moment, Raph let himself sink back below the water. The water loving cat was more than capable of holding his breath and keeping himself afloat for more than a half an hour, however right now he didn't feel like doing so. All he felt like doing was floating.
So the ocean took control.
Raph's body went limp, being dragged along by the waves and tide lazily, his eyes closed. It seemed that he kept falling lower and lower into the water, his body being nothing but muscles made it a little bit harder for him to stay afloat, thereby being harder to swim.
But he didn't mind. With his eyes closed and his breath circulating by itself in his lungs, Raph merely floated slowly towards the dark ocean below, looking like a dead body sinking in the water.

Because she was 'sleeping' in the water, she didn't feel the different current or the slight difference in temparture as her body slowly floated toward the males. She didn't react until her body brushed against his, and in a snap, she straightened up, the jewel on her forehead glowing brightly in response.
Her gold eyes looked at what she had touched and she immediately started for the surface, breaking through it and getting a breath before diving back down.

Half asleep and dazed, Raph had failed to notice just how much time had passed and how far he'd floated along in the water. Certainly he could have gone quite a distance in the time that he'd closed his eyes.
It wasn't that he was afraid of how far he'd gone or how little air he had left, it was that he'd been gone for so long.
None of this forced his eyes open until he felt a brush of fur and the backdraft of a current as a large body moved away from his own lightning quick.
That was an indicator if nothing else. Raphael's eyes snapped open and his body twisted in the water, his bandanna's folds flying out behind him as his tail curved so he'd be able to strike out easily.
Yet no one, nothing, was there.

She dived back down to where she encountered...whatever it was she had touched. She didn't really get a good look, too much in a panic to get away. Now that her jewel was glowing brightly, making the white of her fur almost glow against the black, she floated above whoever else was in the water.
She tilted her head curiosly as she floated above him, only a few yards away, blinking under the water as the current moved her hair about. Seeing anthro's was nothing new, her human had 3 and she had seen others of another family. But to see anthro that was of the water...this truly surprised her. As long as she could remember, she thought she was the only one of her kind and had held out that she would be alone in that fact.
But here, floating close by was male, of the water, just like her. With a...mask? Why would he need to wear a mask. She aligned herself to swim a little closer towards him, finned tail slowly manuevering her.

The muscles of his stomach tensed, pulling the skin tight across them as he pulled his sai out. Whatever it was had come back, a bright light glowing down in the murk and gloom of the lower ocean.
Attempting to ignore the fact that his lungs were now steadily burning their disagreeance for his motions after not having filled them for so long, Raph pulled himself taught. The pupils of his eyes widened until the red was merely a sliver, allowing himself to see whoever it was that was coming towards him despite the light that they were giving off.
It appeared to be a female, her hair and tail floating around her while the gem on her forehead gave her a ghostly aura in the deep black that was the ocean. So she was another water just like himself, that at least had some good fortune, but that didn't mean she was nice.
The metal of his sai glinted in the light of her gem, his own dark and useless, hidden beneath the thick fur on his body. However, the mask let her see enough to see that Raph had a deep set to his face, a violent one.

Jetta tilted her head to the other side when she thought she saw something metal. She actually floated herself until she was basically upside down, still looking him over. She then gestured to the surface and she flipped herself and started swimming towards the surface.

Eyes narrowing out drastically, Raph frowned even more and kicked his legs. He was driving towards the surface at a shocking speed, his body streaked by her's as he did so, lungs screaming even louder.
Further and further and further up, Raph didn't even bother to put his sai back on his belt, he merely wanted the air and needed it then. His ears pinned down to his head, his tail streamed out behind him.
Without any ceremony he broke the surface, his lungs filled and he flopped back down again, eyes closed and face screwed up in an odd expression somewhere between a frown and relief.
His lithe body was merely floating on the surface as he panted and heaved for air, his bandanna strings floated out beside his head and all of his thick fur seemed to make him fluffier than normal.
Raphael heaved a sigh and twisted his body so he could peer back down into the water, worried that she might have followed him all that way that quickly.

She squeaked under the water, letting out a few bubbles when she saw him 'streak' past her in a blur of red and green and she blinked as she floated there, watching him. 'He must have stayed under longer then his lungs can handle. I hate it when that happens to me too.' she thought to herself.
With a swish of her tail, she made her way to the surface at a slower pace, breaking the surface without as much flair as he did. She took in a discreate breath, closing her eyes as she floated there, back to him.
She then opened them and turned to face him, a kind smile on her face as she waded in the water, "It sucks that we don't have gills, or we could stay in the water all the time!" she said in a friendly manner, her hair sticking her face and exposed shoulders. The gem on her forehead had extinguished for now.

Now he was thoroughly confused, his red eyes showing it and his body language screaming it. Both of his sai were in his belt again, his eyes wide and both of his ears at the sides of his head. One of the large ears he had twitched a bit, his fur fluttering in the air.
"Who are you?" Raph asked finally.
He'd gone and gotten over the initial shock of meeting her, at least a tad. Now he was into 'is she a threat' mode.
Sure he was safe when he went back to his own home, he could protect things there, knew the lay of the land there. Knew everything from the way the grass grew in patches to how the wind would blow around the house.
He had traps and knew defensive ways to protect his family... but here in the middle of the ocean was different. He was with a strange female that he'd never met before, staring at her with large red eyes that were steeped with confusion and teenage awkwardness.

She blinked at him in slight confusion, long ears perked up high over her head. She then gave an easy smile as she continued to float there, "My name is Jetta! What's yours, if I may ask?" she questioned, moving herself so she could float her on back.

This little female was very familiar, at least in her approach to others. She didn't look like anyone he'd ever met, he'd never even seen another female that stood on two legs. Haruka was the only other thing he'd seen walk on two legs, and the pirate teen was always away, always sleeping in graveyards.
Now he was face to face with an aquatic cat like himself, but she was also a female. How that was even possible made his mind reel.
"Um.. Raphael.... Where'd you come from?" Raph stuttered out at last, seeming as if he couldn't speak despite being rather eloquant himself.
It was amazing how many out there assumed one was stupid just because they rarely spoke. It made his life a lot easier.
Except that it seemed his life was about to get more confusing if this was the only other aquatic female there was out there...

She continued to float as she closed her eyes for a moment and then looked over at him, "Well, where I actually come from, I am not quite sure. Everything is a bit hazy and fuzzy before I came to my human. But I live not to far from here, and my family is big. So big sometimes I just need to go someplace where it is quiet and not hectic." she explained.
She then righted herself and swam a bit closer, tilting her head in curiousity, "Where are you from? I can honestly say, I haven't seen another aquatic that stands on two legs." she asked.
