Ren was wallowing in his mansion in england when the phone rang it was the Government, They had reasons to believe that the Kira case might not be over... they couldn't contact Near. Ren hastily accepted. Now to track down near, it wasn't that hard he had been exalted as a hero any fool with the eyes could have killed him. First to find out where Near had been staying.... The school for incredibly gifted children that Near had claimed was his training it was a good start.

Ren was just about to get into his limo to the airport. When ren opened the door he saw a dead CIA agent. "Now that's odd" thought Ren. Ren then called an Ambulance, after the autopsy decided he died of a heart attack Ren knew that Kira was not dead. but where was he? It was possible that the Agent was at doorstep on purpose but for some reason Ren thought it more likely to be a coincidence. Ren Returned to his mansion, Near would definitely be dead by now if the Newest Kira was taking out CIA agents, but why? There were still criminals and no agents would be on his trail this soon after the First Kira case. Ren decided to take a background check, there it was the agent had at one point been convicted of Murder but had been released and returned to duty on Good behavior. Because the first Kira was dead this must be an impostor. but how to find him? Ren deided to wait and watch when Kira would strike next.

Ren thought, If only the new Kira would reveal himself then I would have a start but anyone could have acquired a Death note and resumed his work.

By now Ren had set up a command of sorts in his basement, and had several employees and many computers and other news programs running. After watching the new kiras video broadcast he thought "this greed is imitating kira, so if I look at kira's next move I suspect that it will be greeds" Ren then began a search of Kirs actions near the beginning of his reign.
