Prompt
The time of year is early spring. Most of the snows have now melted and with them brings the blooming of flowers and the awakening of life renewed. You are among a group of Taes are out exploring when you come upon a stream leading into the mountains in the north east of the island. As you follow the river up through the mountain and mist, you come across a secluded valley which is lush with growing vegetation and many strange sounds come to your ears.
You all hear a soft voice in the wind speak unto you. "You are the first of your kind to journey here. I call upon thee to giveth names to all you see. All I ask is to use good judgment." The voice then fades off as if it were never there.
(That's right, you get to name and even create what lives in this valley. remember that if one person sees something, another cannot see it as something completely different. when it comes to naming, if there are more than one name, you must in character decide which name to use. As a basis, there are currently NO other intelligent or magical creatures in this valley or anywhere else on Savah Arda with exception of NPC's. You can be creative, just use good judgment and have fun smile
PROMPT REQUESTS
If you would like a future prompt in this thread, for example, you want your Tae to see something but don't have any ideas, you can simply have them see something and then type in large bold letters the word PROMPT At which point noone may post until an NPC gives you the prompt.

(( Well ... I guess I am game enough to start off with the first post in this contest. )) As the sound of the soft voice died away Solstice's ears twitched in confusion. The female telpareon was not prepared for the task that seemed to lie ahead. Already she was craning her neck to peer at the others in her group to see what they thought of the message. Since the voice had disappeared the sounds of life had returned and she let her gaze drift over the valley in question. Keeping her ears open Solstice grappled with the indecision that racked her mind before settling into a supine position.
Who was she to be giving names to things that she knew nothing about? Who was the owner of the mysterious voice that had addressed the whole group? Ever since she had been younger Solstice's boundless curiosity had put her in countless situations that could have proven dangerous. And now here was another such situation and despite the fact that she was possibly more excited to start out ... another lingering thought surfaced. Was she a good candidate for this task?
The feeling of being inadequate made her loathe the wait that now ensued. Gently she nuzzled at her paw before giving it a few perfunctory licks. For now ... she would wait in silence.

Sitting on the crest of the ridge leading into the valley, an adult Taestysia sat straight with his ears held erect and a serious look on his face. His posture may have appeared to be powerful and leading if it weren't for his small size; at about the same height as an enyalie, Minh looked more like a kit playing pretend. The voice that had spoken before had grabbed his attention immediately and now he gazed out at everything before him with a deep sense of importance. If one was close enough, however, they would be able to see clearly the excited trembling of his whiskers and tail tip as he waited to see what would happen next.
Minh didn't know his exploring companions well at all, but had tagged along when he caught the small group heading off together. It seemed exciting at the time, but his fur had quickly bristled with unease when he found himself surrounded by Taes who were twice his size, and because of this he had scarcely spoken a word to any of them. He took a moment to steal a glance at some of the others and was surprised to see the light blue female that had traveled with them was looking a bit unsure of herself. With an inward feeling of superiority, Minh reminded himself that this was a great task they had been handed, and he was ready to accept it!

Isis sat somewhere behind Minh and Solstice who did nothing but stare at the valley. Why are they just standing there? We were told to do something so why aren’t we getting to it? She thought. All she wanted to do was explore this mysterious land place ahead of her. With a sigh she slowly began to descend from the top of the entrance stone by stone to the bottom of valley . As she neared the bottom she began to see weird and strange sights. “Wow all this stuff it’s so beautiful.” She exclaimed. All elated she couldn’t help herself and began to climb up again towards the others. “You guys need to come down here and look it’s amazing!”

Solstice merely flicked her tail in annoyance at the darker blue Tae's excited manner. Who was she to give the orders? Without a word she rose to her feet and started down the path past Isis where she stopped. Her gaze turned back to the smaller male before sighing softly. Perhaps if she were to make the effort of appearing friendly maybe she wouldn't feel alone all the time. Her ears flicked back and forth catching all the new sounds as she observed the valley from a new vantage point - one that was closer to the ground.
Lifting her face to the air she breathed in the scents around her before padding softly away from the others. Solstice would not stray too far from the group she just needed time to herself.
Pushing into the foliage her light blue hide quickly faded from sight. As she trekked further into the brush that hid her from sight strange noises began to emanate from all around and she shrank back. The hairs along her back began to stand on edge as her eyes tracked to the right and left of her position. Was something out there?
Umm ... PROMPT

Aysel had held herself back from the group a little as they traveled. She enjoyed the silence more then listening to the others banter back and forth to each other. Well to be honest it wasn’t completely silent, she could hear all the sounds of spring and she loved them. The birds and bugs buzzing around, other small creatures chattering in the trees; all of these things made her smile and she decided spring was probably her favorite time of the year.
It didn’t take her long to catch up as the group stopped to gaze down at the valley, reaching them just in time to hear the disembodied voice speak to them. Bi-colored eyes looked around to see where the voice had come from but there was no one; no one other then those who had been in the group to begin with. She felt a shiver move up her spine, her fur standing on end at the back of her neck. Looking down at the valley, herself, she wondered why it was up to them. Even if they where the first of their kind to be here, other kinds had been before; why had they not done this already?
It took her a moment before she realized that if the others saw her slight panic they might realize how young she was and send her back. The female had just barely come into adulthood and was still easily unnerved at times. She was about the right size for her age but she was still smaller then some of the others. Her ears perked as she heard another voice, that of one of the group members up ahead. Looking forward she saw the darkly colored female with golden markings and listened to her a moment before spotting the light blue female. She shook her head at the excited Tae's actions before moving forward herself for a better look.
Coming up on the crest of the ridge that over looked the valley, she took a seat beside a rather small male. Her gold and teal eyes scanned over him for less then a second, the action very likely going unnoticed, before she looked down and spoke to herself softly, “ Such oddness. ”

Minh stared, first at the dark pelted female who had, foolishly in his opinion, rushed past the rest of them to explore the valley, then to the tawny female who had decided to plop herself down next to him. His ears fell back slightly at the proximity she had placed herself to him and he rose to his paws and took a few steps forward. "Odd as it may be, this is our mission now," He began in a tone that was colder than he had intended and turned to glance back at the female with dual colored eyes, "If you're scared, I suggest you turn back now and send someone more experienced to take your place. If not, I suggest you take a moment to get your fur under control; it's sticking up all over the place." The smaller male didn't even stop to regard his own bristling pelt as he turned and plunged into the valley after the others.
His ears perked up as soon as the sounds of scurrying creatures and birdwing surrounded him. With the cool grasses beneath his paws and arching fronds overhead, Minh opened his eyes wide and let a bit of a smile flit across his muzzle before pushing forward with an eager flick of his tail. At every sound, he started and turned his attention to the direction it came from. He kept his senses keen for the various creatures that inhabited the area. Before he had gone too far, his attention was grabbed, not by some scampering creature, but by a strangely attractive plant. The small male found himself drawn to it and his head tilted to the side slightly as he craned his neck forward to sniff at it with curiosity.
It was a low-growing plant with large, velveted leaves that spread out beneath a few tall stalks. All along the stalk, at various places bright red flowers and buds were growing, and curving out from the very top of each stalk were two, thin, ribbon-like appendages with beads of liquid clinging to them. As Minh watched, a small bird-like creature flitted down over his head. Its wings were a blur until it landed on the stalk, gripping it with two clawed toes on each foot, and folded them back. Two wings on each side folded over one another, and a long tail fanned out as the creature reached out with it's little hooked beak and snagged the ribbon-like tendril, drawing the end towards itself and at the same time, licking off the droplets.
Excited, Minh took a few steps closer to get a better look at the strange bird and plant; however, in doing so, he alerted the bird creature and it took off with a buzzing of wings. A small cloud of pink-tinted powder erupted into the air with the creature's takeoff, and the ribbon-tendril whipped back into place, spraying a couple droplets over the small male's muzzle. Minh jumped back and blinked at the plant a few times before squinting his eyes to try and see the liquid on his face. When he wasn't able to do that either, he ducked his head and swiped a paw over his short muzzle, smearing the sticky drops from his face to his paw. Sniffing delicately, he found the liquid to have a sweet scent with a bit of a spicy edge to it, but when he licked at it eagerly he was repulsed by it's bitter taste. With a disgusted yowl, Minh shook his head and flicked his tongue out rapidly to rid it of the sticky, foul-tasting liquid. Whatever this plant was, it had a horrid taste and was definitely not edible! Glaring up at the treetops, the small male seethed and thought to himself that the small bird-creature he had seen before had been absolutely nuts to have eaten this stuff willingly.

Aysel stared at the spotted male, her eyes slightly widened for a moment. Listing to his words however her expression turned quickly to one of anger. She watched as he turned and walked away from her, letting out a huffed breath as she spoke to herself. “ Just because I said it was odd, doesn’t mean I’m scared. Just thinks I’m scared because I’m a girl, well I’ll teach him. ” A low growl emitted from her throat as she remained where she was. For now she watched, keeping an eye out or anything interesting but also keeping an eye on the male still.
He wide grin spread over her muzzle as he was hit in the face with something when he scared the bird off. From this far away she couldn’t tell what it was, but watching his reaction to the taste as he tried to eat it was funny enough for her. It was just then that something else caught her attention though and her eyes shifted to see it. There was a small creature floating on the breeze in the colors of green and black. For a moment it didn’t move, merely drifted in the air but then to Aysel’s surprise if folded it half. It did this several times in quick succession, lifting itself higher up before gliding once more. It was a graceful sort of dance.
Forgetting about the rude male for now she ventured down into the valley and towards the little creature. It was very pretty, the green to vibrant and the black accented that green well. It wasn’t hard to keep up with really. With all it’s beauty it was rather slow and it looked so delicate. The tawny female wondered if she might be able to capture it and take it back with her. With her head up in the air Aysel nearly walked head first into a tree, tripping over a small uproot being the only thing that stopped her. Glancing around to see if anyone saw she was glad where there was no one in sight and looked back up to see where the little floater had gone. At first she didn’t see it, her ears groping slightly but scanning the branches her bi colored eyes stopped on a bit of bright green. There it was resting on a piece of a low hanging branch. The piece was round and hung down from the branch. It had a hole in the bottom that some small animal likely make and looked a little unhealthy in color compared to the tree but her little floater was on it.
It wasn’t that high up so turning to the tree she placed her fore paws on it and dug her claws in as she started to climb up. It wasn’t long before she got to the branch, crawling up onto it and moving to where to bulb hung down. She reached down to the little winged creature but it was just out of her reach. Aysel let out a huff and inched just a little closer reaching out again, however in doing so she over balanced herself and slipped off of the branch falling forward onto the bulb before tumbling to the ground.
She hit with a thud, wincing in pain and groaning taking a moment before shifting herself. Nothing was broke, that was good. She was about to push herself to her feet when something soft landed on her head and felt it break in as it hit before tumbling to the ground beside her. Turning to look she eye the piece she had broken from the branch curiously for a second or two. She however was very surprised as she watched a few dozen small bugs with yellow and black strips come buzzing out of it and head straight for her. Aysel was rather quick to her feet when one landed on her hip and bit her. She let out a cry and hightailed it out of there, heading back towards the others as fast as her legs would take her. She couldn’t loss them though, they even seemed to be gaining on her. As one for two of the others came into view she stopped Minh and an idea formed in her head.
Changing her direction she made her way towards the male, then past him.

Having just gotten over the strange taste of the plant, Minh had begun to circle it and twitched his ears at the sound of hurried pawsteps. He didn't have much time to wonder what was going on as the female from before suddenly darted past him, and as he turned to look after her, a loud buzzing sound swiftly directed his attention to what he really should have been paying attention to. Standing still in the middle of the path with his tail tip flicking idley, the small male watched the swarm of tiny creatures with interest; that is, until one of the furious creatures landed on his nose and delivered a sharp pain to it. With a startled yowl, he was instantly in motion, shaking his head and lashing his tail as more of the creatures swarmed onto him. Although many of them could not penetrate his fur with their short stingers, a few of them managed to find skin in his ears and muzzle, causing the poor Taestysia to continue to yowl and hiss in pain. When all of his fighting seemed to be in vain, Minh gave it up and pelted away from the stinging creatures and into a patch of the strange plants he had been studying previously; their sticky-coated tendrils bouncing and swaying as he bolted past their bases. Unknown to him in his mad flight, many of the bees got stuck on the ribbon-like parts of the plants, and many more were unable to keep up with his flight. Eventually, he blundered into a shallow pond and splashed around frantically before he realized what was going on.
Minh lay crouched in the shallow water for some time, soaking wet and smarting terribly from the number of stings he received, and was greatly relieved when the drone of the creatures was no longer present. He sighed to himself and ducked his head into the water for several moments, letting the cool liquid sooth his irritated wounds. When he surfaced again and shook the water from his pelt, he raised his ears and listened for any signs of the others. How far had he gone exactly...?

Alishalauras NPC PROMPTOut from under some heavy brushes a four legged creature with an odd tail comes scurrying out. It sniffs about before digging into the dirt At the parting of the bushes Solstice whipped her body around to face the intruder before giggling softly in spite of herself. Her interest was piqued in this strange creature as it went about it's business of digging. Moving forward one paw-step at a time the blue Taetsysia was able to learn more about this creature. It's fur was a dull grey color and the tail ... well it was strange to be sure. Thin and whip-like it differed in color to a dull pink and Solstice gently prodded it with a paw before taking a step back as the creature instantly rolled over onto it's back.
Puzzled greatly by this reaction Solstice meowed softly at the creature before shaking her head. Less than an hour had gone by and she had already created some sort of disaster. Turning around she began to walk away from the 'dead' animal with a bit of a sadness in her pace. Craning her head to glance once more at the unfortunate 'thing' Solstice's eyes grew wide. The 'dead' creature had disappeared.
'I don't think I even want to know what that was. But since it seems to have disappeared I don't think I'll get the chance to tell the others. But what to call it? It sort of played dead once it realized I was larger than it. Play-dead thing just doesn't have a nice ring to it. I'll think of something later.'

Isis lowered her ears in melancholy. Something told her she wouldn’t get along with this people very well. With only a sigh she began climb her way to the top. Mid way she found another small ledge and sat on it to get another look at the valley except a bit closer. As she scanned she noticed a small stream not far from where Minh was. Excited she quickly climbed back down and began to walk towards it. AS she passed by Minh she couldn’t help to see f he was okay. Taking a few quick glances at him she decided a few bites wouldn’t kill him and continued towards the stream
As she closed in on the stream she notice there was no other creatures near the stream. Some thing must have scared them off. She thought as she came closer to it. Once she was at the streams bank she began to exam the fish in the water. After scanning them a bit she noticed there was only small silver fish in the water. Curios she walked into the water about knee deep. She watched the little fishes swim around her til a sharp pain went down her spine. She quickly turned around to find one of the fish biting into her tai. Facing back forwards she saw the other silver fish where heading for her front paws. . As quick as she came she high tailed it out of the water. Once she began to calm her self down on the streams bank another sharp pain hit her. Turning around she noticed the one little fish was still hooked onto her tail, digging its teeth deeper into her skin. “GET OFF ME!” She yelled trying to shake it off, but the fish still wouldn’t let go. As she continued trying to shake it off she hit her tail hard against a tree and it flew off her tail. It Landing a few feet away from her. She watched as it did a few more flops before finally ding from the lack of water. Closing in on it she saw it had a single row of sharp teeth, a few red with blood. Looking back she noticed the fish did some damaged to her tail. Trying to move it brought her more pain. Turned back towards the stream she sighed. “How stupid am I? I saw those things where the only creatures there I should have noticed It was cause they where dangerous.”

Minh had ducked his head and peeked back at the dark-furred female with a guarded glare as she passed by him, and when she continued on her way without so much as a 'hello', he raised his head and followed her. At the river, he watched with interest as she waded out and began studying something, and his eyes widened just a bit when that something appeared to attack her. Sitting right at the river's edge. his yellow-green eyes tracked the shimmering silver fish as it sailed through the air after becoming dislodged from the female's tale and he wasted no time in scampering over to have a closer look at it. The tangy scent of the other Tae's blood wafted up to him from the strange little creature, but even so, Minh's maw began to water slightly. Fish was very tasty after all. When the dark-furred female also came over to investigate, he took a hasty couple pawsteps back away from it again and watched her to see what she would do next.

Aysel had continued to run for a short ways before she heard Minh’s pained cry. Turning to look behind her she grinned at the sight. Her planned had worked and now the little buzzers followed after the male, only a handful where still after her. Quickly she used her tail to swat those that remained away, watching as the where tossed through the air and hit the ground. When they got up again the flow in circles for a moment before venturing off in another direction all together. She sat there a moment, huffing slightly to catch her breath.
Glacing towards where she had last seen Minh she noted that he was no where in sight. He was probably running as fast as he could, scared for his life. Her grin spread a little though she did feel kind of bad, but her and angered her so. Sighing she stool and turned in the direction she had seen him heading. It didn’t take her long to find the males scent though it was faint but she followed it. Avoiding the bees that had become stuck on some of the plants Aysel soon found the pond in which Minh rested. She watched him from the brush for a moment, careful not to be noticed by the other.
He seemed ok she though as she sat there as he sat there, probably soaking the sores the bees had left in the coolness of the water. Her bi colored eyes shifted as she heard someone else moving through the grass very nearby, spotting the blue furred female. Watching both of them now she noted Minh glare at the other female as she passed by. He really wasn’t a very friendly fellow now was he? However oddly enough he rose to his feet and followed the dark female as she wondered off. Aysel waited a moment before she to followed, still keeping out of sight, stopping at the river when they did and watching everything curiously.
