People who are generally aware of trans-ness know that there is a difference between sex and gender. But I think that there are more dimensions than that.
Sex = physical anatomy, biological
Gender = psychological identity
and I think that there is/should be another one
Gender Expression = gender in a social context.
To better explain, I'll use myself as an example. My sex and gender line up perfectly, I'm comfortable in my body and I don't want anything changed except for health issues. Individually, I'm comfortable and at home in my woman gender and woman body.
Butin a social context, it doesn't fit. I don't know if it's because gender socializtion disgusts me so much or if it's inherent or for some other reason, but I don't feel like I fit into the "woman" category in relation to other people. I feel like I'm somewhere between "woman" and "andro."
For a long time, I tried to convince myself that I am 100% by myself, that humans aren't social beings, that I was basically a hermit separate from other people, etc. But I got over it; we are social beings. It is through social settings that we have survived for thousands of years. So I can't deny this conflict, but I don't really know what to do with it.
