Xerxes couldn't imagine a day less dull in his life. His sister was decidedly absent for the time being, so he needed something to entertain his day. He had taken to walking along the shore, the gentle lapping of the waves bringing him an amount of peace to calm his energetic nature.
It didn't last long before he found a section of boulders dotted along the shoreline. He grinned to himself. He started running at a fast pace, as if he had suddenly decided to outrun himself and took a flying leap to land on the nearest boulder that was large enough to hold his weight after such a quick run. He laughed, exhilarated, and started to leap from rock to rock as if they were his prey and he pounced each one mercilessly.

Eternity had woken just before first light, as she had every morning since she was brought into this world, and watched the sunrise. She always arose early to get the most out of her day, no use sleeping it all away was her thought.
Having gotten up before the sun she had gone and collected her breakfast before returning to her tree top home. Eternity had made her home in an old tree, a hole half way up it. She had reason to believe that her home had once been a owls nest but she had cleaned it out and now called it her own. She’d chosen it because of the view, when she sat alone at night she could watch the sky’s and the ocean around the island. A perfect view she though. The tree was just on the edge of the woods before the beach and most Tae never bothered her hear.
As the day grow warmer and the sun moved higher in the sky she rested. Half of her laying within her den and the other half laying out on the tree branch. She watched the waters and the beach in silence but hearing someone laugh her ears perked up. Her sharp blue eyes shifted as she lifted her head and looked towards the noise. Another Tae, on the rocky area of the beach, sitting on a rock. Oh now he was pouncing the others around him. She couldn’t tell for sure from where she was but her guess was that he was young. She smiled a little at his actions as she watched him. Part of her thought of going down there but another part of her thought it might be rude to intrude on his fun.

Xerxes pounced around on the various boulders, becoming ever more confident and quite cocky in his movements. In one movement, he misstepped and slipped off the boulder he was jumping from and missed the next boulder by making a big splash into the water.

For a moment Eternity smiled, giggling slightly as the young one. Knowing how little ones where, the child would likely get up as if the fall had never happened. However when it didn’t reappear instantly the females smile fell a worried look replacing the amused one. It crossed her mind then that maybe the other Tae had injured themselves. Hit there head of a boulder or such.
The blue female was quick to her feet and jumped from the high branch, spreading her wings and taking to the air. Her double set of wings rustled in the air as she moved then as fast as she could. Taking only a moment to reach the stop the other had been in. Landing on the boulder that the striped one had been going for she looked into the water before jumping in herself and feeling around. Finding the child she snatched the scruff of his neck and pulled him up so his head was above the surface. Swimming him over to one of the lower rocks Eternity pushed him onto it before climbing up herself and looked down at him.
He wasn’t as young as she had thought and he hard rather interesting markings. “ Are you ok? ” Her voice was soft, gentle in tone but full of worry at the moment.

Xerxes was winded when he fell into the water and was grateful that someone was there to help him. He was barely conscious when he heard a voice. He coughed up some water and groaned, "Evil rock..."
He shook his head, trying to regain his bearings and opened his eyes to behold a beautiful blue vision before him, the sun silhouetted her wonderfully. He coughed again to cover up his shock, "Thank you" he sputtered out past his raw throat.
He tried to lift himself to a seated position but could barely lift his head and surrendered to laying down a bit longer.

Eternity let out a breath she hadn’t noticed she was holding until he moved, coughing up water before speaking. A relieved smile crept over her face as she allowed herself to ease back into at sitting position. Though she kept her wings spread to allow them to dry properly and to shield his face from the sun. “ I’m glad you’re ok, but you really shouldn‘t move yet. If you hit your head standing will make you dizzy, you might fall back in. ” She paused a moment knowing she hadn’t had a real close look at his head but she didn’t see any blood. This was a good sign. “ And there’s no reason to thank me, I’m just glad I was around to help. ”

Xerxes grinned at her concern and gave an almighty groan as he forcibly righted himself and stood up shakily. He growled low in his throat as he shook the excess water from his coat. "I'm perfectly fine, just a bit tired... I drank a lot of that saltwater." He made a face and shook his head. "I was simply winded from that rock coming out of nowhere." He gave a goofy, charming grin, trying to make light of what happened. "I'll be fine, once I finally get dry." His face blanched, he liked water enough but saltwater was uncomfortable, matting his fur, giving his mouth a bitter taste and it wasn't even fit to drink for sustenance.
"Useless stuff," he grumbled under his breath and sat down, feeling slightly dizzy but not wanting to admit it, he carried it well enough and asked, "Might you know of a stream or river nearby with fresh water? After being submerged in that bitter sea water it would do well to rinse off the grime."

For all her love of the view from her home Eternity had never swam in the salty ocean waters before so she knew not was what he spoke. Watching him she did note that he looked ok, well other then the part where he looked a little like a drowned rat. Or at least a spiky wet one now that he had shaken off. Her ears perked up at his question and she nodded with a smile. “ Yes I do. There actually a stream not that far into the woods, I can take you there if you’d like? ” Not waiting for his answer the blue female turned towards one of the other rocks and gracefully hoped over to it and away from him before shaking the water from her fur and features. Looking back at Xerxes she motioned for the male to fallow her. “ Come on now, if we hurry we can get there before the salt forms in your fur. ”
Spreading her wings wide she crouched down as if to pounce, and with one great flap and a hard shove off with her hind legs she was air born once more. Heading towards the beach and the forest it looked for a moment like she wasn’t going to bother to wait for Xerxes at all before she suddenly made a sharp turn and circled back again. She lowered herself closer to the male as she neared him again, casting a breeze over his form as she did. “ Your coming, right? ” With that she was once more heading towards the trees.

Xerxes only just now realized how expansive her wings were, he knew she must've had some good strength in her or something to pull him out, but he could never have fathomed those wings. He had seen winged Taes before, but none quite like her with double wings. He realized his mouth was hanging open and shut it with an irritated shake to his head. Come on Xerxes, you're not a kitling anymore, quit that glossy-eyed stare.
Before he knew it she was taking off without him and he groused and growled about that. He didn't like being ordered about or left behind, but he had no choice. He called out to her, "Am I coming? You're not even going fast enough!" He snickered with a charming little grin as he took off at his top speed in the direction she had gone at least he could get a head start.

Eternity chuckled at Xerxes come back, glancing down at him he bolted forwards toward the woods. She couldn’t help herself as she glided above him, watching him. ‘Kind of cute…’ She stopped herself in mid thought and shook her head a little. Then with a grin on her face she flapped her wings and put on a burst of speed. Catching up with him she past over head just a little. She wasn’t so much racing him as leading. After all he was unaware of where the stream was as she was supposed to be his guide.
She knew this part of the woods like the back of her paw, dodging trees and branches as the woods got thicker with little to no effort. Looking down at him she smiled. “ So what’s your name anyway?”

Xerxes could feel his matted and sticky fur as he ran, like an annoyance begging to be removed. He ran faster so he could get to the stream and be free of the salty water. He looked up and gave the tiniest appreciative smirk. He knew he was fast, for one grounded all his llife, but you could never beat those who rode the winds. Even despite all that, he did his damnedest to keep pace, but he had to be careful where he leapt, over a boulder here, but -not- into the fallen tree behind it.
Xerxes' hair prickled and he groused a bit. She's -flying- and she wants to chat?? Oi... I bet she's not even using her full strength to keep pace with me. He kept his focus, his body lithe and sinuous as it overcame the obstacles he faced, but kept his eye half on her so he wouldn't get lost. He managed to scream out, his voice showing exhaustion and effort to call to her while running at his speed, "Much..... farther...??"

Eternity’s eyes leveled again as she listened to the strain in the stripped males voice. “ It’s not to much further, should be there in a minute or two. ” She thought seriously for a moment about swooping down and trying her paw at carrying him the rest of the way but she wasn’t sure how well he’d take that. She knew some males could get quite offended by getting that kind of help from a female. So instead she slowed just a little and hoped that he could do the same. It really wouldn’t change how long it would take them to get to the water.
She wasn’t far off when she said it was only another minute or two. Her ears twitched as she caught the sounds of the stream on the winds. “ We’re here. ” She went ahead of him a little, moving herself closer to the ground. Landing gracefully on an flat rock that angled upwards to the sky. Turning she looked for Xerxes and waited for him to catch up with her.

Xerxes nearly gave a sigh of relief at her words, but couldn't spare the energy on such a trivial expression of his thoughts. He noticed she was slowly to keep pace and he gave a disgusted grunt. Well, this is lovely, she really wasn't even pushing top speed. He slowed at their arrival to the stream and tried his best to keep his dignity not to just puddle from the effort of running that fast so far.
He grinned up at her, "Thank.... you..." he huffed out and walked into the water, letting the fresh water soothe his muscles wash clean his fur. He sat in the shallows, just enough so he could lay comfortably and be submerged. He drank steadily from the stream before speaking, "You should wash if you got wet in the salt water. I don't know about you, lady, but even I hate the matted feeling of that stuff in my fur." He gave her a wry grin and sat his head on his paws, letting the stream part before him as he held his breath. Eventually he would need to properly submerge in the center, but it would do for now to just sit there a moment longer.

She nodded as he spoke to her, but remained silent as she watched him. There was a light smile on her face but with his head down as it was she knew he wouldn’t see this. It had been a long while since she had interacted with another Tae but he really wasn’t so bad, she was actually mostly friendly.
Shifting herself she moved to the edge of the rock she stood one, looking down at the water he rested in. It was always to cold, the water of the stream and she wondered how he could just lay there in it. With the thick forest that surrounded it, the stream got little light to warm it. So Eternity had always disliked bathing in it if she didn’t have too. However she knew she had to wash off the salt soon so this would do. Jumping off the edge of the rock she glided downwards, landing in the deepest area of the stream, the water coming half way up her chest.
Dunking her head under quickly then raising it up again she shook herself, bathing much like a bird did in a puddle or small pond. Her wings spread out wide, water collecting in the feathers before being shaken out again.

Xerxes couldn't help but give a sly grin as he watched her lithe body take flight and land into the stream. She was so graceful and the water parted before her in gently waves that rippled across the surface like a sea of jewels. He watched enrapt as she bathed, flecks of water on her fur and wings looking like tiny adorned jewels and she seemed to sparkle a strange blue aura from it. He was smiling in a very satisfied and cat-ish way, that made him seem like he was eyeing quite a prize bit of prey.
He let his smile into something more natural as he walked slowly towards her, letting the cool waters wash away the mucky salt from his fur. He decided to sit a pace away from her and bathed himself, being sure to groom each paw and his tail checking that all traces of salt were gone. He ducked his head under water a couple times, while using his paws to shake out all the excess water and repeat, looking very much like a young kit at his first outing into water.
As he finished, he was grooming random bits of his fur, enjoying the sensation of the cool water after his run. "The name's Xerxes by the way. Now that we've bathed together it's only right to exchange the niceties." He gave her his best sly grin, "And does the Songbird have a name or shall I call you my Angel Savior?" He chuckled softly, full of mirth and mischief but fully meaning to keep his word.
