A lot of the translators have put C.C. in the subs. In the dub, they say C2, though.

If you listen to how they say her name in the Japanese version, they call her C2, also. I think that it was meant to be C2. Usually, the English version clears up translating mistakes because it's done by professionals. What do you think?

Official sources cite her name as "C.C." so her name is C.C.

"C Tsui" was what I believe was said in the original version. It's more like a Chinese way of pronouncing it actually. 3nodding

C.C. sounds so much better, and actually sounds like it could pass as initials.
(And like SirBaka said, it is officially written as 'C.C.')

I don't know much about japanese, but I heard that her name was pronounced 'C-tsu' or something like that.
And the last part 'tsu' just meant the first letter is repeated.

Or something...

Well, whatever it is, I will forever call her C.C. 'cause I think it sounds better.

Well, Lelouch said that her name is inhuman. C.C. or C-tsu doesn't sound very inhuman to me, unless he knew how to spell it. By sound alone, C.C. is a fairly normal name.

I totally think it makes sense that it's spelled 'C.C.' but pronounced 'C-Two'.

Hmm... If you mean when they first said her name. Lelouch said it was 'inhuman' because people don't call themselves by their initials (if that even is her initials).

From the way she said it, you wouldn't be able to tell if they were initials. Cici is a fairly common name.

Common where?
Unless you mean as a nickname. Which doesn't exactly count.

Written as C.C, pronounced as Shi-tsu. (But not the dog. Not at all) sweatdrop
I think they're trying to say that there are two "C"'s, hence C2. And since she has a real name, it's kind of like a code name maybe? -o-

yes cici is a name, but C.C. is initial, hence the capitalizations. now it could be either way, but saing it as C.2. meaning 2 C's is more accurate to what it means. so personally i think C.2. is better, but C.C. could work.

I watch a mixture of both the Dub and the Sub. So it really doesn't matter all that much to me. CC sounds like Cici as others have said. It seems too american and honestly too human. And C2 makes sense as well. With that name she without a doubt seems less human. Plus, C2 just sounds cooler. I'm all for C2 but mainly because that's the name I hear the most seeing as I mainly watch the dub.

How the name is said and how it's spelled always confuses me. I keep wanting to say Cici, although I've heard C2 in the dub.
I think the reason they say C2 is because the first letter repeats itself. It may be that they translated C.C. to C², which both are basically the same thing. But instead of saying Cici (I hate that name so much) or C-SQUARED (a really bad stylistic choice), they say C-TWO.

Reminds me a bit more like the ride in Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, Vertical Velicity. Abbreviated V², pronounced V-TWO. Stylistic choices.

While her name abbreviated is technically C.C., Lelouch seems to call her C-2. This is probably just because it's less awkward than saying C.C., instead referring to the fact that her initials are 2 Cs.
Supported by the fact that they call V.V. by V-2.

its true purpose is to create confusion for all those who havent spent a while in the series, so people are like "is it C2, or is it C.C. i dont know! *head explodes* burning_eyes "

just kidding xd
but whenever u put captions on when watching adultswim, they put C.C. instead of C2, so you know that its spelled that way on purpose
