CLOSED FOR NOW This thread is in play to give a list of any races that people can use. It is okay to submit your own race, but it must be sent to a member of the Racial Committee in order to make sure it's not overbalanced. Submissions must be in this format:Name: (The name of the race.) Average Physical Traits: (Include things like their height, muscular build, speed, skin tone, hair and eye color ranges, dexterity, and any other oddities such as wings or tails.) Average Psychological Traits: (Many races have peculiar actions that they do that others don't. Include things like religion, alignment, favorite pastimes, things that they find funny, things that they don't, etc.) Average Lifespan: (How long they live naturally, and at what age they are physically, and then emotionally mature.) Natural Abilities: (Include magical abilities like breathing fire, or regenerating their wounds, as well as natural weapon tendencies, like elves have a natural tendency for the sword or bow.) Society: (Include their diplomatic relations with other species, their government type, and how they interact with others.) Language: (Every playable species has some form of communication, whether it be common, telepathy, or their own native dialect.) History: (Some races have strong histories, and others don't, but you do need to give something.) Subraces: (Many races have either cross-breeds, or different subspecies that might have different abilities or characteristics. List those here. [If the subrace has a profile, I will supply a link to it.]) Names: (Most species have a certain formula for naming their children, and it is listed here.)

Humans Name: Human. Average Physical Traits: Height: 5'0''-6'8''. Weight: 130lbs-200lbs. While not the strongest race, they have decent strength and can move at a respectable speed. Hair colors range from blond to black, with red and white also showing up as natural colors. Eye colors are Blue, Brown, and Green, with rare cases of heterochromia (two different eye colors) being known. Many humans are right-handed, although Lefties are not uncommon. Humans are also similar to a large number of species, allowing cross-breeding to be common. Average Psychological Traits: Humans are one of the most diverse species in existence. They can believe in just about any God, good or evil, although the largest part believes in Pelor, who can be compared to today's Christian religion. As diverse as their Gods, just as many humans are good as evil, causing many other races to distrust them until they know specific people. Humans have a pleasure in learning many pastimes to occupy their time, ranging from slamming into each while fighting over a ball to painting and everything in between. Humans don't generally get the inside jokes, and they rarely give them. Mostly, they make open jokes, not really directed at anyone, just intended to sound funny. A sure way to piss off any human is to walk up to them and smack them in the face. While this doesn't work on all humans, most of them will accept the challenge. Average Lifespan: 50-90 years, with a physical maturity between 17 and 22 years, and a mental maturity in their late 20's. Very few humans have the ability to extend their lifes, "hanging on" for as many as 200 more years, although they are unable to do almost any physical activity by then. Natural Abilities: Well suited to a great deal of weapons and magic, humans are praised for being able to adapt to a great deal of situations. Society: Many different governments are in place, although republics are most common. They have large differences with orcs, though open hostility is still shunned. They have good connections with most other species. Language: Humans most commonly speak Basic, though they can learn almost any language with enough practice. History: Humans were one of the most adaptable races, and by far the most common. They can live in a great deal of places, but they often fight each other in quests for power that prevent them from becoming truly powerful. Subraces: Humans are all very similar in structure, subraces changing mostly the skin tone, physical prowess, and a knack for magic. Here's the list: * Imperials (Caucasian), are the most common, but other races refer to them as Imperials because of the traditional Caucasion government- and empire. They have normal stats. * Latasian are a dark-skinned nomadic people who are well trained in speed, and moving unseen and unheard. Magic is unknown among these people, but their fighting ability makes up for it. * Nordals are a heavily tanned coastal people, advanced in the art of shipbuilding and experts of the crossbow. * Sredians are most commonly found in isolated villages, and have little contact with the world. Rumor has it that Sredian children can use magic by age 5. * Kareals are a lightly tanned people who are famous for producing battle mages. Their skill with magic and strength with the sword help balance out their slow moving heavy armored warriors. * Aasimar are humans descended from a pure good heritage, such as angels. They typically have golden eyes, silver hair, feathers, and are free of human flaws. While descended from good, they are by no means all predisposed to good. * Tieflings are the demonic counter-part of the Aasimar, and exude an evil aura even though their primary evil faded long ago. They typically have horns on their heads, tails, pointed teeth, and red or black eyes. They also typically travel alone since most other species fear seeing more than one in a group. Names: Human names are some of the most diverse, but the most common form is where the last name, or the surname, is handed down from father to child, and the first name can be almost anything, from being named after Gods or colors to wierd pronunciations of common words. Occasionally, you can see a middle name, and those follow the same rules as the first. Of course, there are many more name structures than this one, it just depends on the culture.

Elves Name: Elf Average Physical Traits: Height: 4'6''-5'6''. Weight: 95lbs-135lbs. They are physically weaker than other races, but much quicker. Their features are angular, most noticeably in their pointed ears and almond shaped eyes. Their hair contains the normal blond to black scale, though silvery shades of other colors are not unheard of. Their eye color ranges from a soft white, to a range of colors including blue, green, brown, and yellow. All elves are ambidextrous. Average Pyschological Traits: Elves are always in control of themselves. For an Elf to visibly display anger or sadness there has to be a very good reason for it. Elves are often particular about their appearance, leading others to consider them 'haughty,' and allowing them to have finely mended clothing and well groomed hair. While mentally strong, Elves don't have quite the grasp of mechanics as other species would. Average Lifespan: Elves can often survive up to a half-century, rarely dying of old age. They become physically mature at 25, and mentally mature at around 125. Elves have an ablility to "Hang on" surviving for another three or four centuries for their community, although they are often unable to do physical activity, or even magic that requires physical action. Natural Abilities: Elves are often praised for their natural skill with the sword and bow, and they have a long history of magic. Society: Elves often have a monarchical government, though republics are not rare. Elves also share a dislike of orcs, and, until recently, had a large feud with dwarves. Language: All Elves are taught at least four languages before their 20th birthday, most commonly Elven, Basic, Dwarven, and Orcish. History: One of the oldest races of Evoria, elves have a long history of neutrality, only going to war when they themselves are threatened. The most recent conflict is their fued with the Dwarves. However, the feud was ended peacefully, without bloodshed. Because of this, they are often looked to as negotiators. Subraces: Elven subraces generally follow a similar physical structure, although some major differences have been known. * Moon Elves (Teu-Tel'Quessir) are the most commonly known Elves, known for their fair skin and and hair colors that range from silver to blue to black. Eye colors are similar to humans, ranging from blue to green. * Sun Elves (Ar-Tel'Quessir) are less common than moon Elves, and earned the Gold Elves nickname due to their bronze skin, gold, black or green eyes, and their gold, blonde, black and red hair. They are less physically fit, but more intelectually advanced, excelling in Elven High Magic. * Wild Elves (Sy-Tel'Quessir) pride themselves on their isolation and their ability to remain hidden. Their skin and hair are normally a deep brown color, with their eyes often green, or brown. * Wood Elves (Or-Tel'Quessir) commonly stick to their forests, and are notable for their increased physical strength, though they are considered intellectually inferior to other elves. They commonly have a make-up similar to Wild Elves, with their brown skin and hair, and they have the normal eye colors. * Drow were previously known as Dark Elves, but when their goddess Lolth broke away from the Elven pantheon, they were banished underground. They are smaller and thinner than most elves, but make up for it with their skill in moving unseen. They have obsidian colored skin, white hair, and eyes that almost always burn red with hatred for other elves. * Avariel (Aril-Tel'Quessir) are a rare race of Elves in Evoria, having been hunted almost to extinction by dragons. They feel at ease out in open planes, and detest being in fortresses, or underground where they can't see the sky. They are most notable for their feathered wings, ranging from silver to black. Their hair is usually the same color as their wings, and they have eyes that range from yellow to white, that contrasts with their pale skin. They are commonly mistaken for Angels, Valkyries, and other celestial species. Names: Spanning a time longer than any other species, Elves have some of the most complex names out of any species- mortal, or immortal. Elven names are taken from a Sylvan meaning, and can consist of four parts: A prefix and suffix for the first name, and a prefix and suffix for the house name. (A prefix would describe what they are; [eg. Free- and Time- are examples for a first name, and Champions of-, or Heirs describe a last name, to- to name a few,] and a suffix describes what they do: [eg. -Keeper, -Hunter, for the end of a first name, and -The Winds, and Success for the end of a last name.] They would combine together to form the name. So say we had an elf who really valued rare stones such as diamond. We could call him Diamond-Keeper, or in elven language, Nyon. Now suppose he is from the Defenders from the Blade family, this makes his last name Maernlylth, so Nyon Maernlylth. See >This Link< for a list of meanings and their placements.) {Still confused? Dwarves Name: Dwarf Average Physical Traits: Height: 4'0''-5'2''. Weight: 100lbs-200lbs. It is a common misconception by non-dwarves that dwarven women always grow beards. However, women dwarves are not likely to have beards, although it is not unheard of. Dwarves are short and stocky, with a strong strength and intelligence that helps them in battle. While they wield enchanted weapons without reservations, the large majority of dwarves forsake magic and trust in their weapons- mostly axes, hammers, maces and the occasional flail- and contraptions- trebuches, battle armor, repeating heavy crossbows, and siege tanks- to see them through battle. Average Psychological Traits: Dwarves are normally calm and composed, and suspicious of strangers, though a good joke cracks them up. Gems, jewelry, gold, and pieces of art are valued by dwarves, causing many to succumb to greed. Dwarves rarely go berserk, but they are rarely reserved either, bantering, negotiating or fighting with carefully calculated courage. They have a strong sense of justice, which can grow to a thirst for vengence if untreated. Average Lifespan: Up to 400 years, (though by around 300-350 they retreat from society and live with their own kind,) with a physical maturity coming at around 35-40, and a mental maturity at 40-45. Dwarves have an ability to "hang on" for the good of their community for another century or so, although they are often unable to do physical activity. Natural Abilities: Very hard to knock over when they have good footing, dwarves are very fast despite their size, and move the same speed no matter how much they're carrying. They have a strong understanding of mechanical things, construction, and science, and can usually spot hidden doors or traps or things where they shouldn't be. Very weak in magic. Society: Dwarves most often live in a feudal system, belonging to their Citadel's ruler. However, every citadel is like its own dwarven country, and though they have no official form of government, a complex system of favors and counter-favors unite them in much the same way as elves are. They have poor relations with Orcs, considering them 'rude, snobbish pigs,' and feud with other species such as Knolls, Gnomes, Giants, and most of the 'beastial' specis. Until recently, they had a large feud with the Elves; although that ended they still hold reservations against Elves. Dwarves mostly take decades to form friendships with other people, but those friendships are regarded as sacred. If Elves, Gnolls, or even Orcs can prove their valor and friendship to a Dwarf, they will find the same returned to them in their new Dwarven friend. Language: Dwarves learn a great many languages over their lifetimes, though by the time they become adults, they usually only know five: Dwarve, Basic, Elven, Orcish, and... (TBA) History: Believing they were fashioned from the stone they so love, Dwarves generally stick to their mountain fortresses and Citadels, rarely communicating with other species without a purpose. Among the Elves of Tiraendale, it is a common saying that "Dwarves wanted. Dwarves saw. Dwarves came and begged and pleaded with us to get what they want." Whenever dwarves are involved in a war, it's usually just one or two citadels, or mountain keeps involved. The entire dwarven nation hasn't gone to war since the Orc invasion, BHc~1300. Subraces: Dwarven subraces share many similarities, such as their sense of justice, and general dislike of magic. * Hill Dwarves are the most common dwarven race, and have mostly default traits. * Mountain Dwarves are a more secluded version of dwarves that have fairer skin, but are otherwise the same as Hill Dwarves. * Deep Dwarves live far underground and have developed an ability to see in the darkness, an increased sensitivity to light, and a stronger resistance to magic and poison. Deep dwarves are extremely pale in color. * Duergar (Grey Dwarves) are almost entirley evil, and can psionically enhance their size or turn invisible. They are even more pale than Deep Dwarves, and always bald. They have a perfect darkvision, but find it hard to see in daylight. * Glacier Dwarves reside in glaciers and are especially skilled in crafting weapons and armor out of ice. They are renowned for their resistance to the cold, and, oddly enough, are unaffected by fire as well. * Badland Dwarves have adapted to life in hostile wastelands, and are relied on for their ability to sense water. They can survive in extreme heat, and a lack of water. Names: Dwarven names are bestowed upon them by the clan leader, and they do not own their names as is customary among others. If a dwarf brings shame to his name, the clan strips him of it, and his is unable to use another dwarven name in its place. A name comes in three parts, a given name, a descriptive name and a father's name. The descriptive name is usually earned by adulthood, and commemorates a special event. (There are a few examples >here<. {Still confused? You can find a generator >over here<.})

Orcs Name: Orc Average Physical Traits: Height: 5'11 to 7'2. Weight: 180lbs-280lbs. Orcs are easily noticable due to their green to grey skin, their lupine ears, the protruding tusks and their muscular build. Orcs typically stand in a bent-over shape making them appear ape-like. Orcs have no hair, and their beady eyes range from a black to a brown tone. Marginally fast on marching, orcs are viewed as heavy armor wearers mostly, and are typically slower. Orcs are commonly left-handed. Average Psychological Traits: Most Orcs are hungry for their own power, and will not let one bit more slip away than they have to. However, the average Orc is content to let the stronger Orc rule, and are often fiercely loyal to them, despite what most other races believe. Orcs don't have a set religion, they just believe that their God placed them at the top of the food chain, and any riches others have have been stolen from them. While they rarely get along with other species due to their primitave behavior, Orcs are largely aligned with good, though they do not shun any of their number who aren't. Orcs often participate in physical tests- such as wrestling, boxing, or weight lifting, and enjoy simple jokes, frowning on the complex ones as they're never sure if the joke is aimed at them. Average Lifespan: Orcs are never viewed as emotionally mature by other species, but they are at around age 40. Orcs become physically mature at around age 15, and if their life isn't cut short by fighting, they can often grow up to age 80 before retire from fighting and become Elder Orcs, where they can live in peace for more than 40 years, or continue fighting with magic, often dying in both cases at around age 125. Natural Abilities: Orcs are very strong, and once they reach their 40th year, they often start studying elemental magic. They are largely proficient with heavy weapons much like dwarves are, but it is not uncommon to see the warrior Orc casting spells or healing his wounds. Society: Orcs band together in tribes, usually about 200 -300 strong, united by a mighty leader. They often hunt or raid villages for what they consider 'their stolen belongings.' Rarely do Orcs get together in groups larger than 300 unless they have an extremely strong commander. Constantly feuding with Elves and Dwarves over territory, the pillaging nature of the Orcs doesn't help them make alliances with anyone else, causing an emnity between them and many other races. Orcs live in a patriarchal society, taking pride in their women and children, and rarely- if ever- allowing them to venture out of the main camp. Unlike most patriarchal societies, female Orcs are viewed as a strong part of the community, and can participate in descisions as important as whether or not to follow a strong general into war. Language: Orcs mostly speak common, and a harsh varient of common is referred to as Orcish. History: Commonly believing that the only way to survive is to increase their territrial land, Orcs moved unchecked into Elven and Dwarven lands, sparking off a massive war between the three species. United by a strong half-Orc/half-giant, the Orcs were able to survive the Dwarven-Elven alliance, and managed to hold onto most of their lands before a treaty was made that limited the Orcish lands. Ever since, Orcs have had a strong dislike of Elves and Dwarves, regarding them as thieves. Subraces: Orcs are all similar, changing only in skin color. Half-Orcs are mostly rejected by other species, and live with Orcs, sometimes superior, sometimes inferior because of their bloodline. It is not uncommon to see a half-Orc with hair. Names: Orcish names are harsh and gutteral, sometimes hard for other species to pronounce. Some Orcs include the clan name in their name, others include their fathers name, and still others only go by their first name. (Want a list of common first names? Click >here<. Khajiit Name: Khajiit Average Physical Traits: Height: 5'0''-6'6''. Weight: 80lbs-180lbs. Khajiit are a largely feline race, boasting a luxurious fur that they typically care for in a way similar to Elves. This fur can range in color from orange to a dusky red, although black, white, and tan are not uncommon. Eye color is largely yellow, although shades of brown and orange are not uncommon. Khajiit are very quick, and their strength is not undervalued either. Many Khajiit are viewed as 'simple' people, and while they don't shun it, most Khajiit simply undervalue magic as useless, and those who do use it are not afforded any special position because of that magic. Average Psychological Traits: Khajiit live life in a simple 'live and let live' way, and hold no concept of private property. Khajiit are fiercely individual, refusing to let others make their decisions for them. Many Khajiit keep a local plant- Nightshade- in their armor or clothing, attributing to it an increased ability to skulk, hide, and turn invisible. Average Lifespan: Khajiit can live up to around 80 years, becoming physically mature at around age 18, and emotionally mature only a few years later. Natural Abilities: Khajiit are excellent jumpers, and they can run really fast. Khajiit have tightly bound muscles, resulting in quick strong bursts of energy, although not much can be said of their endurance. Khajiit can see in the dark, and can often hide very well in any wildlife. Society: Khajiit have no real government, just a strong democracy, where everyone in a village gathers to discuss whatever matters come up. They are often viewed as lesser beings by most other societies, and they have no feuds with any major races to date. Language: Khajiit speak a language that has been named by other species as Ta'agra, although many know basic as well. History: Khajiit keep no written records, and any stories handed down could be true, or just made up. Khajiit live in the present, thinking of the future rarely, and almost never of the past beyond their own lives. Subraces: Khajiit subraces are usually composed of a 'normal' people, and a larger and stronger varient signified by a "-Raht" at the end. * Ohmes are very similar to Elves, never having long manes. They typically dye their hair so that it has a more feline appearance. They are the diplomats and traders of the Khajiit. The Ohmes-Raht are stronger, and walk upon their heels rather than the balls of their feet, and may be mistaken for humans from a distance. They are the most commonly encountered type of Khajiit. * Suthay are very similar to humans, and are the larges form of Khajiit. Suthay-Raht are stronger, and are often referred to as Ja'Khajiit. * Cathay are similar to the Suthay-Raht, except they are even stronger and more physically able. The Cathay-Raht are the strongest, and are referred to as 'Jaguar Men.' * The Tojay reside deep in forests, and have had no contact with the outside world. Logic implies that there is a Tojay-Raht, but no one knows for sure. * There are many more Quadrapedal sub-species that exist, but there are too many varients to name. Many are sentient, and many more are bestial, hinting at a strong relation between Khajiit and the normal feline species. Names: Khajiit names do have meaning, but most are chosen for the sound. Such beginnings as Jo, Dar, and Do mean wizard, theif, and warrior, although those with those in their name rarely fit the title. The beginnings are added on to their birthnames, and almost always only one. Using two titles is considered an act of either great pride, or great ignorance.
