Do you enjoy living in a fantasy world? Or is it the future for you? Whatever it is roleplay it out here! But keep in mind there are a few things you must put in your roleplay to make it good.1] Is it literate, semi-Literate, or just one where you don't care?
2] How should I title the roleplay/what should it be rated? [Pg-13, Vamp, and etc.]
3] How should they roleplay? In the first or third person?
4] How should they set up their charcter?
5] What kind of roleplay is it? Fantasy, modern, action?
Well to answer these questions I have made this thread so you will be allowed to get a better idea on what makes a good roleplay.

What is the difference between Literate and non-literate?!
Literate
Literate is where you will spend about ten minutes, if not longer, typing up a post that is usually about three or more paragraphs long. It is also where you spell out every word and use proper grammar, this is where most of your grammar nazi's are found.
Example:
A loud engine could be heard, as a blood red Honda Civic CR-X pulled up infront of the school. The song that was being blasted was 'Crazy b***h' by Buckcherry. As the Car shut off, so did the radio. The drivers side door opened with a creeking noise as a long leg put it's foot down onto the ground.
As the being stepped fully out of the car, there stood a farely short woman, with long purple tinted hair and golden yellow eyes, the only thing unusual about her was the two black cat ears that stuck from her head. Her pale skin shined healthly in the early sun light. As one would continue to look down her body they would notice large heart shaped earings, along with very erotic necklaces. Continuing down even further, one would notice something that appeared to be nothing more then extremely thin fabric covering her chest, which right above, located on the left brest, was a heart tattoo that had wings on it. As eyes continued to scan down they would notice a small pink belly ring in. Just as one's eyes hit the waist line they would notice a gold belt and soft pink fabric, that extended down into a mini skirt. Just behind this mini skirt was a long thin black cat tail, that was wrapped around her left leg. Her shoes were small heeled close toed pink ones.
As she brushed her skirt off she turned into the car and pulled out a black and crimson messanger bag and threw it over her shoulder. Just as she finshed she shut her car door and turned on the car alarm as she began to walk towards the school. Her eyes narrowed as her shoes made a soft tapping noise against the cement path.
Non-Literate
Non-Literate is usually refured to as chat speak or 1337. But in the eyes of many gaian's it's also posts that are short to the point and don't go into full detail like the literates do.
Chat/1337 speak roleplay sample:
*walk in and sits down* how r u?
Non-Literate Sample:
A young girl walks into the room and looks around. She then sits down on a chair. "Hey, how are you?" She asked someone next to her.
Semi-Literate.
Semi-Literate means that you are only half literate. By this we mean that you get into detail with some things, while others you won't get as detailed.
Example:
-Kenji wondered to the front of the School as he steped into the building. Kenji slowly looked around the area as he found his way to the office. Kenji slowly walked in, and saw the dean. Kenji filt out his applicent and reseved his dorm key. Kenji bowed and headed toward his dorm. His long gunner jacket flutered in his steps. Kenji's eyes shifted around the school seeing the other students. Kenji's steel toed butts clanged in his wake as he sighed softly. Kenji Smiled under his coallar. Reaching his dorm Kenji unlocked the door and steped in. Setting his equipment down Kenji fell back onto his bed and slowly dozed off into a slumber.-
Simi lit can also mean * Walks to the fridge* Only diffrence between it and non are the punctuation and no chat speak.
[Thank you Jace, Lunie is having an off day today.]
How can I tell what it should be rated? If it is rated PG.
If you have a PG thread it should be child friendly. In other words there should be no cussing, no adult humor, and nother perverted. If you make a thread like this a few examples of good rules include the fallowing:
~No swearing
~No romance other than hugging.
~Nothing perverted.
~Humorous - but at a child's level.
~No killing or fighting.
If it is rated PG-13.
If the thread is rated PG-13 it should have some more freedom to it. Meaning that it should have more violance or romance to it than most threads. Examples of this should be:
~Romance is allowed, but nothing to extrme.
~Fighting is allowed, but no killing.
~Perverted to a point, nothing over the line though. [In other words there has to be something other than sex to it.]
~ Cussing is fine, just not to often.
If it is rated Mature or 18+
If the thread is rated Mature it means there will be more adult related content in it, such as a little more romance or violance allowed, still no cybering because that is against the ToS. But more of the lines of sexual teasing. Examples of rules include:
~Killing is allowed, but other with both party members conncent.
~Pervertedness is allowed, don't care what kind.
~Sexual content is allowed, just no sex itself.
~Cussin is fine.
A Key to the titles!
There are many different kinds of roleplays, so in order to make it a little easier on our guild members we would like it if you were so kind as to tell us what kind it is in your title.
Vamp - Vampire
Dem - Demon.
Act - Action
Rom - Romance.
Were - Werewolf.
Sch - School
Sci - Fantasy/Sci-Fi
Mod - Modern
Fut -Future.
Ang - Angel
War - War. [Of course]
Com - Commerce [Bars.]
What is the difference between first and third person?Third Person.
Third person is the prefered one for most roleplays, this is where you play it as if you were watching them, rather than being them.
Example.
Luna walked into a room with her eyes shinny healthly. Her outfit was a bit..revealing compaired to most that were in the room...[Or course this would go on but I'm just showing you an example]
First Person
First person is where you type it as if you were the character. This is one used for bar roleplays than anything else.
Example
I walk in the bar and look around with my hair in my eyes. I was wearing a .... [again you would continue.]
Character Set Up.Want to see if a member is 'good' enough to your standers to see if you want them in your roleplay or not? Or do you just want to know a little bit about their character before they join? Which ever it maybe there are many kind of profiles you can use. This are really nice if you have up to, let's say, 20 people in a single roleplay. The ones I usually use include things such as:
Username~
Name~
Age~
Classes~
Dorm~
Sex~
Bio~
Race~
Personality~
Sexual preface~ (Opt.)
Pets~ (no more then 2)
Weapons~ (no more then 3)
Appearance~ (pics are ok, but no bigger then 500x500 so put them in a link.)
Sample of Rping~ [[I will not post this.]]
Other's maybe more simple than this one, such as:
Gaia name:
Name:
Race:
Class sad ex: fighter, preist, mage, etc.)
Powers:
Weapons:
Bio: (optional)
Appearence:
A little help for roleplayers needing a picture.
Having problems finding a picture of the 'perfect' roleplay character for you? Well if nothing else post a piccy you simular to your character and say things such as "Without out fairy wings" Or "With cat ears and tail."
Or if it's a matter of just being to lazy to look than please go to the link at the bottom of the page. I have over 300 female roleplay characters and probably about 50 male roleplay characters. I even have animals. But keep in mind you may only use these characters for yourself, do not give this link out to any other people in gaia. This is for the guild members only!!!

What kind of Roleplay do I fall under? Samples of Storylines. <3Vampire Roleplays
Vampire roleplays can take place in any time era; modern, mid-evil, future, what ever era your Vampire Roleplay may take place in, there's always one thing in common: violance. Vampire roleplays are required to be PG-13 or higher, never lower because they are not child friendly. Keep in mind, there is a lot of powerplaying that goes on in these threads, so you might wanna keep an eye out for them
Example of a Storyline.
Once apon a time...
There was a king, named Vincent. Vincent was no ordinary king. He was cruel and cold and ... a vampire. One day, Vincent met another vampire by the name of Elizabeth. He was immediatly hypnotized by her beauty and eventually made her pregnant. Being cruel and cold, he did not love Elizabeth and was angered when she told him of the pregnancy. Vincent killed Elizabeth after she gave birth to their daughter, Alice. He took the baby to one of the servants of his mansion and told her to raise Alice and to protect her at all costs. Even though Vincent was cruel and cold, he could not kill his own daughter. He left the land and was killed by a group of vampire slayers. Now, Alice is grown and has inherited her father's mansion. Being kindhearted and caring, she has opened the mansion to all who seek refuge.
Demon Roleplays
Demon roleplays can take place in any time era; modern, mid-evil, future, what ever era your Demon Roleplay may take place in, there's always one thing in common: violance. Demon roleplays are required to be PG-13 or higher, never lower because they are not child friendly. Keep in mind, there is a lot of powerplaying that goes on in these threads, so you might wanna keep an eye out for them
Example of a Storyline
A low rummbling eminated all over the world it could be felt everywhere by everyone. No one knew what was happening and often found out to late what was really going on. Those who found out took arms and fought against the strange creatures that were spewed from the skies and from the earth. The creatures that came from the crusts and the skies brought pain, death and depression, and burned the land black. The land was painted red with the blood of the people who were killed by the creatures. They ruled the earth and ruled the skies. The only shelter for the people was the very earth the creatures were spewed from. They would never go back there. Never back to the place they thought was hell.
Now...
The people of the earth created homes for themselves beneath the ground in caverns deep. It was safest there. They build homes and saved the live stock two years ago and created a place for them beneath the ground. They even made homes and false skies to make it seem like what once was. It was the only technology they had left. The light from the false skies made plants grow and allowed for life to be sustained.
Action Roleplays.
Action roleplays are roleplays that try to specialize in action. Meaning that when you join you should expect to be in many fights and have something important constantly happening. These kind are usually filled with drama as well, mainly because most fights start because of drama.
Example of a Storyline.
[It's a poor one but best I can find at the moment and I am to lazy to type one up.]
All over the world, young fighters strive to achieve the title of the world's greatest duelist. Many fall by the wayside in pursuit of their dream, and very few ever acquire it.
But what happens when the survivors age? What happens when the veterans of war become too old to carry on the violent ways of their past? How do they satiate their hunger for battle? By opening up an Arena.
Riddle Juliano, a warrior on the battlefield for six decades, is one of these venerable gentlemen. And while he can still swing swords with the best of them, he just can't keep up with all the young punks these days. So, what better way then to just amuse himself by watching them fight? Using the gold he had saved up all his life, Riddle built the Battle Arena to keep himself entertained in his later years.
exclaim I got the permission to use the samples from the thread owners or I typed them up myself.
arrow I also have a feeling you know what I am getting at with these and I don't need to continue on at the moment.
