I noticed the characters' names are similar.
Michael Scott=David Brent
Dwight Schrute=Gareth Keenan
Jim Halpert=Tim Canterbury
Pam Beesly=Dawn Tinsley
Roy=Lee
Ryan Howard=Ricky Howard
Jan Levinson-Gould=Jennifer Taylor-Clarke
Kevin Malone=Keith Bishop
Kelly=Donna
Karen=Rachel
Todd Packer=Chris Finch
Josh Porter=Neil Godwin
There are some differences with the characters.
Michael Scott and David Brent: David seems to more aware of his social awkwardness than Michael. Michael is nicer than David.
Dwight Schrute and Gareth Keenan: Dwight is obsessed with Battlestar Galactica. Gareth has an obsession with the military.
Jim Halpert and Tim Canterbury: They're probably the most alike. Jim dresses more casually than Tim.
Pam Beesly and Dawn Tinsley: Pam wants to be a graphic designer while Dawn wants to be an illustrator.
Roy and Lee: Roy seems somewhat nicer than Lee.
Jan Levinson-Gould and Jennifer Taylor-Clarke: Jennifer is more sane than Jan. Jennifer and David didn't have a relationship.
Kevin Malone and Keith Bishop: Keith speaks a lot less than Kevin and says more perverted things than Kevin as well.
Todd Packer and Chris Finch: Chris Finch is a bully while Todd Packer is just obnoxious.

One thing i noticed is in the US version Pam and Jim prank Dwight sort of innocently but in the UK version Tim and Dawn made more sexual jokes toward Gareth.
Also, i absolutley HATED Lee! But i just mildly dislike Roy.

I like the office uk, it's funny also. The one blonde girl in the office uk is also in shawn of the dead. That is a great funny movie. biggrin

I saw the first few episodes of the office uk, did not like them nearly as much as I love The Office. I noticed the differences and gave the show a shot anyways, but I still feel the US version is superior. ^_^
