So out of all Garth Nix's work, which is your favourite? And why? ^_^
I just thought I'd start a simple discussion to start things off! smile

[~Lily~] So out of all Garth Nix's work, which is your favourite? And why? ^_^ I just thought I'd start a simple discussion to start things off! smile Abhorsen! Yes! xd Followed by Sabriel, coming around the inside, but what's this? Shade's Children is coming up the outside fast, followed by Lireal! But watch out, Ragwitch is picking up speed, with the Seventh Tower series dragging behind! And the Keys to the Kingdom have been disqualified, on count of I haven't read them! Abhorsen was just so cool, and the ending-WOW. I LOVED the imagery in that book, especially when Hedge crossed the wall. Oh man, now I have to go read it again. SEE WHAT YOU'VE DONE? NOW I'LL NEVER FINISH READING "MONSTROUS REGIMENT" BY TERRY PRATCHETT! gonk

I think Abhorsen is my favourite, with Lirael second, Sabriel third and Ragwitch fourth. Those are the only one's I've read. Abhorsen was just great with the ending that I can't mention without typing it in white. Just higlight below.
I loved it when Mogget turned into Yrael and started singing to bind Oranis. Loved the whole Abhorsen book. *cries* Come back Doggy!

Probably Shade's Children just because it was one of the first that I read.

Well, I've only read the Old Kingdom series so far sweatdrop , but my bro gave me the 7th Tower series, so I'll read those eventualy. From the Abhorsen Trilogy, my fave is Lirael. It rocks xd and I love the whole spats between Mogget and The Disresputable Dog. Aha! You know, I didn't like Absorsen so much! I mean it was Ok, but the ending was...off. Very open. But, then again, I don't like open endings. But I did like the whole binding process of the Destroyer.
BTW: [~Lily~], the Da Vinci Code is VERY good. It's a good suspense novel. Have you read Angels and Demons? Man, I didn't like that one....

I agree about the ending of Abhorsen. I was expecting something more....wow! to happen XD

Lirael is my favourite book. I like it the best because I didn't really... connect... with Sabriel. xd Bwaha, I'd talk more about it but I don't want to reveal anything to anyone who hasn't read it yet.

Come on, Orranis was resealed, Hedge was defeated- crying - Lireal nearly dies, Mogget was freed (Yes!), and they performed a ritual not seen since the dawn of time. What more "wow" do you want?

Yes but I mean the way it ended. Normally when I finish a book/series it seems final to me sweatdrop Abhorsen just left too much open, like there was going to be another book afterwards (which there is, kinda XD) I'm actually disappointed with the endings of most books I read...

That white font thing was a rather good idea... :proceeds to use it: I found it sad how Lirael never recieved the Sight. But then, when she got the title as Remembrancer, I couldn't identify how I felt... I mean, she ended up getting something in a sort of compensation for what she didn't recieve in the realm of the Clayr, but the fact that she was the only one of that title for a very long time sort of... amplified... her solitude and made me feel a bit more pity on her behalf... sweatdrop Man, I haven't read the Abhorsen since forever ago! xd But I thought the ending was really sad. Quite the tear- jerker. xd
