Put simply - do they exist? Is there that one right person in all the world, the person who you will fall for instantly and forever...are they out there? Have they always been? Are you destined to meet?

What does everyone think - and have you met them already?

I'm not sure that meeting with people who connect with you on a soul-like level is neccisarily predermined. Now, with my beliefs, I do think that many things happen for a reason and I won't deny that I think several of the people that have entered my life were meant to be there and make a change for me. But everything can't be predetermined, then that would take out the picture of free will, yes?

I believe in the 'meant to be' soulmate, but I also think it is possible for two souls to bind themselves together in an inseperable way. When you choose to love some one, and they choose to love you back- when you learn to love them from the soul out, isn't that integrated soul bond just as powerful as the predetermined one?

I won't say that a soulmate doesn't exist because, truthfully speaking, there are some people that just seem meant for each other. However, I don't think the meeting has to be that instant connection. I mean, it can be like Ro said:

That feeling can most definitely be as strong as a 'predetermined' one, in my opinion. I'm a firm believer in the fact that there are people that you're just meant to be with, be they friends, siblings, lovers, etc. They're there to help you through something at one time or another or to stick with you forever. (Heh, Ro's not going to be easily ridding herself of this sister, anyway.)

The person that someone's going to fall for...I think they're always out there, it connection just hasn't been realized or the two people haven't exactly met yet. They may never meet or they may choose to ignore the way they feel. In my opinion, it's got a lot of things in the way of things being perfect...at least for most people anyway. (I've seen instant connections...heck, my family of friends is built off of it after all.)

I don't know if I believe in soulbound loves... unless one considers the possibility of trans-life loves. Falling in love with someone in a previous life, and one's love carries on through death and into rebirth; believing in a persistent soul really encourages this concept, actually - if you think about it.

But personally, I believe there is that "right" person out there for each and every one of us. Whether one falls for them instantly or not is another matter - perhaps you meet them and since they match up perfectly, it all just sorta... links, like two magnets. I dunno about them being "soulbound", as it were, but I do believe that there is a match for anyone.

As to having met them already, well... no, not personally. Though I have met another kind of soulmate - anam cara, or soul friend. Someone you can connect with on nearly every level as a friend, a confidant, someone you would trust with not only your life, but your very soul.

Well your opinion kinda depends on whether you believe in fate, or the butterfly effect, in which every little decision will drastically impact your life.

I personally do believe in "soul mates" but i don't believe that there is only one for each person i believe that there are several people for one person which is why there are people who don't marry and why there are people who get divorced. it's because their perfect someone is already taken. However this does kinda contradict the whole "one love" idea.

I thought of that also. Until I remembered "till death do us part".
It's a common phrase used durring weddings witch I think ruins the whole aspect of the moment lol.. xD

BUT since we are human beings, we think love, and emotions are whats important to us since its not our faults that we feel that way because, well we are human.

But when we die, it probably wont matter anymore. So basically, in this ara, this time, of the humans, it does exist, until we die, we to loose the person unless as it says we see them in heaven and they become a love one, but not as a butterfly tummy feeling love,

is what i think.
But who knows. someone should look that up in the bible.

...I think I forgot about this entierly. sweatdrop

I don't believe in fate. I don't believe that you'll wind up with the same person will be yours life after life after life.

But I do believe that there is someone out there for everyone. If you find them or not...is up to you, them, and luck.

I have certain thoughts on this subject.

Love is hard to define, and soul mates are part of that. Love, in the most concise definition I have made, is the mind set that you acquire when you realize there is someone you would do anything for, including let them go or take a bullet for them. Its one of the most powerful feelings in the human world. I have felt that for someone, and the problem is I'm sure they don't feel it for me.

Soul mates are, as far as I can see, people who are 2 halves to a whole. You are better around them, and it goes beyond my meaning of love. Its the "ties that bind", of sorts.

People who don't find their soul mate, or who deny such things, are lost souls, essentially.

I do know, in my heart, that everything that is meant to happen, will...

"People in your life are there for a reason, a season, or a lifetime." :3

I don't really agree with that one. Not totally at least. Sure, someone might not quite feel whole with finding that one person, but I don't quite think lost would a good term here. It'd be more like....lonely in my mind...Maybe that's just me though.

I will later though. Feeling quite scattered at the moment.

Oh, and I told you that I have the power of cliches and I will use them. :3

Ahhhh this is such a hard topic. I beleive that people come togther to help out the world in it's divine purpose and that God meant it to be that way. We make friends who impact our lives. We have crushes that we take seriously and then we meet people and don't love them untill further down the road. So to me everything has a purpose in Gods' own will. Haveing a love at first sight kind of thing can occur if it is meant to be.
