 As the morning sun gave light to a new day, and peeked over the tops of the snow capped mountains, the forest and meadows buzzed to life. A bright beam of light shown through the canopy of the tree that Draco had been sleeping under, causing him to stir. He squinted his eyes and rolled over, trying to get a few more moments sleep before he had to face the day.
Above him, on a branch, sat his friend Norbert. Norbert wanted him to wake up now. He had a fun day planned and wanted it to start as soon as possible. He noticed some snow on a branch not far above where Draco lay. He flew over to the branch and landed on it, making the snow fall off and right on Draco's head.
Draco woke with a start, jumping up and yowling with fright and cold. He looked around to see what had happened, and heard a clicking sound similar to laughter from above him. He looked up only to have more snow fall in his face.
Norbert was shaking so hard from laughing that he fell out of the tree, but opened his wings in time to glide safely to the ground a few feet from Draco.
"Sorry mate, but I had to do it. I wanted you to wake up." Draco heard in his head. Norbert stood there with a huge grin on his face, and his body still shaking with suppressed laughter.
Draco shook himself free of the snow and shivered. "I'll get you back for that," he said as he gave chase to his little winged friend, laughing as he did. "I was in the middle of a really awesome dream!"
Norbert started to run as his friend gave chase. Laughing again, he opened his wings and took flight. "You can only get me if you can catch me!" he said in Draco's mind.

 It was early, the sun jump coming up over the mountains to the south. The sun glistened on the crystallized surface of the snow. The crusted surface crunched beneath the paws as a young female Tae. Her hair was a light gold and reflected the sun just as the snow did. Her tail swished over the snow behind her and the trim of her skirt dragged over the hard top layer.
She’d gotten up just for the sunset, her blue gray eyes had waked the skies in wonder. She loved the way the sky looked at sunrise and sunset. The colors where so mystical to her. The way they shifted and molded together. The way the clouds seemed to change the colors, making them lighter. More pastel. But now that she had watched the sun awaken for the day it was time to get herself some breakfast. She kept her eyes open for something good, her ears perked over her head.
It wasn’t long before her good hearing picked up a voice. She stopped and spun around just in time to see another Tae burst out from under a tree near by, chasing after a tan and green Pandryl. She stared at the two, blinking once or twice as they frolicked in the snow. The other Tae was male she believed, and wore the same cloths as herself. She hadn’t seen another Tae with cloths such as her own before and she wondered where he had gotten them from.

Norbert had gotten a late start but was soon far ahead of Draco. He effortlessly maneuvered through the branches of trees, causing more snow to fall as Draco ran under them. As Norbert burst through the tree line, he spotted a female Tae dressed alot like Draco. He slowed his speed and said to Draco in his mind, "Oh look, another one like you."
Draco heard Norbert's thought and stopped in his tracks. He looked around quickly to see what he had been talking about. His eyes fell on a female Tae standing a few yards from him. She was staring at him. He immediately felt his face blush, as his ears perked up. He noticed her clothing, seeing that it looked a lot like his own, only her necktie was different colors. Her grey eyes pierced his own, and he quickly looked away, a bit embarrassed.
Norbert watched the two Tae stare at each other. "Go over and say hi," he thought to Draco. "She looks like a nice Tae."
Draco shook his head at the thought. He was kind of shy afterall. He made himself look busy by sniffing the ground and acting as if he were looking for some food. He went over to a nearby bush, that clearly had no leaves or fruit on it, but he pretended to be searching it anyway, all the while keeping her in his peripheral vision.

Luna took a seat in the snow and watched the two. The male had looked at her and seen her, but he said nothing and moved away. Looking at the small dragon like creature she gave his a lofty but friendly smile and a nod. She knew a little of these creatures. It was a familiar, a friend to the male Tae. As far as she knew they couldn’t ‘speak’ per say but there was a bond to the Tae they where a familiar too. Looking closely she noted the small egg he held with his tail and wondered about it for a moment. Most Pandryl normally carried an orb with there tail, but this one was different.
Looking back over to the male she kept the smile on her face as she stood once more and took a step forward. When she was half way to him she sat once more, wrapping her tail around her paws a little. “Hello there.”

Draco noticed the female moving towards him. He suddenly became very nervous. She spoke to him and he froze. He slowly turned towards her and gave a slight smile. "Heh- hello." He barely managed to form the words due to the enormous lump in his throat.
Norbert watched Draco's clumsy attempt at a hello. He had been sitting near Draco on the ground, and waddled over to the female. He stopped a few feet in front of her and looked up at her. A smile spread across his little beak and he wiggled his tail back and forth while flapping his wings. He hoped that his gesture of hello would be understood.
Draco stared after Norbert and watched as he tried saying hello. He suppressed a laugh, but smiled widely at the Pandryl's antics. He took a couple steps forward and sat down, curling his tail around. "He says hello as well," Draco mumbled. He looked back up at the female Tae, who was still smiling at him.

Luna’s grey eyes shifted to look at Norbert and she giggled at him just a little. Her ears twitched as Draco spoke to her, and told her what Norbert was ‘thinking.’ “Well aren’t you cute. Hello to you too.” Lifting a paw she reached out and gently pat the Pandryl’s head before pulling back again.
Turning back to the male again, she still had that friendly smile on her face. “May I ask his name… and maybe yours? Mine’s Luna.” She said her name proudly, she had always liked her first name. Found it pretty. “Luna Lovegood.” She wasn't as fond of her last name but she didn't mind to much really, you cant always pick out everything about yourself.

Norbert smiled at the attention from the new Tae, and nodded his head. He then opened his wings and took flight. "I'll be back later," Draco heard in his mind, as the little Pandryl flew up over the tops of some trees.
Draco's eyes followed Norbert as he flew away, leaving him there alone with Luna. His eyes met hers again, and held. "That's Norbert, and I'm Draco Malfoy," he replied to her in a quiet voice. "He told me he would be back later, but didn't say where he was going."
Draco broke eye contact and shuffled his feet a bit, and dusted a bit of snow off his shoulder to make himself look busy. "I've never seen you before. Are you from this area of the island?"

Watching the little dragon lift off into the air she wondered where he was off to as well and why he was leaving so suddenly. “Well.. Maybe he’s off to look for food. Little guys got to eat too huh?” Shaking her head a little she looks around at the area slightly. “No. No I traveled here from the south. I was hoping to find so little warmer weather. I love the snow, it’s very pretty but I’m not big on the cold.”
Her tail flicked a little before swishing it over the surface of the snow little, the soft fur picking up snow flakes an making them glisten in the sunlight as her tail moved. “I like traveling anyway, I like seeing new and different things along the way.”

"Maybe. He said he had some fun stuff planned for today, but who knows." Draco replied, shuffling his tail a bit, gathering snow in his fur as he did. "So, you are a traveler? That sounds neat. What kind of interesting places have you been?" He shook his tail to get the snow out, and in doing so, managed to fling a bit onto Luna's nose.
Draco froze when he saw what he had done. "I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to do that." He took a step closer to her, with the intention of brushing the snow off her, but decided he probably shouldn't get that personal with her since they had after all just met.

At the feel on cold in her nose Luna’s eyes widened a little. Crossing her eyes slightly she looked at the small clump of snow for a moment. There was silence, the female sitting completely still, before she suddenly burst out in laughter. It was a minute or so before her giggles died down and she reached a paw up and brushed the snow from her nose. “Well there’s a lot of forest out there. There’s a large lake, with an island in the middle. I didn’t go there though, so I don’t know anything about it. There’s snow all over, at least everywhere I’ve been. I haven‘t met many others of our kind. I guess it‘s to cold to be out for most.”
The whole while she spoke she’d been using her tail to collect a small fluffy pile of snow. With a small and mischievous grin she flicked her tail towards him, using her tail to toss the snow his way playfully.

Draco didn't know what to think of her laughter, but took it as she wasn't angry with him at least. He saw the snow flying his way, but was too slow to duck out of the way. The wet ball of fluff hit him directly in the face, and some of it fell onto his shoulders and back. A bit of it went down the collar of his shirt. He let out a little yelp at the cold and shook himself to remove the snow. The bit inside soon melted and left a small wet spot in his fur.
"That wasn't fair," he whined, "I didn't do it on purpose." While he spoke, he moved his tail behind him, hoping she couldn't see that he was gathering more snow for ammunition. "Norbert and I haven't explored very much of the land, nor have we met many others, but maybe someday we will. It has been quite cold lately, but I suppose I'm lucky to have fur and this extra layer of clothing to keep me warm."
As he said the last word he spun, using the extra momentum to fire a snowball at Luna. When he landed from the spin, he darted off to hide behind a tree.

He had giggled lightly as his reaction to the snow ball she through. “It’s called having fun.” She had a wide grin across her face as she sat listening to him speak. She had yet to notice what he was doing with his tail. It wasn’t until he had completely readied the snow and moved to throw it at her that she knew. She let out a squeak and ducked her head down. The ball of snow still hit her, right atop her head. She shivered as some melted a little and managed to make it down the back of her shirt. “So cold.” She giggled a little again before looking up to where Draco had hidden.
She grinned a little as she looked at the tree and the one that stood next to it. As quickly, but silently as she could she snuck over to the tree next to the one Draco hide behind. Taking a moment to make sure he hadn’t seen her before she quickly climbed up the tree, pulling herself onto one of the first branches. Again she looked towards him to see if he had notices what she was doing, but when she didn’t see him she continued her plot. Balancing her way down the branch she climbed from one tree to the other with ease. Finding herself above where she was sure Draco stood. It was harder to see him with the branches below blocking her view so she’d have to chance it.
Using her tail again she collected as much snow as she could before pushing it off the tree and down towards the ground, and the male Tae.

Draco sat behind the tree, listening for her to approach, or to run away. He wasn't sure what kind of reaction she would give. Yet, he still readied himself for any kind of surprise attack. He sat waiting, and thinking. 'I hope I didn't make her angry by throwing that snow ball.'
After a couple of minutes, he peeked out from his hiding spot behind the tree. He didn't see her. It seemed like she had left after all. With a short pain of disappointment, he sat back down behind the tree and leaned against it, only to have a huge pile of snow land right on top of him. He let out a yelp at the surprise and sat there, under the snow, frozen from both the surprise of it, and the sudden cold.
After a few seconds, he pushed his way out from under the snow and looked up to see what had caused the snow to fall. There in the branches, he saw Luna, with a grin on her face.

She watched and waited for him to surface. A moment went by, and then another and another. She was actually getting worried for a few second, but her smile quickly returned as he surfaced again and looked up at her.
The look on his face made her grin widen as she chuckled lightly down at him. “You ok? Didn’t mean to bury you that badly. Just a little, honest.” Lowering herself so she way lying on the branch, one hind leg on either side of the branch and her front paws folded in front on her. Her tail flicked playfully as it hung down below her.
