Story – In the distant future, there is a small ice planet, Omega 9, currently inhabited by two warring races: the Bolos and the Pierrots. Both are advanced species with their own armies, weapons, crafts, and ruling styles. Both want one thing: Total control of the planet. Both will recruit a member of any species willing to help them fight for dominance. Rebels and non-fighters are killed. The humans are unaware of their existence.
You are a passenger on a military vessel, Nebula B-52. The ship is sailing close to Omega 9 and heading for another planet to start a new life.
Rules – 1. LITERATE ROLEPLAY- If you cannot handle spelling out words in proper English, don’t join. L337 is not a universal language. It is an annoyance. (It’s allowed only in OOC.) 2. Follow guild rules and ToS. Standard rule, I know, but how do I know whether you need this pounded into your brain or not? 3. Swearing is allowed, but keep it minimal and not every post, etc. We want to try and keep this friendly, so no characters that curse like sailors. 4. Respect each other! I know this should be a no brainer, but this is like rule 1. I don’t know if you need reminders. This means that you cannot kill another person’s characters without permission, any OOC conflicts should either be dealt with outside of the RP or taken up with me. I’m more than happy to help resolve problems. 5. Try to be active and post at least twice a week. Everyone can relate to the busy days, but no one wants to be left hanging. 6. If you’re going to be gone for a longer period of time or if you are quitting, say so. You can PM me or just post it as an OOC thing in the RP. I don’t care. Just let us know. 7. Any OOC comments have to be indicated by ( ), [ ], etc. 8. Actions in the RP have to be worded. No one wants to see the asterisks (*). It looks bad and can make things very confusing. 9. PM your profiles to me under the title 'Bolo Bog', and put a Mr Green at the end of the profile. 10. Character limit is two (2). Even if one dies, you cannot make another. There will be a time when new characters are allowed.
Profile Skeleton - Keep it bolded Ladies and Gents. If you want to be part of the crew instead of just a civilian, let me know, but DO NOT PUT IT IN YOUR PROFILE. The taken positions are: Captain, Pilot, Head Engineer, Asst. Engineer.

Profiles These will be kept organized by username, as I am allowing multiple characters. Gaia Name: KeatonIshTak05 Appearance: She wears a standard arm band, but her's also gives her the basic stats on all of her crew. Name: Lirin Gyumaoh Position: Captain Age: 28 Gender: Female Personality: Confident, even-tempered, doesn’t tolerate silliness very well, enjoys pushing limits from superiors Bio: Lirin is one of the few female captains of the fleet, and one of even fewer who didn’t have to sleep around to get the position. She is a very calm, collected woman and can keep her head in the worst situations. Her favorite weapon is an Uzi, and she carries it around at her hip despite regulations against it. She also carries a Colt 45 in a shoulder holster and a saber for close combat. She’s well trained to use all three. Occasionally, she will disappear for hours at a time and return a little shaky, but she never says why. Skills: Proficient in fencing and with small arms. Plays the violin. Can pilot any size ship with relative ease. Alliance: Humans
Appearance: Shoulder-length pewter hair, pale red eyes, tan skin. She’s roughly 5’8” and has a slim, powerful build. She wears an altered gray military uniform, as in she tore it up and re-hemmed it to be more flattering. It’s a midriff jacket that has two buttons, and a knee-length skirt with slits up the sides. She wears a skin-tight, faded black body suit under it that can become a two-piece suit when the waist is unbuttoned. The legs of the suit barely reach mid thigh. She wears black high-heeled boots that lace up the front. She carries the standard pistol as her weapon, her arm band, and a tracking collar so Lirin can always find her. Name: Hel Raggs Position: Pilot Age: 23 Gender: Female Personality: Optimistic, mischievous, slightly anti-authority Bio: Hel’s first experience with piloting a ship involved a stolen scouting vessel and her older brother’s assurance of them not getting caught. They were caught though, and the conditions for them not being thrown in prison involved being trained as pilots and working for the military. Hel had found flying to be an amazing experience and agreed to the terms. Her brother landed in prison for spitting in the officer’s face after noisily refusing. She learned quickly and became the top pilot in her class, but Lirin was the only one who would take her. Skills: She can run really fast, on any terrain, in high heels. Alliance: Her captain.
~*~*~ Gaia Name:Anchou Appearance:He is a slim, 5'10 Caucasian with brown hair. His eyes have a small, light blue ring hugging the pupil. Around that is a jagged line of sickly yellow. The rest of his iris is grey blue. There are dark rings underneath his eyes even though he gets plenty of sleep.
He wears the Captain grade engineering uniform. The uniform:It's a jumpsuit made of a special material that allows him to work in harsh airless environments. It also locks in heat, so he doesn't even feel a chill when in freezing cold of space. The suit also features an air filtration system that gives him an unlimited supply of air in a unbreathable environment, as long as there is some oxygen in the air. Space is different, his suit only let's him work in space for a half an hour, before he has to fill up again.
He wears an arm band that works as a holo radio (a holo radio is like a two way camera, the arm band projects a holographic screen in mid-air that shows who ever is on the other line, and vice versa) shows his health status, along with other features. Every crew member on a military class ship is assigned one of these arm bands. He wears magnetic boots (it's issued to all the engineers). He wears a holster with a pistol in it when he's not working someplace where the holster could get caught on something, resulting in severe injury or death. Only security personnel and high ranking crew members are allowed pistols. Name:Jordan Varz Position:Head Engineer Age:25 Gender:Male Personality:He is usually quite and withdrawn, not interacting with his co-workers during his lunch break. Bio:He is the head engineer on board the military class ship, Nebula. He was born on Earth, which has become an increasing rarity, due to the mass planet migrations. He learned how to shoot a sniper rifle very well when he was young. He learned how to fire a pistol as all high ranking officers and security personnel are required to. He likes a good challenge. Skills:He can play the flute well. He's good at video games. He has pistol proficiency. He has sniper proficiency. He's good at deception. He's good at creative writing. He's good at reading. He's great at engineering. He knows how to maneuver in space very well. He can fly a shuttle among other small craft. He might be able to fly a large ship, but he'd do a crappy job of it. He can fix some weapons, most easily a pistol or a sniper. He's good at figuring out puzzles. He's good at making a conversation awkward. He's great at fix shuttles and other small craft. He's good at fixing large ships. Alliance:His crew.
~*~*~ Gaia Name: Arakratos Appearance: He stands at 6' 4", short black hair, and wears a standard engineering suit, which had been modified for extended work in Zero - G and vacuum environments. Has a scar along his right cheek, normally has his helmet on, and if he doesn't, usually has a special set of goggle type objects on. It's a small earpiece, with a screen that extends in front of both his eyes. On it, is anything from read-outs from various systems, to pictures. Name: Makoto Kuroda Position: Engineering Age: 19 Gender: Male Personality: Quiet, reserved, keeps to himself Bio: While he may not seem like it, Makoto is an expert engineer. He spends all his free time dismantling and building... things, from pens, to tools to help in his job, and he even build a rather interesting looking rifle once. He loves to work outside the ship, he feels free in space, that's why he's customized his suit to allow him to work in space for much longer than anyone else in engineering. He also has some skills in using pistols and sub-machine guns. Carries a plasma torch with him all the time, and knows how to use it if something that isn't friendly gets up close to him. It's also handing for making toast. Skills: Can make almost anything, if he has the parts, and sometimes is he doesn't. Also has basic first aid, extensive zero-g experience, and has some knowledge of weapons Alliance: He will follow the captain, and the head engineer.

*BEEP* Incoming Message: Xrstch gsatr Hteurpo She stared at the screen, dumbfounded. "What is this?" She pressed a button on her panel and spoke into her headset. "Captain, we've received a message. It appears to be coming from that chunk of ice we're flying near." She listened for the reply. "I really couldn't tell you. The translation program is going nuts with it. It's not a known language."

Makoto Kuroda was breathing heavily, but slowly. He glanced around, seeing nothing but the metal hull of the ship. He was out in space because someone had heard strange, as they put it, clunking noise.
But Makoto couldn't find anything. He had been out for close on 45 minutes, so he would have to head back in soon. His suit, a collection of metal plates, air tight plastic like material and holsters for tools, protected him from space, among other hazardous things. "Ugh... This is Kuroda. Nothing here. Coming back." He tapped his wrist, turning off his coms, before turning and heading back towards the airlock. As much as I like space, this was a waste of time.

"Alright. The tekkies will take care of you when you're in the lock." Hel groaned after turning off the transmitter. "Guess the antenna isn't breaking off like I thought..." She heard the door to the bridge slide open and grinned. She turned her seat around and gave a little salute, despite the other crew members on deck who'd stood and saluted properly giving her a rather fierce glare. "Welcome back Captain. Good news. The antenna isn't broken."
The tall woman who'd entered smirked down at her pilot. "But you still can't translate the message, right Hel?" The pewter-haired pilot just shrugged. Lirin leaned over Hel's console and looked at the message. It had just been received again. "It kind of looks like the language of the Seven Sisters, but obviously not close enough." She sighed and stood up straight again, brushing a strand of her thick red hair back over her shoulder.

Makoto stepped inside the air lock, nodding to the man standing on the other side of the door into the ship. He nodded back, tapping a few keys as the air came rushing back in.
Makoto felt the rush of air into his suit, as the automatic collectors ejected the bad air and started to fill the tanks with fresh air. He walked forward slowly, disengaging the lock on his helmet and pulling it off. "Not a thing out there... hell, the ship's in better condition than my room."
"Everything is in better condition than your room." One of the engineer's shouted. Makoto ignored him and headed straight for the bridge, sliding his helmet back on. He flicked the sun-shield up, the metal place sliding up and onto the top of his helmet, revealing a screen, with constant technical re-outs of every part of his suit, along with whatever information could be gathered about what he was looking at.
Makoto walked onto the bridge, and saluted to the captain. "Enginner Kuroda reporting."

She waved off the salute. "Good, Kuroda. Hel tells me everything looks good out there. Did you happen to notice anything around the planet? According to all our data, Omega 9 is uninhabited, but a message is said to have originated from it." She planted herself in her spot, black combat boots squared on the floor as she crossed her arms over her chest. Her blue captain's uniform showed the wear and tear normal only for lesser soldiers and crew.

Makoto lowered his hand, relaxing slightly. "No ma'am, didn't see a thing. Everything looked fine to me." He sighed, going through everything he had seen, trying to find anything out of the ordinary. "If there was something wrong, I can't find it."

"Alright. I was just checking. Sometimes we miss things on screen." She turned back toward the front of the ship and directed Hel's gaze to the planet. "We're getting a bit too close for my liking. Alter the course a little so we don't get pulled in. I've heard of a few ships getting caught in the gravity." Hel nodded and started punching a few keys on her console. She had to press the Command key a few times to get it through. "She's not liking me today. I had to page you three times before she let it through, and I almost didn't get out of my quarters. She locked me in. You need to remind her who her operator is, Captain." She frowned up at Lirin, her pale crimson orbs showing mock hurt. "One of my little engineers checked her earlier and said she was just being moody." *BEEP* Incoming Message: Xrstch gsatr Hteurpo She glared at the moniter. "And you are not making things any better..." She tried to ignore Lirin laughing at her.

Makoto crossed his arms, looking out at the planet. Why do I have the feeling something BAD is going to happen. Makoto sighed, then his coms buzzed. "Hey Makoto, need a hand over here, something's playing up with the generator. Might want to tell the captain that the engines are going to be.... temperamental for a while." "Gotcha. Ma'am, just got a report that the engines are going to working a little bit under what they should be, the generator is acting up. I'm on my way to check the connections now." With that he turned and started running. With a problem like this, it needed to be fixed quickly.

Lirin nodded as he ran out. "Hel, power up the spare pilot seat. If the engines are really so stressed, you're not yet experienced enough to keep this thing from crashing in a fiery blaze." She smiled as Hel did what she was told without question. As the seat powered up, she made her way back to her quarters. Inside, she changed out of her standard uniform skirt into a pair of durable pants, over which she put on a body suit. (Think Caroline's suit in Pitch Black when she's trying to land the ship.) After changing, she ran back to the deck and stood behind the spare pilot seat. Hel huffed as Lirin left. "She's right, I know." She was talking to her control panel, leaning her elbows on it and his chin on her hands. "I hope that if we go down, she'll at least let me try..." She brushed strands out of her face as something new flickered across her screen. Incoming Message: Tchisnk njdksa ottffssent Nwse ngorehca "Captain," she turned to the red head as she ran in, "there's a new message. I'm going to hail them, see if they understand us." At Lirin's nod, Hel pressed a button and spoke into her headset. "This is the military refugee vessel Nebula B-52. Our translation program is not reading you. Over." Her words appeared on the screen and a green flashing bar appeared under it. She pressed the Enter Command button and the message was sent.

(( Anchou should be on soonish, or that's what he told me at least ))
Makoto was running down the corridors towards the engine room, getting a lot of angry shouts from people. "Talk to me Max." "Ahh, we're good, as long as nothing trying to kill us appears. Engines are holding, just not at 100%. Everything else seems to be fine. "Gotcha, I'll head right out and check the connections, tell somone else to check the internal connections." With that, Makoto snapped down his sun-shield and made a dash for the nearest air-lock.
Within minutes he was already half way towards the engines, keeping his eyes on the glow. "I can't see anything wrong from a distace, might be one of the lower connections." "We can't even tell if it IS a connection problem, the generator might just be acting up... Oi! Go do a systems check, see if you can find the problem!" Max had started to shout out orders, trying to narrow down what could be wrong. "Anyway, we should be fine for a... I'd say 3 or 4 days, then if it's not gone it'll be a problem." "Don't tell me, tell the captain."

((Never fear, Anchou is here! Oh, you said you went to an airlock. Is the engine outside in space, or is it in a air supplied room inside the ship?))
Jordan was tuning up one of the shuttles when he got the message that the engine wasn't working at full capacity. Jordan ignored the beeping on his wrist comm as long as possible before responding "Jordan here, I'll go check it out." Jordan got up with a groan. He stretched his legs, arms, and back before walking calmly through the corridors that led to the engine room. Once he was in the control room he sat down in front of a monitor and started reading details on the engine.
"Hmm, how odd."

(( Well, there is a room, but I'm out checking everything on the outside, just in case ))
Makoto made his way ever closer to the engines, scanning all around to make sure he didn't miss anything. "Ok, reached the engineer access, let's check it out..." He lent down and tapped some buttons on his wrist, a small hatch opening on the hull. Makoto jumped in and looked around. It was a small box, with tunnels leading off towards the engines, and back towards engineering. "Anyone got any clues as to where the problem could be? I'm at Engineer station 113 currently, so it's a long way both ways to check randomly." He broadcast it over the engineer channel, hoping someone, somewhere had a clue.

Jordan heard the question over his comm. He pressed a button and answered "our engines power is being drained faster than it can replenish itself. Here I'll send you the specs." Jordan flipped a little hatch on his arm band, pulled out a wire from it and plugged it into the computer. The data began transmitting from Jordan's arm band to Makoto's.
"Are you seeing this Makoto?"
((Keaton, tell me if I'm wrong on anything in this post. Oh and Keaton's gone >:0))
