i happen to like gaiman, and intend to watch Coraline.
but is it fantastic enough to qualify as sci-fi?
or is it really just a kid flick?

The story, or the one in the book, anyway, is a re-imagining of Alice in Wonderland, a bit darker, but unmistakable. Perhaps the term "Sci-Fi" doesn't apply specifically, but I can think of few better examples of fantasy.
If you're a Gaiman fan, you should know he doesn't do "just kid flicks."

its a good movie. im 20 and i enjoyed it. as for sci fi eh sorta...
