To me an elite avi is an avatar who is experienced in looks and can pull off combinations that awe other gaians who give credit on your avatar.

I agree more on the lines of what Blade said. In my opinion you need to make the items go together in a way that is pleasent to the eye. The worth isn't everything. I've seen some very rich avi's who I personally thought didn't look good. =/

An elite avi just flows with the items you use and gives off a 'ohhh shiny' feeling.

I think a well thought uncluttered avi looks best. Money does help with some items but not need always.

I think an elite avi is basically an avi put togethere well that grabs attention, no matter how many items you use or how much they are as long as it looks great and is not cluttered and seems to set a theme or match very well, or an avi that combines items rarely used and making them look awesome. ^_^
