My soon to be mother-in-law has taken control over my wedding plans! I recently got engaged and we plan to wed on May 23. Short amount of time to plan I know, but doable because its going to be a small wedding. Anyway, she is planning everything and my fiance recently said he put her in charge of everything.
Not ok! This is MY WEDDING! I am so mad I could spit, and today when I was on the phone with my fiance he said that us and his mother were going to find the place we wanted to get married exactly. I exploded on him and said it wasn't her wedding, it was mine.
Well he got mad and defended his mother, saying she is just excited and wants to be a part of this...
Jesus, its like him and his mother are getting married instead of me and him. I live in another city for college and so am not there all the time, but still....This is not her time. It's mine.
I don't know what to do. How do I regain control of my wedding plans without upsetting them?

Ah! That's a tough one! I would suggest sitting down and talking with your fiance face-to-face and try to explain calmly why you feel this way. Be sure to explain that you understand that she's excited about this, but that you feel that the wedding is being taken away from you.
I would also suggest trying to compromise with the mother. Delegate chores and wedding preparations for her to do. Make her feel needed and wanted. That way it is still your wedding and your mother-in-law will also be a part of it.
