RP Styles
In this particular RP, there are two different kinds of RP styles you can use. The first one is Literate, which is the one you would use most. The second one is Chatspeak. That one is a kind of casual RP, which I will tell you about later.
Literature is basically what Literate style is. You are telling a story about your character. You write/type in paragraphs. There are two kinds of point of views that can be used when RPing with this style but I will only tell you one because that is the only one you are allowed to use.
The point of view that you are only allowed to use during a Literate Style in this RP is first person. This is when you say 'I' and 'My' instead of 'she' or 'her'. An example would be this: 'I looked beyond the courtyard to see if my Prince Chazz was still relaxing under his favorite tree. To my surprize, he was not there.' The threads that are allowed to have this kind of RP style are the following:

Chatspeak is when you say your characters name, type what they say and what they do in a manner that seems less propper. The following would be an example of a Chatspeak style RP: 'Prof. Arrow: I guess I don't know where my student is. *looks around*' The threads that are allowed to have this kind of RP style are the following:

Certain RP types require specific RP Symbols to use while RPing with that style.
RP Symbols for Literate Style are:
"_"Put what your character says in between these.
'_'Put what another character said in between these. These symbols are only used if you are repeating what someone else said.
iThis symbol can actually be clicked on. This is used when your character is thinking or dreaming.
BThis symbol can actually be clicked on. This is used when your character is trying to emphasize what they are saying.
RP Symbols for Chatspeak Style are:
:This symbol is used after you put the name of your character down.
*_*Put what your character is doing in between these symbols.

Duel Academy Profiles
Before you can RP in the Official Duel Academy RP, you need to create a profile. The profile is simple and easy to create. You can choose what ever Dorm you want your character to be in and you can also create your avatar on tektek.org using the list below (and examples) for his/her uniform.

Duel Academy Characters
Duel Academy Characters are Yugioh GX Characters and will regularly hang out in a thread where you can RP. They hardly ever leave that thread unless no one is talking to them. You can talk to the character AND control the character as long as you keep to that Yugioh Character's personality. You can ask the character to move to another thread with you but I will be the one to move him/her there if I deem it to be a good thing.
You can not make a Yugioh Character fall in love with you (there ARE other fans of that character). You can however, ask them out. You choose the place where to meet them. For their reaction to the question of going out with them, check below their personality and pictures (this is so that no one hogs the character for themselves). Alexis
Personality:
Nice to all students at the academy. She is very intelligent and always uses proper manners no matter what the circumstance. She never skips classes but does love to hang out.
Q: "Will you go out with me?"
A: "Sorry, I'm not looking for a boyfriend right now..." Bastion
Personality:
He is almost busy with his studies and trying to come up with a way to defeat Jaden. He is a great tutor for all kinds of subjects including Math, English, Japanese, Dueling and all kinds of Science. Though he hardly has time to hang out, he still likes to enjoy nature to its fullest.
Q: "Will you go out with me?"
A: "Sorry but I'm too busy right now. Ask later."
And later.
Q: "Now will you go out with me?"
A: "Okay, I'll give you a chance." Jaden
Personality:
Loves to eat, slack off and goof off. He is hardly awake during his classes and so misses what he was supposed to learn. Dueling is almost everything to him.
Q: "Will you go out with me?"
A: "Is there free food?"

A: "It's a date!"

A: "Uh... I hear Syrus calling me... Hey Syrus! I'm coming buddy!" Jesse
Personality: Same as jaden.

Personality:
Loves to dig for fossils. Shirley, his crocodile, is his closest friends. His crocodile is hardly friendly. Jim is kind hearted and loves animals.

A: "I'll have to talk to Shirley about that, mate." Axel
Personality:
He can be very cold but he is a nice person and will do the right thing when need be.
Q: "Will you go out with me?"
A: "Not now." Atticus
Personality:
This is one random dude! Singing one moment with a giant smile on his face and the next he's staring with empty eyes towards the very Dorm he used to recide in.
Q: "Will you go out with me?"
A: "Yes... wait. No. Okay. When should we?" Zane
Pesonality:
He could seem cold but he actually has a really big heart. He cares for Syrus and his friends.

A: Shakes his head no with a 'Sorry' smile on his face. Syrus
Personality:
Extremely shy but chocked full of knowledge. So smart for a little guy. He is always worried about his friend Jaden.

A: "Uh... I'm sorry but I can't." Chazz
Personality:
Stuck up. He does care about his friends but it is hard for him to show it. He has anger issues as well. Most of the time he wishes to be alone. Respect his wishes.

Personality:
Wild. There isn't much else to say.

How to RP
Quick Rules First of all, you never quote anyone when you are RPing!
Second, you can not start off by talking to someone. You have to start out by describing where your character and what they were doing there. Then you can walk over to someone to talk to them.
When moving your character to another thread, you do not have to state in the previous thread that you are moving. Instead, just describe your character walking out of the area and into the new one. If you wish to move your character with someone elses, ask that person first if you can move their character (via PM or RP it).
Remember: When RPing in literate style you MUST use 'I' instead of the characters name. This style requires first person! Also make sure that you are making paragraphs and not just one or two sentences. Put the name of the character you are RPing as at the top of the post.
Literate RP style examples:
Starting off-NeTokyo Prof. Arrow
I glanced at my watch. It was 4:30 in the afternoon. The sun was high in the sky and beating down on school grounds. Luckily I was under a roof with air conditioning. I glanced at my students as they filed into class, one by one, laughing and goofing off. NeTokyo Prof. Arrow
As the bell rang, gathered my stuff and got ready to leave. I climbed the stairs and opened the door. A bunch of kids ran by the doorway as I stepped through. NeTokyo Prof. Arrow
It was a long walk to the Obelisk Blue Dorms but I finally arrived. I flipped out my key and slid it through the lock to my room. Turning it I heard a 'click' noise and I was able to open the door revealing a fine bedroom. NeTokyo Prof. Arrow
"Come on, let's go!" I shouted as I grabbed ahold of my friends wrist. We left the courtyard. NeTokyo Prof. Arrow
"Jaden! Don't eat that fast, you'll choke!" I shouted, watching the brunet scarf down a bowl of rice.
"mrely?" He replied with a full mouth. "n'kay teach!" NeTokyo Prof. Arrow
I heard him say 'I activate a spell card! Swords of Revealing Light! This protects me for three turns from all of your monsters.'
In response, "I activate a trap! Magic Jammer! If I discard a card from my hand," as I said this I discarded a card. "Then Magic Jammer will negate and destroy one spell card on the field. I choose your Swords of Revealling Light!" I'm going to win this, I thought.
Starting off-NeTokyo Prof. Arrow: *Is waiting for her students to come into the class room. Students file through the door with smiles on their faces.* Alright class, let's begin! NeTokyo Prof. Arrow: *Class is over so she picks up her things and leaves the classroom* NeTokyo Prof. Arrow: *arrives at blue dorm and unlocks her door* NeTokyo Prof. Arrow: Come on, let's go! *grabs friend by wrist and takes off like a rocket* NeTokyo Prof. Arrow: *sees Jaden stuffing his face* Don't do that!
Jaden: *says with mouthfull of rice* M'kay teach Netokyo Opponent: I activate swords of revealing light! Now you can't attack!
Prof. Arrow: I activate magic jammer! Now I will discard a card so that it will negate and destroy your swords of revealing light!

How to RP Duel
-Give all information on a card that you are about to play or you are activating. This includes for spells and traps: if it's a spell or trap, the card name, what type of spell/trap (normal, counter, quickplay, etc.), the full description of what it does. For monsters: it's type and attribute, it's name, ATK and DEF, level (stars), and any effects it may have.
-After every move, wait for your opponent to reply.
-If you are watching someone else duel are in the same thread, you may talk to any friends who are not dueling or cheer on the people who are dueling.
