I've found a couple of different tutorials on YouTube of how to make them. They look really easy and fun, and I can't wait to try it out for myself!
How to Make Recycled Fairy Wings:

Supplies:
- 4 wire coathangers
- two (2) pairs of tights (footed/with foot)
- spool of wide ribbon (looks around 2" wide, have at least 8' on the spool)
- twine
- pliers
- scissors
- paint brushes (an old, well-worn one, since it's for glue)
- craft glue (they use "Mod Podge")
- glitter
They use glue and glitter, but you could use paint.

Supplies:
- spool of wire (looks to be about 10-12 gauge, plastic coated)
- wire cutters
- electrical tape
- tights (she says she uses ones from the drug store, appear to be single-leg ones)
- inscence stick (she uses it to burn holes in the wings for a leafy look)
- felt tip marker (to draw your design)
- acrylic craft paint
- glitter
- paintbrushes
- stick-on jewels
- craft glue
- ribbon
- hot glue gun (kids, let your parents help you when using this)
- embellishments (Emilie uses fake flowers)

Personally, I love the look of Emilie's wings way better, but the first tutorial is way more detailed. You can essentially achieve the same look be combining Emilie's techniques with the other "how to" of actually putting together your wings. mrgreen

Haaa I love Emilie so much now. I already admired her
but I just can't get into her music so much as I would like.
All the elements are there I love her fashions, lust after her violin skills and enjoy similar subject matter but..
for some reason I'm not feeling the music.
but she's crafty..? LOVE.
If she had her own craft program i would watch it everytime it was on and record if I were busy.
I want to modify this idea and make some wicked batwings but when I would find time to do that is beyond me.

My daughter will soon have some fairy wings, tho. smile Maybe I will too ^^

I remember once I was a fairy princess for Halloween and I took a pair of old fairy wings I had and covered them in long gauzy fabric.
In the end, they looked like angel wings, but everyone called me a fairy godmother all Halloween night.. sweatdrop

Thought I'd point out something I noticed while trying to make mine.
The Recycled Fairy Wings video makes bending the coat hangers looks a lot easier than it actually is. I really struggled with bending mine.
Also, I didn't end up untwisting my coat hangers, I just worked out the part by the neck of the hanger (where it twists to start the hook) and then was going to form them from there. Don't know if the extra few inches really buy you anything.
Emilie's way of making them from a spool of wire is starting to look a lot easier - have a pair of pliers on hand!
