The MSU
Arguably the most powerful group in Trancity is The Merchant and Spacers Union. This group is labor union is in control of all importation, exportation and transportation of everything sold within, to, or by the passengers of Trancity. The MSU maintains authority and controls docking procedures and allocates hangar space along the spine.
Anyone who wishes to do any kind of mercantile trading is requested to make contact with The MSU, in order to prevent any conflict with MSU security.
The Registry of Slavers
Different slaves from different areas are allowed different rights and privileges, it is the registry's responsibility for tracking and recording all slaves on board. This is to prevent illegal slave trading on board the ship as well as help locate a lost or missing slaves.
The officers of the registry are for the benefit of all responsible slaves and slave owners. It is recommended that you do not interfere with the registry's duties, this may cause confusion as to your involvement in planning a slave's escape.
The Locksmiths
This group is in charge of property and housing on board the ship. Due to the fact they can control almost every door on board the vessel, they decide where people live, and what doors they have access too. The locksmiths are known for taking bribes and giving the best housing to the highest bidder.
The Locksmith security force is the only security force that follows Martell Company Policy regarding what qualifies someone as an acceptable passenger and are known for being vindictive against those who gain unauthorized access to secured locations.
The Agro
The Agro is an agricultural co-op which can control over the biosphere. It is responsible for maintaining the ecology on the biosphere and disputing all conflicts between farmers, naturalists and The Locksmith. It is safe to assume that nothing can live in the sphere without the hand of The Agro helping it along.
If you intend to visit the biosphere, it is suggested you advise The Agro representative in your area, so you do not get arrested by their security force for trespassing or poaching.
The Freemen League
The Freemen League exists as a collective of different smaller gangs, factions and alliances that work together in order to maintain their own territory outside of the control of the groups listed above, they do not recognize the authority of The MSU, Locksmiths, The Registry or the Agro and maintain their own economy in the lower parts of the ring.
The League is the source of all black market trading and illegal activity on board the vessel. Their security force is paid by residents and business owners in the lower levels to ensure their safety and to prevent interference from other factions.
All other groups are either too small to be recognized by Martell Industries or have been absorbed to one of the larger groups.
Thank you for choosing the Martell Industries Database.
