While gathering, you may encounter a monster! Yes though some are cute and cuddly, and some are mean, and ugly, they are all dangerous until tamed. When fighting a monster, you will need to use a lot of calculation.
The Steps:
Step 1: Attack the monster and deal your weapons attack power, plus your strength. If you are using a magic rod, then you take the magic rod's attack power plus your intellect. This is how much damage will be caused to the monster.
Step 2: You take damage to your HP from the monsters attack power minus your armor bonus and endurance. If the monster is using 'Magic' then it is your armor bonus and Intellect instead.
Step 3: Repeat step 1 and 2 until either you or the monster has 0 HP.
Step 4: Make a post about how each step went. Tell how it happened, who won, collect the prize, etc. The prize is exp and items.
The Rules and Tactics
*You always get to attack first.
*Run Away - If you do not want to fight then you can just run away. Be warned, some monsters have special traits that will not allow this.
*Taming - If you want to tame the creature, then you must treat your 'Pet Brush' as a weapon that deals 50 points of damage. You must still follow all the other rules of combat, except getting a prize. You get no exp or item from this. Just the monster. You may have only one monster at a time unless you have a barn.
*Pass the Buck - If your currently RPing with someone and you find a monster, you can let them deal with it only if agreed through PM's or some other means.
*No Eating/Potion popping in battle. This also applies to when you 'find' the monster. Heal yourself after a battle or when you gather something.
*No Ganging up - Only one person fights one monster at a time. At least for right now.
*The term isn't kill. We do not 'Kill' anything when a monster is defeated. Its body and soul disappear and go back to their home. (This is due to the 'Retoran' material in all weapons and tools.)
