...Gaia was colorful? It wasn't such the eyesore as it is today. The main page was filled with fun and interesting activities, not to mention different colors, while today, it isn't very colorful and it's usually advertising things that will just make Gaia money. It used to host a picture of some Gaia characters hanging around together having fun, while now, the main page has unappealing things.

While I wasn't around in 03, I have seen some of the images from it. Back when it was still colorful. Heck, even 05 it was still colorful and navigation-friendly.

Yeah. I really hated when they changed the logo and said it "represented us". We are a simple, colorless, and dull?

The reason I joined gaia in '06 (before I was hacked) was because gaia was unique and different from other sites that are 90% advertisement.

as i said i've only beeen here since oct 2008. but i used to look at this site all the time, but never actually signed up. why did it get sooooo dull and boring... kinda like ya know how a dead body is drain and dull and lifeless and boring? thats kinda what gaia is like. its sooo dull i mean there is hardly any color anymore.

I really miss those old layouts. Back then I thought those were fun and it looked more like the unique site, that Gaia was. Now, the layout is just a copy from every other Web 2.0 layout ever made. I'm better enjoying the old Gaia guild post layout I see now, as long as it's here.

I liked when they had the flash layout, and then Gaia still had the original theme of fantasy and anime and how you NEEDED to world map. It kept the fictional/fantasy aspect of Gaia. Now this is like... just a web forum. It lost what Lanzer's original intent was, I feel.

Do we even use tha World map any more? I remember when we had to use it to get to shops and other places. And our colorful logo. crying  before  After

Awwww! I remember the old '05 layout (wasn't here prior to that). It was so colorful and unique! Then one day they decide to go with the earlier version of the current layout and OH MY GOD!!!! Everything was so bright, it hurt my eyes when I looked at it! It was like being outside! I had to squint to read the smaller text!

I remember the '06 layout... [Wasn't here before that xD]
It was more colorful than the purple and white mess that we now have as a layout.

hey i bet u guys remeber when gaia was all happi and didnt need to SUCK MONEY OUT OF ITS USERS! i mean it was more fun before u had to worry about whos avi cost the most REAL money..... u guys can disagree

Why did gaia become this way? It used to be a fun community. Now its a scamming community full of "mods" who dont care, Avatars that you have to pay to get the good things and a dull dull community... Why did gaia get so dull and lifeless and boring?

I guess when you find a way to make money you take that opportunity and go for it forgetting the real purpose of why you started something in the first place.
It seems to me when a person uses the term "back in the day" everything before used to be better and I'm jealous of the people who witnessed the old version of Gaia. I've only been on Gaia since 2008.
Right now I'm only rambling.

Come to the ED. we are far from lifeless and boring. You want to know what I remember? I remember the beginning of fishing. I remember the founding of the Durem salon. I also remember when you needed to use the map. I remember a time before EI's and when MC's where Donation Items that few people bought. I remember the times before houses and towns and cars and zOMG. I remember when there where only two or so games and everyone hung out on the anime and manga forums because this was an ANIME roleplaying site. I remember before the casino as well. I remember when there was a singles forum in Barton Town. If you go look at the map there's still a building you just can't click on it. It's the one with the heart.
