The big question, are the murders on Rokkenjima committed by a human culprit, or a witch? Are you on Battler's or Beatrice's side? Post it here! If you want to show reasoning, mark spoilers.

Regardless of whether or not they do exist, the events can definitely be carried out by humans.
Saying a witch did it is easy. The challenge is to come up with ways that humans could have done it, instead of just saying 「I can't think of anything, a witch must be responsible」
It doesn't even matter if a witch really did do it, as long as we can come up with a conclusion that'll put a human as the culprit instead.

I like the idea that in the Umineko series, the collection of will and belief becomes strong enough for an entity to perform "magic" - ie, things out of the ordinary. I just finished playing the first game. There are some things I can obviously say were humans...and some I'm still pondering over.
SPOILER: (Highlight) The "murders of the two who are close" - Eva and Hideyoshi in the Epitah has me puzzled...did the culprit draw them out, and set the room up to look like a murder? Did he or she slip his hand through and undo the chain once someone had opened the door? The only thing then, is...Kanon went to the garden shed to fetch a cutting tool and was only gone 5 minutes. Before, the door was blank. But when he came back shortly after, the elaborate "circle" had been drawn. How could the culprit do something so detail so quickly, and yet not leave any residue or mess anywhere else? Also, Natushi at the end. How could she point the gun directly at her forehead for a suicide? It was a long gun and I doubt she'd have been able to get it to aim where she did. So, then, was the "witch" the culprit, who shot her with their own gun and made it look like an accident?
At the moment, until I've played through enough of the game and collected enough evidence I believe the Witch, a 19th person, exists. But I'm still fairly open minded. If something happens that strongly suggests otherwise, then It will just help me build my theory of ProHuman. Sitting or leaning on the fence, I think it's called.
Anyway, it's a great game! I'm ordering EP 2, 3 and 4 tomorrow, hopefully. >w<
