I thought that Gaelic was spoken only in Scotland.
Though Gaelic is a dialect of Celtic, a language seperate from Latin which first appeared within the Celtic lands that included Gaul, Ireland, Scotland, Britain, Celtiberia, Galatia, and areas along the Danube river. These places once were all part of one thing at one point in history before a civil war broke out where Celtiberia, Galatia, The areas along the Danube river, and Gaul seperated from Ireland, Scotland and Britain, and became their own nations. Thusly the Island of Great Britain was born consisting of Ireland, Scotland, and Britain. This was of course until yet another civil conflict broke out and Ireland seperated from the trinity, and Eventually So did Scotland.

Thusly emerges the different dialects of Celtic, But Gaelic I thought was Scotland. Though in modern day only about 2% of the population speaks Gaelic still.

They do speak Gaelic in Scotland. It's one of the three remaining Q-Celtic languages (Irish and Manx being the other two). All three are descended from Middle Irish. Though they aren't the only Celtic languages, there is also the P-Celtic branch (Welsh is the only one I know off hand).
But, technically you're right. Gaelic (Scottish Gaelic is Gàidhlig) is only spoken in Scotland (or by Scottish speaking people); the Irish language is called Irish or Gaeilge. Scotland is the one language that's called Gaelic.
