Okay. So here's the lowdown, or what not. Me and few friends are starting a website. It's a media site, so we review a lot of stuff. I'm in charge of Horror movies, and I need a LOT of movies to watch so name me a few, please.
Oh, and I like horror video games, so if you have an recommendations there, it'll be appreciated. Thank you!.

I'm going to give you some "off the beaten path" sorts of things, because it should be easy to find mainstream films. Plus, everyone and their mother has seen reviews for Evil Dead or Halloween...
These films are all humorous, and many times more humorous than scary. As a result, they have a wider appeal than pure horror films.

First off, the oddities. These movies are BIZARRE. It's probably not a coincidence that they're also imports:
Stacy
The Happiness of the Katakuris

A little less odd, but still funny:
Undead

Some more local stuff:
Bubba Ho-Tep
Fido
Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon

A few years ago I did my own series of reviews. Here are the films I put in the "good" category:
Event Horizon
Evil Dead II
Resident Evil

These were "ok:
Jason X
Sleepy Hallow
The Evil Dead
Land of the Dead
Killer Klowns from Outer Space
Resident Evil: Extinction
Silent Hill
Junk

These were "bad":
Enter...Zombie King
Urban Legends: Bloody Mary
Wraiths of Roanoke
Flight of the Living Dead
Resident Evil: Apocalypse
Naked Massacre
Doomed

Seriously, only watch the films in this last category if you have a "I watch bad movies so you don't have to" sort of outlook on this thing. smile

Are you just doing gore or do you plan to include psychological horro rinto your category?

As for games I have to say that Dead Space is one of the more terrifying games I've played, it's fun and frightening. The fact it's a shooter and doesn't take away from it at all and it's for the PS3

Horror Inc. Art Contest - Open to All

Diary of the Dead. Some people didn't like it, but it was actually really good. Go George Romero!

Hmm. I can't think of many more, I've been seriously limiting my horror to zombie movies lately. I need to broaden my horizons. But the media thread has a bunch of movies and shows, all with links.

Good, I'm glad to have helped. Like I said, these are the reviews I did a few years ago; if I were to do reviews now, there'd be more contemporary movies there (Diary of the Dead, and the Dawn of the Dead remake come to mind, specifically).
I have a rather large collection at home that includes some very obscure films that I could go through for you, assuming you get through the stuff I already listed. There's some stuff in there I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

The Stars Are Right

If you're going to be building up a horror review site, you should really cover your bases. The key is to give people a healthy balance of the classics, the new indies/good'uns, and the new crap.

For me, I'd do up something like...

~THE CLASSICS~
-Repulsion
-The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)
-At Midnight I'll Take Your Soul
-La Noche de Walpurgis
-Kwaidan
-Horror of Dracula
-Onibaba
-Tombs of the Blind Dead
-Martin

~THE NEW(ER) INDIES~
-My Little Eye
-Undead (2003)
-Pop Skull
-Black Sheep (2007)
-Hatchet
-Ginger Snaps
-Pontypool

~THE NEW CRAP~
-The Saw sequels
-Remakes

I've heard the F.E.A.R game(s) are pretty freaky.

Try watching "Mother of Tears".

See if you hated it as much as I did. ;P

As for movies, try:
Boogeyman, good psychological/suspense. (It may just be me that it scares.)

The New Daughter. Nice ending, ******** up though.

Metro 2033 was a good game.

For Movies: Audition
For games: Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem, The Gamecube version of the first Resident Evil, Condemned, Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth, Eversion (freeware game)

That's all I can think of at the moment.

Reading through this thread makes me excited for when we move. We've decided we're not getting any new systems until then. But I expect when we do, we'll be getting a 360 and a wii. I can't wait to play the games in this thread.
