1...the new blue toolbar is going to make gaia more dull and manufactured-kinda-looking than ever?
2...the noobs are starting to outnumber us older, and yes, bettr, gaians?

I do believe the new toolbar is a load of crap. Especially with all the pretteh pictures. I can just see it freezing my interwebs. [slow internet ftw~] Although it seems enticing enough, what with their claims that it will be more "user friendly" this way, so I suppose we'll just have to wait that out and see what happens. I am a little annoyed that they can't seem to stick with one color scheem either, but maybe that's just me.

However, when it comes to "nOObs", well...
It is true that more and more people are joining everyday, as in newbs. But for me to say "They're are too many nOObs now" would be crap, because I hardly frequent the forums unless I'm looking for some casual RPing. Which...I haven't found in a while, so sad. lol
Well, I dunno about that. Is there really more nOObishness in the forums these days? o__0?

How to ID a noob:

1) They speak noobish
2) They beg for a donation
3) They put their Myspace, Facebook, Metroflog and other IDIOT links on their signature

How to ID a pro:
1) They are literate or semi-literate
2) They work for their gold
3) They link you to their Deviantart, Knuffel, Dragcave, IMVO or other ARTIST/RP'S COMMUNITY instead in their signature

{Clearing throat loudly} Careful--I'm a newbie (note the spelling), and I don't act like a "noob".

As for better? Which is better: an old guard Gaian who acts like an arrogant p***k, or a newbie like me who doesn't constantly beg for gold (I've asked for donations a couple of times, but I did so politely, and with the assumption that it's not likely that anyone's just going to hand me 10K gold out of the goodness of their heart), who doesn't use L33T or txt abbr's every other word, and who actually bothers to RTFM (not that there's any "manual" worth the term here!)?

I'm not attacking you, BTW; I'm attacking stupidity in general. I don't care for elitist bullshit any more than I care for rookie-puke "noobishness". Just because someone's new does not give them an excuse to act like a retarded three-year-old, demanding handouts and freebies, throwing temper tantrums when they don't get them, and generally being an a**. OTOH, you were once a newbie like me--obviously, you survived the experience, and now are an old hand at Gaia--so have a little compassion for rookies like me, please!

You really want to get rid of "noobs"? Teach them how to act like they have brains! The ones that don't take the hint, by all means boot the bastards! Let MolesterSpace or CraigsList deal with them instead of us. But the ones who learn that being new doesn't mean you have a license to act like a twit are obviously worth keeping and training into old guard like you.

Believe me, I hate "noobs" just as much as you, and not only for the same reasons, but also because they make newbies like me look bad too! But please don't lump all of us together in the same category simply because we're all new.

Truthfully you have it all wrong, all of you have it completely wrong. Whether old gaian or new you have been and will remain as a noob, newbie, nab whichever version you choose to use to label yourself no matter the spelling they are not all that different in definition.

To make a thread that is striking someone who is merely trying to get some gold to do something is not giving you points. If you were an old gaian then you would not do such a thing, this is the problem with the internet now a days. 'I've been here longer I have more seniority.' The simple fact is, you are not more superior than anyone else that has decided to join this site.

Everyone is a person no matter how they choose to express themselves, it is habit for a new person to go about asking for gold ... it's how these places work to be realistic with you. You don't seem to realize no matter where you go there will be someone begging, think about this on the street sadly enough people have lost their homes and jobs whether it be their fault or not they sit on the corner begging for someone with a caring heart to give them money. Look at what has been brought into these games, people seeking caring hearts.

-=sigh=-

I am ashamed at what gaia has become, the creativity level depleted within the last many years but lashing out at the people who are simply doing what they have seen others do is not particularly 'adult gaian' behavior.

Your statement about outnumbering the elders and the elders being better ... I tend to disagree with you there, they are not outnumbering us because most of us have packed our bags and left the site and being better ... since when? That seems like a history lesson, remember once upon a time when the African Americans were slaves to the white people because they thought by skin color they were better? Well that was changed thankfully making everyone equal, there is no one better in a sense just holding more experience and more memories that is not necessarily better than anyone I walk up to everyday.

I will say this again because I know I will have to specify more times than anything, gaia has rules they must follow as do we have to ToS sadly, they have to advance their site updates were already planned and as you can see they are being followed through.
