I know that a while ago she made an announcement on the website that she was NOT being sued to dispell some rumors going around on other sites.
This news was just posted today on MSN though, which I would consider to be a pretty reliable source. SMeyer is being sued by an author by the name of Jordan Scott, who wrote a book called "The Nocturne." She claims parts of Breaking Dawn were plagiarising from her book, which was published in 2006.

I personally think it's pretty unfounded. The similarities they name could be found in tons of romance and vampire books. I think someone just wants a slice of the huge financial success of the Twilight series.

She won't have to worry about being sued for money after all the movies are out and she fades away from the public eye because by then the money will have dried up.
Don't believe that'll happen? Well there's already signs. She wasn't getting as much money as she was before so what did she do? She went and wrote another book. Meyer claimed she started writing it for fun, which may be true, but then she realized this whole fad would not last that long so she decided to finish it but when she looked it over she said, "Oh! Look what I've done! I've written another book!"
That is the biggest load of crap I have heard in a long time.
