I'm so happy to be here! I just started writing this!

Ian sighed as he watched the sun descend behind the walls of Barton.
“Hey Ian. Are you coming to bed?” Rufus questioned from the bottom step.
“Yes Rufus. I’ll be right up.” Ian replied, sending his friend a reassuring smile. The small cat gave an immediate nod before turning around, shaking his tail before quickly leaping up the rest of the steps, two at a time. Looking back to the window, Ian almost fell back at the sight of Liam making silly faces in through the pane of glass. Ian grunted slightly as he bumped into the sharp corner of a display table.
Upon hearing the distressed sound Rufus called, “Ian. Are you ok?”
Ian called up his apologizies for being too loud, while never breaking eye contact with the now snickering ladies man.

I'd like to see a bit more of this before I give any constructive critiscism ^o^.
Although, you should probably change one sentence slightly:
'The small cat gave an immediate nod before turning around, shaking his tail and quickly leaping up the rest of the steps'
3nodding
