Title: Fifteen [Chapter Title: Bunny] Author: Mrs. Paper (me) Rating: T Warnings: Nose bleeds, kissing, and little feel up. Summary: Ian and Rufus are in need of new Halloween costumes. NPCs: Ruby, Nicolae, Rufus, Liam/Ian Other: Sometime ago a friend of mine (Kanki) told me that I needed to write some Liam/Ian fanfiction. I told her to choose a number between one and twenty-five- she chose fifteen. I then told her to give me fifteen words to use as prompts. The chapters will be in a variety of ratings and word counts, but there will be fifteen of them. Enjoy?
--- ---
“What are we going to do?” Rufus asked looking down at the two outfits, one larger than the other, littered in tiny holes. It was that time of year again that the Gaian community brought out their costumes to get ready for the upcoming Halloween event, each shopkeeper having their own unique costumes that was worn every year for the trick-or-treaters.
Though, this year it seemed they would have to try for something different unless they wanted to dress in clothes that looked better as rags at the moment. Ian didn’t even think about putting moth balls in his closet, the well being of his clothes being the farthest from his mind.
Ian heaved a depressed sigh, sitting down on the edge of the bed that wasn’t occupied by the ruined clothing. “I guess we’re just going to have to pick new costumes this year.”
Rufus’s ears perked up. “Really?”
“Mm’hm. Though, at this late in the season I don’t know what will be left. If anything really.”
Jumping down from his perch on the dresser with much ease of a regular cat, Rufus made his way besides his long-time friend. Purring when Ian reached down and rubbed the back of his neck.
“We can visit Ruby tomorrow and ask if she has any ideas on what we can be.” Ian smiled, lifting Rufus up and setting him on his shoulder as he picked up their torn costumes and placed them in the trash. “In the mean time, what should we have for dinner?”
“Fish!”
---
“Oh dear.” Ruby frowned after listening to Ian’s request. “And you didn’t notice until last night? You should keep better care of your things!”
“Or at least have a better back up plan, man.” Nicolae, chuckled, leaning against the counter. The little weed he was chewing on flipping over in his mouth.
Ian blushed, laughing uncomfortably. “Sorry, sorry! I’ll remember next time to put them away properly. It‘s just… something that must have slipped my mind after…”
Ruby let him trail off, knowing what he didn’t want to voice out loud. It pained her knowing that even with Ian being as kind hearted as he was still had more problems than anyone should. “Ah, it’s OK, hun. It’s just your luck that I do still have a couple of costumes that I’m sure will fit you and Rufus over there.”
“Really?” The black haired shopkeeper smiled widely. “Thank you, I owe you one.”
Smiling back, she directed her friend to the back of the store, telling her son to keep an eye on the store for a little while. “It’s alright, sweetie, I’m happy to help.”
Nicolae followed them both to the back, looking down at Ian’s backside the whole way. “I’ll even help with what I can.” He added with a smirk, he knew his business here was done but he really couldn’t pass up the opportunity to get a chance to watch Ian play dress up with some of the costumes Ruby kept in the back for special cases.
Licking his lips that formed into a smirk, oh yes. Losing money would totally be worth this.
---
Ian had to bite his tongue as Rufus made another fit about his costume. He couldn’t really blame him, considering he wasn’t really all that satisfied with his own costume, but it was last minute and all that Ruby had that would match both him and Rufus together.
“It’s not that bad.” He tried to reason, running a finger around the black clothed color he was wearing.
“Yes it is.” The cat sulked. “I’m a carrot.”
He couldn’t stop himself from laughing at the utter dejected tone that Rufus spoke in. Earning him a glare and a cat paw in his face. “And you! How can you even pretend to be comfortable in that-that-”
“Oh, hush.” Ian smiled. “We don’t have much time until people start coming to get their candy.”
As if on cue, three boys trailed in with a shout of trick-or-treat, before choking on their own words as they caught sight of what their favorite shopkeeper was wearing. Blood gushed from there nose as they continued to stare wide-eyed and slacked jawed at Ian.
“U-uh… your-your candy…?” Ian stuttered out, handing each boy a piece of candy before backing away slowly. “Um… are you alright…?”
Before the question was fully out of his mouth a loud shriek from the door stole all of the stores occupants attention, and not long after that Ian was surrounded by people all talking and bleed out at once. Rufus took refuge on the highest shelf he could get to in such a short moment before looking out hoping he could still be able to see his beloved friend still in once piece.
If this is what just happened on the first night of the special holiday event, Rufus pondered with horror. How were they going to survive the week? Suddenly Rufus felt very, very sick.
As suspected the large crowds of people coming into the Barton Boutique didn’t let up even as people finished getting all of the wanted gift bags from Jack. They just kept coming back without fail. Ian was getting overly exhausted still confused on what brought on the uproar that manifested itself in the shop, but couldn’t come up with anything plausible to him.
“Ian…?”
Oh god, Ian though to himself, shrinking down behind his counter. He felt bad for trying to hide from someone that was wanting candy but he couldn’t help it anymore. He couldn’t wait for the event to be through with and normal life would play out once again.
“Ian? Hello~ are you here?”
The voice sounded a bit more familiar than it should before it clicked in Ian’s head that it wasn’t a customer, but a fellow shopkeeper. “Liam?”
“Hey, what are you doing down there?”
Looking up Ian came face to face with a smirking Liam. Letting out a small cry, Ian fell into the other man’s arms. “I’m so glad it’s you!”
“Uh… me too to be honest.” Liam chuckled as he dragged a limp Ian out from under the counter and into the open. “Mind telling me what you were hiding from?”
“The trick-or-treaters!” Ian cried clinging onto the other tighter. “There’s so many this year, and all the blood…”
He would continue to have nightmares about all the blood he had to wash out of the store. It was a good thing there wasn’t any carpet, but hardwood flooring.
“So many? Are you kidding me?” Patting his lovers back he let the other use him as he pleased. Liking the close contact after such a long week of working and not seeing each other. “I haven’t had nearly as many visitors this year as the others. In fact, I’m sure all the other shops were the same.”
Ian pulled his head back to look at Liam in the face. “What?! But-but there were so many more than I’ve.. had…”
He trailed off as he finally took note of Liam’s face. The wide-eyes and the jaw that seemed like it would hit the floor if it weren’t attached to his face. Ian was about to push himself away before he was caught by the shoulders and brought harshly forward into a deep needy kiss.
“Mm! Liam wha-” His temporary freed mouth was captured again as he was lifted by his thighs up to the counter before his throat was assaulted and diligent hands were working on his pristine white shirt. Pulling it out from where it was neatly tucked into his pants and lifting it so creamy white skin could be easily accessed for impatient fingers.
“Where-” Liam breathed heavily, biting down on the other’s shoulder earning him a loud-deep-drawn out moan that sent shivers down his spine. “Where did you get that costume?”
“Wha’?” Opening his blurry eyes, Ian tried his best to get the sense back to his brain to answer Liam’s question. “I-I got it from… Ruby.”
Coughing to get rid of the heavy feeling in his throat, Ian wound his arms around Liam’s next to better help stable himself on edge of the counter. “She helped by giving me a new costume.”
“What happened to your old one?” Liam asked, kissing the side of the Barton’s shopkeepers mouth.
“Bugs.”
Liam chuckled, leaning closer to get more heated contact between them. “And why this one?”
“It was the only one that had something else that would match Rufus.” By this time Ian’s head felt clear enough to be able to hold the conversation and the welcomed skin contact of Liam’s fingers still brushing against his stomach. “And Nicolae said-”
Jerking back, Liam felt as if he was punched in the gut. “Nicolae?! He- he got to see you in this? Before me?!”
Ian was disorientated again for a brief moment before he looked down at himself. “In this…?”
He took in his black, dress shoes along with black slacks that pooled a little at the bottom due to his lack of height for the pants. He didn’t see anything that would bring out this sort of reaction, even with the white sleeveless button up shirt, dancer cuffs (that he had to specially stop at Edmunds store for) and the floppy bunny ears on his head. It was just a regular costume to him.
Liam dropped his head on Ian’s shoulder. “You… you’re really something else.”
“Ian!” Rufus came bounding through the door reeling back in shock as he took in the two men before him. “What-what… what are you doing Ian?!” He shouted jumping up on the counter, hunching his back and baring his teeth at Liam.
“Touching.” Liam calmly replied, moving his head so he could glare at the cat.
Rufus growled.
“H-hey now…”
“Ah! There’s no time for you.” Rufus hissed out at Liam and turning to look worriedly at Ian. “There’s more coming!”
“M-more…”
“Huh? More what?”
Rufus turned to him with a strange glint of fear in his eyes. “Trick-or-treaters.”
Liam had time to blink once before he understood why he found his dark haired lover under the counter.

@Mizzy: I was actually thinking of putting that on him but then I got to thinking that mixed with Ian's personality he would never wear something like that so I made him wear something the guys wear. Plus Bunny ears.
I'll be drawing a picture of that soon, because the image is burned into my mind.
@Cosplayer: Lol. I'll do my best to finish it soon.
