We want our guild to be as much fun as possible and to let people who have not heard of this series to enjoy it as much as we do! For all of us to discuss and admire such a wonderful series George R.R. Martin has composed. In order for our guild to be successful we all must put our minds together and build a better guild for all of us.
So if you have ANY ideas to make our guild better, even if you think it's so ridiculous, write it anyway. All of you members are what make this guild, so say what you want it to be.

Hey, Being a regular of Gaia's Avatar Talk forum, I was wondering if this guild would be interested if I started a free avatar-rating thread themed on Song of Ice and Fire? Where I can rate my fellow guildies' avatars and cosplays.

An ice and fire cosplay thread isn't actually to bad of an idea. Though i would have to wonder how many could be made to look exact. Like tyrion for example i'm not sure if gaia would have something to recreate the ruin of his face after the battle at the end of a clash of kings. One thing though i would think that if a thread like that where made that everyone should be allowed a vote and comment on each cosplay avatar. That was it would stay as more of a community based event thread. And probably garner a bit more activity.
Also when the guild builds up a bit more member wise we may want to look into starting up a forum area for role playing. I've never actually done live forum role playing before but it sounds interesting enough when it was mentioned to me before. And it would also give a creative outlet for aspiring writers, not to mention a bit of a game for ppl to play with in the future. Then there's the story based element, that depending on how it's written and played out may be a very interesting read. And with the fact that gaia has a dice roll option with posting, we could choose between various story type's and a few more game type one's with dice roll's determining outcomes like an old pen and paper rpg.

I think the RP idea is...interesting, but probalmatic if we start using real characters.
Therefore, I vote that while we can have made up characters following other characters (a soldier in Renly's army, one of Lady Margary's companions, a wild man from Tyrion's "army, ect.) real characters, no matter how minor, should be off limits.

I agree with Drisil. There's plenty that can be done as hedge knights and nobles, without the need to write our own canon by controlling major characters.

I get what you guys are sayin, but wahts the plot progression? Without the major Characcters, not much can be done. After all, THEY control the Game of Thrones that the kingdom is caught in. I think we should really try for cotinuing where martin left off in feast. What does the Highsparrow do to the queens? What will Stannis do? How will Jon Control th wall? So much, so much. Much more then say, controlling a hedge knight down a path thats been set already by the books, since all the major descions would be the same.

Your words have merrit, Zeke, but what if our play along story ends up pretty much following Dragon's plot?
I for one don't want to have it ruined for me.
While on the otherside, there are plenty of other areas from the War of Five Kings that GRRM bearly brushed, if at all. And there are other reigons, and times.

Other times, that's actually a good one to explore. While their are minor plot lines to explore throughout the war of five kings, I think something along the lines of, say, the Fall of Valyria would be interesting. When Sorcery and Dragons were seen often, Valyrian Steel was common, and the kingdom of Westeros existed not, but instead, 7 warring kingdoms fought constantly...that'd be hella fun. We could even do something like the orignal Conquering of the seven kindgoms.

I think we should have a list of the best quotes (funny, moving, etc.) from the series!

I like the idea of a quote's thread. That has my vote.
