So when you play bass, do you pluck or pick your bass?
When I first started playing bass, I used two fingers to play bass.
I tried picking for a while, but everyone told me to stop because it sounded funny. I also experimented with slap/popping, but I kept missing the strings with my thumb.
After, I went back to finger plucking, and learned how to pluck with three fingers biggrin .
So to all bassists, how do you usually sound your bass? Did you start playing bass by plucking, or by picking? If you changed between the two, state why you did so. :]

I play with fingers because I suck at playing with a pick xp Sure, it hurts when playing for very long, but you get used to it. I only use a pick if I need to play fast xd

Play with my fingers. I play classical guitar, and have been playing that for about 8 years, so finger picking was natural to me. I can pluck those strings faster than most guys could with a pick anyways razz
Oh, and ya, it makes gallop strums way easier on a bass. Just use three fingers XD

我爱你。。。(Wǒ ài nǐ...)
I'm a mother plucker... xp
When I first started playing 4 years ago, I tried to use a pick, but it didn't feel natural to me. Once I started using my fingers, everything was better.

I played with my fingers as well. I tried using a pick because my other band members said that that would help me "play faster". Technically it didn't because I wasn't used to playing with a pick and I would miss the strings.
It's also easier to "gallop" with your fingers too smile
