First off, I would like to appologize for my very long absense from this wonderful guild.
real life has been keeping me very busy!
Ok, on to what this post is actually about...... steampunky places to visit!
Sloss Furnaces
The most wonderfully steampunk site I have ever come across has to be Sloss Furnaces in Birmingham, Alabama. Sloss is an old iron furnace that is now out of commission, but is used to host lots of events and concerts and whatnot (most reacently a very tasty barbque festival). Being a lifelong resident of Alabama, it shames me that it took me so long to properly explore the furnaces.
It literally looks like some crazy mad scientists fortress or something... with rusty pipes going everywhere, dials and cranks attatched to everything, creepy leaky tunnels..... and most impressively, a massive generator room.
They also offer metal working classes... I have yet to go to one... but I would definitely like to!

National Naval Aviation Museum
Overall just a really cool aviation museum, but if you look closely there are some nice steampunk elements too! One of my favorites is a skeleton of a dirigible hanging from the ceiling. Definitely a delightful museum for those of you interested in aviation.

These are all of the places I could think of, but I am sure there are other fellow guild mates that have visited other amazing places.... so feel free to let us know about them!
