I am the top of my algebra 1 class and have the option to take a test and move up to geometry. should i move up and get a challenge?

How might I be of assistance?
Depends. Do you feel that you understand all of the material that is going to be covered in Algebra I? The largest risk in testing into a higher class is the potential to miss a key concept that will screw you over for the rest of your schooling. -_-
Hope that helps! Have a nice day!

If you are confident, do it. The best thing about moving up at an early stage, is that any missed concepts are easier to pick up on.

Ultimately, if you've got a decent handle on mathematics in general, most Algebra 1 concepts can be intuitively understood. So if you miss anything specific, you'll pick up on it pretty quick when you take Algebra 2.
